Good morning!!!!

Good morning, everyone! Snow showers and 20 deg F here. I'm on the east side of a range of hills called the Blue Hills, about 20 miles inland from the NH Seacoast and near the Maine border. We have about an inch on the ground right now, forecast to change to rain showers as the day progresses. Some mixed winter precipitation possible. High near 35F. Winds light and variable.

There's not enough snow to fire up this new tractor owner's Kioti. We had early snows in November, which prompted the tractor purchase I've been contemplating for the last couple of years. I've been reading this interesting thread for the last week and thought I'd jump in with my first post. Have a good day, all!

Welcome Dave.
Guessing I grew up in your vicinity, but on Maine side, Kittery and South Berwick. Worked in Dover, dated a girl in Rochester. Still have family in area including a brother in Rochester.

I can't help noticing that he's much less enthusiastic now than when he was when he was trying to sell me the policy to begin with.

If there's an insurance agent to whom that does not apply, I've never met him or her.

Welcome Dave to GM, you and RNG can compare notes on BMW motorcycles.
Nice to see new folks sign on.

thanks for the good wishes. It's not the flu, thankfully, just a bad eustachian tube and inner ear infection.
Antibiotics always give me an upset stomach. Just loaded up my Kindle and likely going horizontal again.
Waste of a gorgeous sunny day out, last warm day in 10 day.
At least I got the seedlings moved over to the greenhouse, mighty toasty in there. All kinds of little green things popping up, mostly flowers
and cabbage seeds.

All this cold weather headed down here must mean a lot of you are getting colder/about to get cold.

Good Afternoon EveryOne!!!!

19ºF was the morning low with freezing drizzle/fog and 5/8”’s of new snow on the ground. We are still under a Winter Weather Advisory due to icing. A foggy 34ºF now. It was a nasty drive down to the “Big City” this morning for “supplies.” It looks like I’ll be seeing several temperature swings and periods of rain/snow showers throughout the week; maybe something happening Sunday-Monday weather-wise.

“… "You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone.”-JM As I am discovering :( and to which most of you can relate. :( I also am not happy about what I am acquiring as I age. RNG- Good luck with the insurance company.

David nice drone shot of your beautiful place. Great job the concrete. Nice sunrise picture. Thanks for sharing. My “Flying Cuisinart,” has become a hangar queen.

dmotty AKA Dave- Welcome. Congratulations on your new tractor. i wish you both many hours of uneventful operation.

“… had one of those million bird trains of blackbirds fly over, or land on your property?”- Thomas. The bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between South Williamsport and Williamsport provided a migration roost for tens of thousands of starlings. It is awesome to see multiple flocks of those birds re-flocking together.

Ted- Good news on the puppy.

Drew- I am sorry to read that you are still sick. I hope that you shake it off soon.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day today.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

59° right now, feels great outside.

I watched the penultimate American Eagle Dash 8 fly out of here today, there’s one more in storage that I assume will be sold. They started the changeover to jets August of 2017, they rapidly moved to the jets and by last July the last turboprop passengers landed here, by then there was only a flight every few days using them. It’s strange, the Bombardier jets are quieter than the turboprops were. Last summer there were 14 Dash 8s parked here, now there is one. Thirty years of history in those old birds.

61 outside here. No birds to watch. Just chilling and having a frosty.

Hope all had a productive day.

Hi, everyone!

Good morning to you! I looked up the Blue Hills and looks real nice.
Welcome Dave. Guessing I grew up in your vicinity, but on Maine side, Kittery and South Berwick. Worked in Dover, dated a girl in Rochester. Still have family in area including a brother in Rochester.
Welcome! ...I've had tinnitus since going on low dose aspirin near 20 years ago. I mostly ignore it, but it's there all the time...
...Welcome to the GM thread, Dave. I have a tractor we bought new 2-1/2 years ago, and still haven't had a snow event significant enough to use it....I've read a lot over the years about possible tinnitus "cures." None ever seem to pan out medically. I'm not convinced there is a cure for damaged hearing. I've lived with severe tinnitus for a long time, too. You get used to it ... sort of. It rarely bothers me until I'm either in a quiet environment or someone starts talking about it. Right now, it's screaming at me.
...dmottv. Welcome, CWB.
... :welcome: to dmottv! Great to have you join the GM crew...
Welcome to good morning dmottv. Congrats on a new tractor...My ears are ringing loud now also. Didnt notice until everyone mentioned it...
Welcome to GM group.

dmotty AKA Dave- Welcome. Congratulations on your new tractor. i wish you both many hours of uneventful operation...

RNG: my first was an R75/7. RJ & Thomas: Toziers, Creek House & 4 Aces are three of my favorite eating spots. Ray: it's great to hear from one of my favorite places, the Maritimes!

I've been living with tinnitus for many years also, possibly due to not wearing ear protection while riding motorcycles during the early years, or maybe it's just a factor of age. The area here "off the beaten path" is nice: many of the roads skirt around, through, or stop at the base of the Blue Hills to the north and west, and some continue up and over, or meander through the gaps as unmaintained roads and trails. There are lots of woods, older farms, scenic vistas, and it's close to the ocean, the lakes region and the white mountains. I've called it home for a few decades and have some family here also, sodamo/David makes me wonder if we have friends of friends!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
