Got my taxes “done” TurboTax. Will look them over one more time before sending any $$ even though it passes the internal review without errors.

Just got back from wood shop and now I’m certified to use the vacuum cleaner.

Along with the compound miter saw, surface planet/jointer, thickness planer, table saw, belt and drum sander, edge sander, drill press-round and square holes, bandsaw, belt and disc sander, oscillating spindle sander, router lift table and the downdraft sanding tables.

They have a library of Woodsmith project books and I need to find the plans and start my project. They have cut me loose.

Mom's are/were/should be/will be our heroines. A lot of the posters here are/were fortunate to be the offspring of the "Greatest Generation." A common theme here is that these values remain values for those a generation back or 2.

Randy- My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for Mom.

My folks are both passed now but, resting in peace, side by side in the Veterans Cemetery. My mother was US Navy and my Dad was US Army.

My two brothers and I all strayed to US Air Force and Vietnam.

Good morning! A bit cooler today, 42 now and 61 later with an east wind.

Drew, like Ron said, I believe the Premium has the 255 horse 2.0 turbo. Still very powerful.

Went to visit mom, signs are not good, I’m afraid she might not make it the 4 days to her birthday.

Wngsprd, I hope your water issues are solved.

Prayers all around.

Topps, sounds like your mom was a great one. prayers sent.

Rick, putting a bed on a corvette just spoiled the image of every sports car.

It's easy getting in the car. To get out just I roll out on the ground and use my cane to get up -easy peasy-.

Ron is mostly right it is the 4 not the GT 6, but is surprisingly peppy. Ron would have been 100% right if he would have said "Don got the 2.0 L engine".

I did briefly consider the base GT model not because of the extra 2 cylinders but because it came without a hot sunroof, but it then lost most of the comfort features. The Premium features are added to the GT2 model and a few more than I have to the GT3 but then the $$$ would take the fun out.

When I took it out for an around the block test drive and the young 20 something salesman did not have anything to do so we dove it 20 miles to my house to get the thumbs up from my wife and then bought it the next day. It does have all the perks. I can now take a nap while driving with the self steering and adaptive cruise control. When I get a new phone (Apple 8 or higher) it can charge it wirelessly (now I have to plug in my SE) while using Apple Car Play or it's navigation. The biggest plus, and I really smiled, when I heard the warning beeps for lane departure, back up radar, blind spot, etc . . In the other vehicles (except the Mazda) the beeps were at a frequency that I could not hear making all the safety features useless.

Got up to 92˚F yesterday and the AC (ventilated) seats work soooo good. They are now a must in every new vehicle I buy.

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the mid 80s. Gray 2 was feeling bad so we took him to the vet yesterday, to get a few meds, he seems to be fine today. Maybe today I can finish the yard. Wood shop 101 starts today along with some seat time at the gardens. Potatoes are taking off.

Don, you've come a long way from a Pinto.... quite spiffy, I must say.

Ed- Miss a day and it takes forever to get caught up. For a bunch of old f@rts or those in process of "becoming," this bunch is pretty active. I get tired reading about how hard everyone else is working:rolleyes: It's real easy to miss stuff.

:)

It's 27 this morning and overcast. The snow started Tuesday afternoon and stopped some time last night. It snowed for over 30 hours. I'm not sure how much we got but I'm thinking over 2 feet. The wind picked up yesterday morning so we have some good drifts. Today is going to be partly cloudy and in the mid 30's with some more wind 15-25 mph.

One of the neighbors stopped by yesterday and got stuck in the driveway. He run into one of the drifts, he said he couldn't see were he was going. We spent about a hour digging him out.

I was going to make a trip to town this morning but it will take me most of the day to dig us out to the road.

Hope everyone that's having health or personal problems the very best.

I'm not sure if I got two pictures on here are not. If I did sorry.
CWB.

Was it me having sympathy for you still having so much snow, or Ron telling everyone to look out for an April snow, that made it snow??? Hope you got it moved enough to get out.

Back from Dr. 30 post since I last looked.
Dr reminded me that at my age stuff doesn't heal like when I was younger. OK Doc. Since we are going to have crappy weather for the next few days. I will use them to conserve energy.

Nice young doctor. Should still be around when I get to the Century mark.

Randy, hope your mom finds the strength to make it way beyond her birthday.

Don, your iPhone should be updated with IOS 12.2.

Ron, hope you get better.

Thanks for the well wishes for mom, I know it’s close to her time, and she needs the rest. She has worked since she started hoeing cotton at 6. She loves to work and has been so bored the last five years.
My dad died when I was 12 and mom made sure I never went without. She worked two full time jobs, one 6 days a week in upholstery shops. 7-5 on one and 6 to midnight plus Saturday on the other. Still found time to enjoy life. She was a Sky Watcher in WW II, still has her wings. Besides upholstery and window treatments, she could build a barn, lay carpet or vinyl, tune up a car, cuss like a sailor if somebody messed with her and literally out shoot anyone I ever met. She shot two different chicken hawks flying, with a .22 bolt action Remington in one summer. She milked cows, fed hogs, sewed up a pig that a dog tore open.
The woman has lived her life and God knows I’m going to miss her!

