It was 30° when I got up this morning, yesterday was in the low 40's with off and on light rain all day. It looks like we got about 3 inch of snow overnight. The forecast says rain and snow showers for the rest of the day with the temperature in the high 30's

The neighbor decided not to put the cover on the camper yesterday. I don't think he will be doing it today.

I think I will be inside most of the day.

Good morning to all! Low was only down to 45, a little bit of wind and some cloud cover kept it warmer. Today the breeze is keeping the hot air balloons grounded. They did inflate, but just for a ground show.

Claye, the snow is beautiful! Is it early this year?

Lots of people disappointed this morning at the Balloon Fiesta, no mass ascension due to high winds. It truly is a sight to see....up to 750 hot air balloons covering miles of sky. Even when just on the ground, it's still amazing. The 'special shapes' are neat.

Kept spitting off and on so no bushhogging today.

Decided to take the afternoon, put the dogs in the truck and take wife to Waimea (Kamuela) to Dairy Queen. About 40 miles each way. Wx was overcast, some rain in spots, sun in others. All in all a nice scenic ride with the best company in the world that basically resulted in consuming several hundred unneeded calories. Life is good.

Wow! A good 'ole date to the Dairy Queen. I hope it was a great one.

Our DQ was owned by an investment group that was horrible. It was one of those that was closed about a year ago, along with many others in Texas, Oklahoma & NM. I worked for DQ back in high school and it had it's ups and downs. I knew the local DQ manager and he told me about all the heavy handedness of the owners. They didn't even put out napkins anywhere. You had to go up to the counter and ASK for them.....I hope someone decent buys the building and reopens it here.

Thanks for the welcome back.

Although this past summer was not as profitable as some in the past, it was a good summer. I woke up every morning taking in oxygen.
I definitely will be going North West again next year. My DL medical looks good, so I still hold a Class A cdl. I will be keeping the 2001 Freightliner with the C15 NZ Cat and I will still be pulling the 2014 Super 'B' train tanks.

for those of you who own Subaru Outbacks with a cvt trans, received official letter from Subaru
yesterday on a 2016 Outback, which I no longer own, extending the warranty on the CVT trans alone to 5 years and 100K
miles. Not a recall...I wonder if to quell concern vs other makers with longer warranties. I never liked the transmission but
it always worked flawlessly for me.

Eric, you have a newer one I thought, did you get a letter?

I always wondered how much more, or less, expensive is a CVT to do a major repair
on vs today's current 8 to 10 speed computerized transmissions.

If you own an Outback (other Subarus?) might be interesting to ask your service tech next time it's in, any TSB's on this transmission?
It's all Nissan uses today, not sure about Toyota.
