Good morning!!!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 90° with sunny skies. Yesterday plans went down the tube. Except for enjoying the nice weather. Decided to repair a small leak in front hydraulic manifold for grapple attachment. It's fixed. But it took 3 hours to get it off, repaired and back on tractor. No more tractor leaks. Forgot wife has a doctor appointment today. Then PT for me. Maybe scrap yard visit will happen tomorrow. The 2 Weeping Mulberry trees at back of house need pruning. Good morning to get that done.

Roy, them auditors always find something wrong. They feel they are not doing their job if they don't. Good luck with the audit.

Eric, first come first served. Need get out there earlier. :D

Mostly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!

Don, lately I have been using EBAY, Craigslist, and Facebook to sell items that I no longer need. EBAY worked best. But is expensive. The other 2 worked well for local sales. Just follow the things to watch from spammers.

Good Morning All.

Happy birthday MG!

Billy, I will find the link for the landscape cloth I finally used, after all that work in this big garden putting down terrible quality cloth from Lowes.
I found stuff online, commercial grade with lines for rows, that is simply awesome. Now the trick is to find it for less money.
But there really is the "right stuff" out there.
I have rows of cloth almost a foot off the ground from the grass growing underneath. The cheap stuff won't hold up to walking on it either, much
less pulling a rototiller over it. The good stuff does. Will find the link tonight, need to order another roll myself.

I think the cheap stuff is only meant for under the gardens where you put mulch. Never meant as a walk on fabric.
All those wasted staples.

Happy Birthday Mostly. May lots of wonderful things happen today for you.

Mostly, Happy B-Day.

Late start for me, 50's this AM. Cool. Mid-80's today, not much planned today. Probably yard maintenance and what not. Piddly crap like sticks and branches and a few chops on some bushes that are in the way. LOL. Got 2/3's of the roof up on the run-in. Ran out of energy doing the over the shoulders work, especially staring into the sun all day.

Have a great day all, be safe.

We have some nice light shade this morning. Unfortunately it will soon all be gone as the only white stuff in the sky is a criss cross of vapour trails from an unusually busy Monday morning exodus of planes.

I found a great spot to spend an hour or two on the bank of the larger pond. There are no fish in there, but it does have the benefit of having a few trees where I could hide from the mid day sun. There is one alder in particular that offers deep shade, only problem is -

Roy, hope only the odd minor non-conformance comes your way. You're a pro, luck is only allowed if it's been fully documented in your quality manual :)
Looking at pic on my phone, thought those were rocks, till i saw other comments, went back and zoomed in on it.

Good morning! 70s to 90s chance of rain.

Happy birthday Mostly.

David how many acres have been added to the island?

Did moms grocery shopping and delivery yesterday. Since the move, it takes an extra 2 hours but that time was recouped when it only took 30 minutes (with both of us working) to mow/edge/blow the yard. In fact the so much lawn time was save a nap was also included.

We have several landscaped rock beds in the yard with fabric cloth under the rocks, there are still weeds especially at the seams the edges and each place the fabric was cut to plant landscape plants and each place where any amount of dirt was left on top of the fabric.

Got a bumper crop of weeds under my landscape fabric. Canalope vines keep sliding off. 0707181015.jpeg
I have rebar pinned on the side, has't pulled it yet.

It's a nice morning, the low was 54* and overcast and no wind. We did get some rain yesterday afternoon it started about 4 o'clock and ended about 7. But we only got about a half of inch. And the temperature dropped down into the low 60's. Today is going to overcast this morning with a 30% chance of showers and clearing skies this afternoon with a high in the mid 80's.

Work on the welding project yesterday and got that part of it done. But I need to practice my welding more, but I think it will work. Not sure what project I'll work on today.

mostly ... Happy birthday, glad you had a good day.

Hope everyone has nice start to the week.
CWB.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like we’ll hit the high 90s early every day for the next ten, but will manage to cool down to the high 60s overnight. Those are still above average temps, but it could be a lot worse.

Happy Birthday, Mostly! Many happy returns!

