Good morning!!!!

It's 58°F this morning and high is forecast to be 80°F this afternoon. After three 90°+ days this week, a nice change.

More weed spraying today if the winds cooperate. More mowing if it doesn't.

Mostly .... you do realize the 4-door Corvette is a joke ..... artist conception? There will NEVER be a 4-door production Corvette. There will NEVER be a front wheel drive production Corvette. The WILL however, be a mid-engine Corvette ...

Travel / work in Europe, around holidays, can be interesting. I've lived there and traveled there since the early 70's. Easter is a much bigger deal there than here in the US. You just work around it. Same thing is Asia.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and excellent weekend.

Prayers to all.

There was almost a rotary, mid engine Corvette in the mid 70s.

It's 16° this morning with snow showers. Yesterday we had snow showers off and on all day. Today is going to be cloudy this morning with some clearing this afternoon. The high will be around 40°.

I worked on the driveway most of the day but only got about half of it done. The blower didn't like the heavy wet snow. It's been a long winter is year, I can't wait tell it's over.

We are making a trip down to SLC this morning for the weekend it's been planned for over month. So I'm hoping that the sun comes out and takes care of the driveway. But I don't think that it's going to happen.

Hope everyone makes the best of the weekend.
CWB.

There are rumors, that the new mid-engine "Z06" engine, has so much torque that it's tweaking the frame rails. I suspect the "Z06" release will be delayed until 2020.

The standard coupe will be released on July 18th.

I told my son, when I'm too old to ride my Harley, I'll get a vette. Just not sure I can get in/out of it.

I had a 68 Vette that I used for traveling to work jobs. What a joy to drive. I sold it and bought a El Camino. Needed something to haul my motorcycle and snowmobile in. One the many things my wife reminds me to this day. That I should have never done.

46°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 62° today. High today will be lower than the low yesterday morning. Clearly it's still Spring here ... at least for this week. Going to have to get some mowing done tomorrow, because we're expecting more rain on Sunday.

Got my new desk assembled yesterday evening, and swapped out the old smaller one. The place is starting to look like a proper modern studio now. Old Roland digital recorder with 16 tracks vs new Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with unlimited tracks. Still need to order some stands for the new nearfield monitors, to get them up to ear level. Found some from a place in England that look like what I want.

Awesome stories about your mother, Randy. Thanks for sharing.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!

A cloudy 30ºF for today's low; a cloudy 38ºF now; and a cloudy afternoon with temperature reaching ~50ºF anticipated. This PM I see the orthopedist.

Don- Congratulation on graduating woodshop.

Kyle- I am happy to read that you had a decent pre-surgery checkup. Good luck with the surgery.

Drew- Take it easy; relax those cramping leg muscles; and supervise your workforce from a comfortable vantage place.

Rich- I am happy to read that thanks to the ˜Brain Trust" you're not traveling to Europe yet.

Thomas- No real signs of Spring here with the vegetation yet either; just a lot of bird activity.

RonJH- Good luck with the new computer and take it easy outside.

Paul- I am happy to read that your assembly of the new workstation was successful and you did not post about having any leftover parts.

I hope that everyone has a decent Friday and "decenter" weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning! 45˚F sunny. Need to take off quick this morning to align the planets. I just hate it wen the seasons get messed up and have to reboot. 100% chance of rain tomorrow and all neighborhood outdoor activities are canceled including the Spring Mega Garage sale where I was hoping to get some deals. Rain date is set for October.

Does anyone have a wooden iPhone amplifier? That is one of the hottest items that the wood shop sells when they have their craft show to raise money. They sold out of the 35 that the members made in a few hours. Their selling price was $35. They are larger and nicer than the ones on Amazon.

RNG you are right, I should be re pointing brickwork, just a little distraction first making a place to sit a couple of water tanks. Hand mixing some, then using the bucket on the Iseki to mix the concrete to fill in the larger pad. Mixing with a FEL is good fun, just have to pick a cool day to have as much time as possible to get it done and washed off.

Pure Portland cement costs only 」3.50 + tax per 25kg bag, an incredibly low price considering the amount of work needed to produce and transport it.

There are the remains of an old lime kiln down back of the house here, accessed by a rough road I'm told was cut by Chinese laborers sometime in the 1920s. It's adjacent to a large limestone outcropping on the wall of the canyon, and the cement they made was used in construction projects in the area, many of which are now at the bottom of Lake Oroville. I can't really imagine the work that went into building that large kiln, hewing the stone for the walls and moving them into place, then cutting the timber, breaking up the limestone, and keeping the fires stoked long enough to make the cement. Then hauling it, likely by horse or ox drawn wagon, to the construction site, where maybe a steam powered mixer would be used. Here, an 80 pound bag of pre-mixed concrete can be had for $4.35, and two of them will fit in the little mixer I rescued from Craig's List when I bought this place. It will take "only" seventeen batches for the floor of a wood shed I hope to build, and I'm not sure I have it in me.:laughing: I hope your project is not quite so ambitious!
