hauʻoli lā hoʻomanaʻo David

had a fun day today, got up the nerve to state publicly at my Meeting I needed to find a wife, and oh boy did that get things going. Nice lunch with my MIL, who made my favorite stuffed peppers which were yummy and a home made cherry pie. Which I have the rest of in my car. Maybe I should go get it for a late dessert....hmmmmm. And a nice dinner out with friends to wrap up the day.
Weather was just beautiful here also, highs in the low 70's.

Happy anniversaries David, Gary and respective wifeys!

Drew, enjoying reading about your travels. :) Watch what you ask for...you might come home with a wife! Can't be much worse than my story below....

Friday, I took off the gas tank on my LT180 Deere rider. I was going to just replace the fuel line but noticed the main drive belt was old and cracked. Got up Saturday and went and bought the fuel line's bushing that goes into the plastic tank, and the drive belt.

The almost great dog story ensued. Last week, my friend sent me a photo of a beautiful yellow lab. It belonged to a friend of a friend and they were looking for a good home....hummm....why would you want to get rid of a 5 year old beautiful male lab????

We made the trek to my hometown and went out to the country where we were happily greeted by "Buddy". He immediately started "humping" all my kids and my wife. When he jumped on me I stepped on his back toes and he got down. Then he tried again, and again, and again....I told the guy we would try to train him not to hump....We took him to my mother's house and gave him a bath, and still he did the same thing, getting spanked, toes stepped on, sharp karate chop on top of his nose....Nothing worked. Yet he still wagged his tail and was happy. I texted the guy back after my oldest daughter agreed, "We ain't teaching this old dog anything new." The dog was also in the middle of a strong antibiotic routine "for his ears" we were told. When I took him back, the guy said just put him in his kennel. The dog did not want to go. I had to drag him in there by the scruff of his neck. Sad story. I'm guessing they didn't spend much time with him trying to train him. He needs to be "fixed". But not sure he's trainable at this point.

Today we stayed late at church. Our oldest daughter will go through their year long educational training. They will have to attend church, and meetings for a year. Also have to take notes of sermons and a bit about what they mean.

Got home and started on the lawnmower belt. Wow. What a task that is. I have it basically installed, but the 3 idler pulleys all sounded a bit worn and I decided that "whilst I'm up in here this far..." I found a place on ebay that sells them as a kit for $30. Supposedly NSK bearings too. We will see.

I hope you all have a great week.

Happy anniversary David.
Drew put pressure on right foot.
RNG I have a fifth cousins child, in Germany, (the flower child at the wedding on our farm if any remember) who is now 16 and is walking in your footsteps, refurbishing motorcycles. He e-mail me his first redo today.

Good evening all. 75F for the start, overcast, calm wind. Wind was moderate, sky cleared off late morning, high temp was 84F. Started the day by attending Chapel, and that was about it for accomplishments. Did make breakfast for us. No nap :(. Had trouble watch the Cardinals on the laptop today, pitching was nonexistent and 2 2/3 innings :(.
Happy anniversary Gary and wife, and Davis and wife.
Kyle good luck with expanding lawnmower project.
Don, nice result for the first project for your relative. Was that a military bike?
Drew I too am enjoying the commentary.
Prayers for all.

Looking at the horn, I think so.
I don't know enough about motorcycles to know the proper questions to ask. (in German)
