Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #90,101
The low this morning is 19°. It looks like we got another 4-5 inches of snow over night and it's still snowing. It's going to be cloudy this morning and some cleaning this afternoon. The high will be in the mid 20's and a light breeze.

The neighbors son in law is a ranch foreman in Big Piney. The neighbors went up yesterday to see the grandkids. Just about time they got to town the son in law was moving cattle up the highway on horses. His horse slipped on some ice and went down and landed on him. He broke both bones in his low leg. They took him to Jackson to the hospital ( you can see the elk feed ground from the hospital window). They did surgery and added a rod and some screws. I'm related to the son in law in a around about way. His great aunt was my step mother. The last I heard he is doing well.

Lynn ... We are south of Ft. Bridger about 18 miles and 22 miles from Mountain View. I seen quite a few trucks going down the road yesterday, headed to the Uinta's to play in the new snow. I have never been up there in the winter. I know there is a lot of open country up there.

I think I'll wait tell it quits snowing be for I do anything outside today.

Hope everyone has a great day.
CWB.

61°F and .64 inches rain. Appears to be letting up by too early to tell if salvageable as a work day.

Just got call that wife’s older brother in Richmond Va passed last night. We had visited last year Jan on our mainland trip. Kinda surprised he lasted another year after his diabetic amputation. Classic case of not taking care of himself for years and stressful home environment. RIP Frank.
Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

52 degrees, just about high of the day, waiting for rain to come in, seems like a slow mover so a lot of rain expected.

Thought I'd do a tray or two of peppers this morning, really enjoy planting on Sunday morning, my own quirk, quiet and satisfying.
And then I kept going. 5 more of these 32 plant trays, then 2 of the 72's, and I was done. 336 pepper plants, that should surely be enough...
About half to stay here, half to be given to friends and for fund raisers at Garden Club and Master Gardeners.
About half sweet, half hot, but all mild hot like poblano.

New hot pepper this year, called Fish Pepper. Native to the Afro American community around Baltimore of all places, and the pepper plant is called edible landscaping. Apparently foliage is multicolored and very pretty. I'll plant that one over by the flowers... Also lots of sweet Italian grilling peppers like Jimmy Nardello. My bell peppers never seem to get very big so am focusing on other types.

Cabbages are turning yellow from all the water, tonight's downpour won't help at all.

Going to watch a movie and take a nap. I believe we all call that energy conservation.

David, the trick is that once you have the trees, Kyle and I will come stay with you to pick and process the beans and then I'll roast them and we will all be rich...well, maybe not rich but at least well caffeinated.

Hmmmm, just so I’m clear... you and Kyle will be moving here for 6+ months (depending on season)? So guess maybe I should keep my second tractor and refresh my project list to have plenty to keep you busy in between picking? If bringing own tractor, I’ll have to make adjustments

Thank you! Agreed, the weather patterns are definitely abnormal. We just got back from Kentucky and the rain they are having was the talk of the town.

Yes, we are faring very well. My wife and I are by no means reppers but we do maintain enough necessities to hold us over for a couple of weeks if necessary. This is the first time we致e been tested. Nearly every friend I have got caught off guard. I would致e been able to support 15-20 people but no one could reach our house. So, my wife and I have had a nice quite staycation! Best estimate is our power will be off for about another week.

My only complaint is that I waited too long to buy a diesel generator. Our Honda 5KW is doing just fine, but I don稚 store much gas normally. About a week ago I bought 25 gallons for no particular reason. Guess that was a blessing!

A few necessities while leaving the house

RonJH- Thanks for sharing the hosed car and the drone killing eagle(?) pictures.

Claye- I am sorry to read about your neighbor’s SIL. It reads like a serious break. I hope that he mends quickly.

David- I am sorry to read about Frank. RIP

Drew- Thanks for sharing the pepper link. Those are nice looking hot peppers. I/We like hot peppers, but have never been able to successfully grow them here. I hope you are to conserve energy as planned.

skylightDryFloor.jpg skylightNoLeak.jpg

Almost forgot to mention that the skylight in the van seems to have stopped leaking after the adjustment on Friday. It was dry yesterday when I checked it after sitting under a half inch of rain, and it was still dry when I checked it this afternoon after another three tenths. I'm not thinkin' I'm out of the woods just yet, but after another couple of inches come down on Monday and Tuesday, I'll start to think it's fixed.