Wish I knew how to run a planet/joiner... Have you been reading hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy again???

Long day. Went to hospital.

EKG = good
blood work for traces of troponin = negative
blood sugar good
xray = good
everything checked out, so they let me go.

Came home and rested. Well, I put the cages on 18 tomato plants in the garden while it was a calm peaceful 72F outside.

Does your driveshaft have any kind of damper on it? There are lots of vehicles that use them, but you usually have to cut an inch or so from the length. They will correct a lot of foul harmonics.

Thannks, Randy. This DS doesn't have any sort of damper that I can see. This driveshaft has a slip fit between the front and rear flanges so it can change length. Are the dampers you mention available in the aftermarket, or are they made for specific vehicles?

Good evening all. 64F for the start, cold front coming through, had some rain drops on windshield. Temp dropped to 52F mid morning, the recovered to 64F. Sky cleared off and wind slowed at sunset. We'll know for sure if he joins the poetry class next

Another frosty start, now the sun is working it's magic again. CWB, your snow picture yesterday had me half envious of the tranquillity a good snowfall brings, but for you it seems unrelenting, you must be more than ready to see the grass again.

RNG you are right, I should be re pointing brickwork, just a little distraction first making a place to sit a couple of water tanks. Hand mixing some, then using the bucket on the Iseki to mix the concrete to fill in the larger pad. Mixing with a FEL is good fun, just have to pick a cool day to have as much time as possible to get it done and washed off.

Pure Portland cement costs only 」3.50 + tax per 25kg bag, an incredibly low price considering the amount of work needed to produce and transport it.

Randy, if you have time, please tell your mum we are all in awe of her life.

Don, you're certified on stuff I've never even heard of. Expecting great projects!

Good morning, 62 now, supposed to rain later. Got to 79 yesterday, warmest day this year so far. Weekend looks mostly decent.

Looks like I am not going to France next week! As I suspected, the brain trust had the cart before the horse again, the people in Germany and France are not able to do anything that quick due to Easter week. Easter week is a big deal in France and Germany. Tuesday after Easter is the earliest they are available......I knew that was going to be an issue, other people, not so much.

I learned a lot when I was doing international. Understanding important holiday traditions of countries you travel into is one thing I learned. But I also learned many people don稚 understand or grasp how that can affect international business travel.

Ron, RNG, I know full well how things go on wasted trips. I had to go to far eastern Algeria once during Ramadan to replace a part I had said was the problem all along. When the problem was first reported, it was a catastrophic failure that required massive amounts of parts to fix. Based on the symptoms, I was convinced it was minor. Expressed my belief on a conference call and got told by multiple people on both sides of the issue I was wrong. I expressed my opinion again in an email summary of the call and got the same response. So, parts were ordered, shipped to Algeria, and finally it was my turn to go. Funny, the minor part I was convinced caused the problem had been removed from the parts list. So I threw one in my suitcase and headed to Algeria.

Got to the machine bright and early Sunday morning (first day of the work week in that part of the world), within 45 minutes, machine was fixed. I used the part I hand carried. So spent the week doing training. People treated me great. When we had the big wrap up meeting (also something you do in that part of the world), the subject of all of the parts they bought came up. I told them (politely), they owned the parts or we would take them back in exchange for a very large bill for travel expenses and my time. They kept the parts.

Well, time to get moving. Everyone have a safe and good day.

34F cloudy low 50's for high rain arriving later tonight.

Seems like nothing greening or budding and the deer are feeding even heavier now.
E muffin feed little critters and slow roll to work.

Enjoy the day all.

Poured first cup of coffee. 44° with rain this morning. Heading to 62° with some serious SW winds. Had planned on doing a final cleanup of garden pond today. But rain and winds may keep me from that task. New computer is supposed to show up today. That should keep me busy for a few hours. May fit in Dr's orders of taking it easy for a few more days.

Don, I thought I was 100% correct when I mentioned 2.0L. But then I am not a Planet/Joiner. Learn something new every day. :dance1::D

Kyle, hope you get surgery soon and can start recovery.

Roy, hope Audit goes good.

Wngsprd, glad you got water again.

Drew, glad your garden is almost planted. Now the weeding starts.

Randy, prayers for your Mom.

I know I missed some. But I forgot what I read after the second post.

That's one of the best things about my travels in Europe was the kind/friendly people I met. One train trip I took from Moscow to a town 120 miles north. People were coming from all train cars to say hello and ask questions when they heard that a American was on board. Same happened on return trip. I did have a escort/interpreter provided by tire company I visited with me the whole 3 week trip in 1973.