Got both tanks coated yesterday, and instead of putting water in the left over liquid and letting it harden, I re-capped it. I found another small can of it that I re-capped after using it last year, so I opened it up, stirred it, and re-capped it again. I’ll see how well it set up later this morning when I look at the stir stick. This coating supposedly hardens with exposure to moisture, and with the humidity level down in the teens yesterday, I don’t think it got much. In fact, I left both tanks out on the back porch over night in hopes they’ll be dry enough to reinstall today. The instructions call for a 96 hour cure before filling with fuel...

Hope everyone’s week gets off to a great start!

79°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today. The humidity stayed, and now the heat is back this week.

Took the line trimmer for a long walk yesterday, and got a lot of places I'd been neglecting for awhile, particularly the ditch by the road and the one that feeds it down from the lake. Both had been quite wet for awhile, and it finally got dry enough to walk through without sinking. Some of the weeds got thick enough that the line was just breaking off on it. Need to go back with some loppers to finish those off.

Had a very disgusting experience on Saturday morning. Wife and I cancelled our golfing plans to help her father with a rental property he has in our hometown. He had been renting it to another family member for many years, and about 8 months ago she stopped paying the rent. After repeated attempts to rectify the situation, she got angry and made some regrettable remarks to him. The city had her evicted three months ago over the condition of the house and the outside property, and condemned it. My Wife has been going with him (his hearing is terrible) to court several times over the past couple of weeks to get legal access to the house again. All of the legal stuff was resolved last week, so we went Saturday morning to change all the locks for him (he's in his mid-70s and starting to slow down). The Wife climbed a ladder to an open 2nd story window to go in and unlock the doors (he had given the tenants the last of his spares). She came running out the side door almost gagging. What we found inside was the most deplorable case of filth and hoarding I have ever seen, in pictures or otherwise, and the house just reeked of rotted food and animal litter. The lower level, a family room and utility room, were piled so high that some of the grid pieces and panels were pushed out of the drop ceiling. The stairs were literally covered in cat feces from bottom to top. All of the rooms upstairs were covered with stuff about 3 feet deep in most places, higher in others. There weren't even paths to get around from room to room. The kitchen had rotted food laying out all over the place. I changed the door knobs and deadbolt locks on the three outside doors, and got the heck out of there. Even having sprayed myself before going in, I still found dozens of fleas crawling around in my socks when I got outside. My Wife actually cried a bit afterwords. This was the house they were living in when she left at age 19, and she found it almost unrecognizable. Most of it was neglect, but some of it was obviously intentional damage. Two of the three door knobs had the keys broken off in the locks, and one of the deadbolts had been twisted 90° beyond the stop point, which twisted the shaft so it wouldn't come out except by force. Sadly, this cleanup is going to cost him a lot of money.

Happy (belated) Birthday, Mostly.

You shouldn't need any luck with Audit Week, Roy. I suspect your company will do just fine.

Thanks for sharing those magnificent pictures, David. Looks like a lot of fun.

It may not be a fine English side-by-side, but this is the first new gun I've purchased in a long while. It uses table salt for ammo, house fly tags are free and there's no drawing to get one. Accuracy is very good but range is a rather limited three feet, but you don't have to worry about ricochets. Didn't take long to make the first kill, as a clueless dinner predator landed on my shoe and was quickly dispatched, then smeared into oblivion by said shoe. The main quarry will be Yellowjackets, but maybe I should keep the sting salve handy until I work on my accuracy?

I haven't bought any new guns for awhile either, RNG. I was thinking about one of those salt guns about a year ago, and The Wife poo-pooed the idea, suggesting she would not be happy finding salt all over the house. I might just buy one anyway and stash it in the gun safe ... see how long it takes her to see it. They seriously look like fun.

Prayers for all

Be safe

My bulldog is not a groundhog dog, just showed him to her and she walked over towards him, when he ran she stood there and watched. If it was a cat she would have chased him for a week.

Their intended target was house flies, and I found out yesterday that common table salt doesn't have enough energy at 18" to kill or even stun a wasp. Didn't get stung, but didn't get another shot, either. Think I'll try some Kosher salt, a little coarser grind than what's on the table, next. If that doesn't work, I bet there are hacks out there to get more zip out of 'em. Oh, if you get one, they make a "garden" version that is supposed to be more potent. That's what I bought, and I'm glad I didn't waste money on the not garden variety.