Good evening! A cozy 37 ˚F here in central Texas while it was 65 and foggy in Galveston this morning and 90˚F at the Georgetown Vegan restaurant called Bread and Chocolate last week. Half the fun was getting there.

Still trying to catch up on current events I'm 350 post behind.

Lots going on with everyone.

Snow started lightly at 9am, didn't start sticking till 2 pm, now about 1.5". Doubt if we get more than 3-4".
They have not been salting roads, so lots of accidents reported.

Worked on taxes again. Waiting for company to reissue w2s they messed up. Doesn't affect my numbers, but dont know what happens if i file, then they update my w2.

Had a switch in HSA companies last yr, but got all that settled, my records match theirs so all is good. Expensive yr healthwise last yr.

Gonna hit single digits a few nights this week. Gonna seem really cold after hitting 50s.

.55 “ of rain since about 6 pm, steady heavy rain falling, and looks like several more hours of it to come. Looks like we might end up with over two inches this weekend, to go with the wettest winter I recall in recent memory. Every inch of ground is soggy and I have 1:100 drop across my property. I feel sorry for people with level or low land.

Good evening all. 33F for the start, calm wind, overcast. .1 inch in the rain gauge between drizzle that fell yesterday and overnight. Sky started clearing early afternoon, wind picked up late morning, and high temp was 36F. Possible light snow tomorrow morning. Chapel this morning, the cook breakfast. Stove duty as well today, cleaned out some ashes before stoking the fire. Need to make of buy a screen for the ashes to filter out the coals when cleaning. Good nap today.
David sorry for your loss.
Ted sorry the second go around did not yield better results.
Jay fingers crossed for your next knee check-up.
CWB sorry to hear about the horse riding accident. It can be a small world sometimes.
RNG good news on the seal, now to get the linkage sorted out.
Ron enjoyed your pics, 4 stroke engines are much more expensive than 2 stroke, and fuel injection much ore common and expensive as well.
prayers for all.

Good morning. The high winds finally caught up with us in the late afternoon, I ought to have a walk around and check for flattened fences. No rush as there is nothing to escape, I'm still sheepless, though that will change with the first trailer load of lambs arriving with their mums later this morning.

JB, sorry if that pesky knee has you wanting to put a bag on your head - at least it wasn't a plastic one ! That picture brought to mind an old sketch about a hi-fi shop. If you watch this, even if you don't find it funny, you will be another 2 minutes and 30 seconds closer to talking a stroll outside :)

LS, hope your ortho doc has some good suggestions. You only need to get worried if he questions you about sailing, asks if you like parrots and how you would feel about wearing an eye patch while spending your vacations on Treasure Island

Sheepless in Shropshire

Have you all seen this new movie starring our favorite Brit? ;)

Don, good to hear from you, was wondering how you were.
David, sorry for loss of family.

An inch of rain last night, going to be a swamp out there this morning. Will take days to dry out, and a clear super cold spell is coming
in, cold enough I'm putting out all the hoops and plastic in the big garden.
Am hoping all that fertilizer I put down stayed put and didn't all wash away from the collards field. It's granulated/pebbly so hopefully what didn't dissolve stayed put.

My friend who owns a coffee business is sending me some Peet's decaf. Food Lion decaf is awful and local stores are now carrying way more k cups than regular, so not much to choose from.

Have a good Monday.

   / Good morning!!!! #90,120
Good morning. It is 16 now. Likely not going to change much today. Next several days are to be similar. Ended up with about 2 of snow yesterday.

Looks like the tornados in AL were devastating. Thoughts to all affected.

I have noticed the stores locally have really cut back on any type of coffee that doesn稚 come in a K cup. Certainly limits your choice if you want something that does brew in a Kuerig.....

Everyone have a good day.
