David, does the Ironman Triathlon bike ride come any where near you?

What I'm seeing in Eric's picture I kind of dig. However, I won't be the one who gives the scoop.
I saw that, but didnt think it was the object..

PJ, I had lots of fuel issues with all my Echo equipment (chain saw, pole saw, BP blower, and 2 trimmers) until I discovered Sta-Bil Marine 360 gas treatment. It really works well to nullify the effects of “ethanol contaminated” gasoline.

Don’t know how you buy your gasoline but you add 1/2 oz. of Sta-Bil to 5 gallons of gas.
I now only use the can premix in my small engines.

The main reason I bought it is for the flail mower knives.

When I purchased new knives for my flail mower, I asked about sharpening the old ones. I was warned not to do it because it would upset the balance of the rotary shaft. I think I'd try to do it anyway, but weigh each knife and make sure it came within a few grams of a mean. That might take more patience than I could muster, to I purchased new knives...

Good Afternoon!!!! 101F @ 3:30PM. Some clouds. Areas of smoke and haze are possible, reducing visibility at times. Low 71F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph.

I got that same "bad fuel" excuse when I had my two year old Stihl hedge clipper worked on at the local dealer. I'd been using the same fuel in the chainsaws with no issues, and the clipper had been run dry last time it was used. It never ran well from new, and instead of rebuilding the carb, they replaced it to the tune of about a hundred bux. I've never been impressed with that outfit, but they're the only game for miles around...

A stretch of insomnia last night was ended at about 3:00AM when the internet went down (again) and I went to bed. It still wasn't back up this morning, so I called HughesNet and got the usual run around. Then miraculously and supposedly all by it self, at least according to the service person I was speaking with, it started working again. I didn't change a thing on my end, and I'm certain she did something to the modem via remote control to kick it back on. Really bugs me when they make it sound like it's something on my end, but I guess that's what they have to do to prop up their fake reliability statistics.

Picked up new glasses yesterday and the prescriptions are worse than the old ones. I knew it wouldn't be any good when I saw he'd actually reduced the correction, especially in the right eye. Can't see anything out of that one except blur. Will have to call the ophthalmologist next week for another appointment. :muttering:

The van mechanic said he had to remount the accelerator pedal because it was sticking. I had to cut away and replace the sheet metal under the pedal to repair rust perforations in the van that he said was rust free, and at the time there was no cable to connect to. There was a linkage to hook up and it ran fine when I was done. I think I smell another excuse. He was supposed to smog it today, but still no word...

Eric's too clever for me. The only thing I saw out of the ordinary was green, and around here that sort of thing isn't all that unusual.

Mowing done. But not without excitement.

Managed to get the trunk of a 16 inch Samoan palm between flail and rear tire. Not that I haven’t mowed that dozens and dozens of times ☹️. Edged just a bit too close. Of course this is all on a slope, Tractor turning up then along slope, with tree on lower side, Tractor high side. I know I should have gotten a pic, but didn’t think until too late. Initially the end of the flail was just beyond the trunk just an inch or so, but I did not want to risk damaging tree so figured I could maneuver out around. Didn’t anticipate that instead of the front tires turning they just slid on the wet dirt causing the whole tractor to slide further down. Only way out was to totally unmount the flail, get my forks, pick up and move flail to flat ground. Worked perfectly.
That is until remounting flail. Remember earlier discussion about PTO locks? Mine is the pin type, which I do like, but apparently today I just didn’t have the strength to push the pin and push the collar at same time. But I did find a solution. It’s possible to hold the locking pin in with a C clamp. Still took me a couple of tries, but worked. Sorry about no pics.

I thought it was half blue, not green.

Hint, look on a table top for a “vase” holding yellow flowers.
