Good evening all. 78F for the start, partly cloudy, calm wind. Not so windy on golf course, windier on lake, high temp 96F. Bike ride this morning, lunch then golf we all decided to take boat out. That went well, put plug in at house :). Also did start it up on the "muffs" before leaving the house, check for water flow at the "peahole", never know where mud daubers will build nests  Some technical issues with fish finder, got sonar turned off and reading the manual tonight to turn it on.
prayers for all.

Congrats on the boat, I learned in my years of boating, that I never left home without putting the earmuffs on it and starting to check everything.
Another lesson I learned is all boats run perfect in the backyard

Good day to all, .9 of rain yesterday, much needed. Pretty 68 this morning going to 78 today.

Installed a new flagpole light, put solar film on front storm door, too dark for my liking but I’ll give it a few days. Cleaned out two closets and a cedar chest, made multiple donation runs to HALO, got my new dump sticker, a new garden flagpole and some new post top lights for the deck, a few were out and with batteries costing half what the lights do it’s not worth the effort.
Sold the other Cub mower deck 54”.

Another busy day ahead and a bluegrass concert later after the car show after installing the flagpole and lights.

Have a good one and God bless.

Our Utility Room, has furnace, washer, dryer, wash tub, pantry and closet. All closed off with Louvered doors. The previous mentioned cabinet and a small freezer are in the open area. Water heater and softener are in cellar.
Here is a picture. Cabinet is off to right next to freezer. Pantry is louvered door on right. Furnace and washer dryer are behind doors on left. Closet is to right of handle in picture facing the pantry doors. We have a visitor for next week. Our sons dog. This is our dogs room also.

Looks very neat. We have that same boat/shelf in our guest bathroom. Is that you with that monster fish in the photo? If Eric saw one of those swimming in his pond, he'd still be there until he caught it, but corn might not do the trick.

Good morning all. The companies making sun screen cream had a lean time last year. This year they must be on for record profits as we are in for another all blue sky weekend.

With a can of sweet corn for bait, I headed off for an afternoons fishing yesterday as soon as the first cloud came over. Unfortunately it turned out to also be the last cloud of the day. Sun was out again within 10 minutes, it felt like I was sitting with my back too close to a bonfire. The west side of the pond used to have lots of cool willow trees, then when the alien plant invasion happened, I cut them all down to let the wind stir the surface up, never expecting to be wanting to hide from the sun. :duh:

Caught a few fish but I lasted only an hour before finally admitting to myself that it wasn't much fun being cooked, so I headed back home in search of some shade. Maybe try again next week.

Don, if you'd like some more cycling inspiration, the 3 week long Tour de France starts today with a gentle 201km ride down the French coastline.

What kind of fish, Eric? It's been many, many years since I used corn to fish for members of the perch family.

Have you ever got Shingles Shots. Especially the latest one. If you have never had Chickenpox could get it from someone with Shingles. Not good in a elderly person.

I KNOW I had the chicken pox when I was 7 years old; my wife doesn't know whether she had it or not. But we both got the Shingles shots a few years ago. And of course, they now say that's not good enough; they've got a new one that's better.

But my 88 year old neighbor has had the Singles and it ain't pretty, as you said.

68 going to 80. Cloudy and pleasantly windy like a northeaster, made great fun throwing the Frisbee for Coco this morning. Should get sunny later.

Didn't get but a brief shower yesterday, although a few miles away they got a big storm.

More string trimming and some lopping today. Have a section to mow and will be able to get to that early since not much dew. Plan to put out 2 Jap. beetle traps...waited until after the threat of storms had passed.

Don, glad you're getting into the bicycle again.

RNG, hope the smoke is not getting bad or the fires close.

One of our late summer delights is feeding the garden spiders once they've built their elaborate webs. We're already seeing young ones that hatched. That reminds me of a photo I need to post that my wife took.

A VERY pleasant 46 right now...and a VERY pleasant predict high in the mid 70's.

Chores: dump run and, once the grass is pretty dry, mow the lawn, then the field

It was 50F here outside and with windows opened, the indoor temperature downstairs was 60F this AM. I have a similar plan with similar weather anticipated. I need to take my weed/brush whacker in for repairs to a local dealer. This guy has been very helpful to me over the years and I really have not bought anything from which he could make $. I need a pruning/limbing saw. I think I'll give him my business.

Soon I start systematically closing off the house and covering the windows as the sun starts tracking and indoor temperatures start rising.

Ron- I have no complaints about the quality of the hotels' coffee nor the included morning breakfasts throughout our travels and stays, but it is really nice to be drinking my own coffee this AM....... Now it's back to a "Don approved" breakfast gruel (150 calories) + whatever available fresh or dried fruits. And lots of coffee.

I am talking with the H/C guy today about getting the A/C replaced with the additional zone. We are eligible for $ rebates. He was talking this coming Tuesday.:D Poor Brogen will be staying at the kennel during this project. We have walked the "perimeter" 2X already this AM. I see 3 hours of mowing in the near term. If I do not cut this vegetation soon it will be with the rotary mower.

The wild strawberries, raspberries, and blue berries are still blooming and fruiting around here. This will be a good year; maybe I'll be able to gather a few on my own. I have been mowing paths around the best patches. To make it easier on me and it creates a doggie maze for bonehead.

I hope that everyone has a decent weekend w/o pain/injury and everyone on the mend keep mending, and those who are walking and talking stay that way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

Good morning! 70s to 90s today with a chance of a shower around 4:00.

Eric when Lance was doing the Tour we watched it, it was very inspiring. Of course now we know he had a little help, with my endurance and speed there is no question about doping.

Ron, you have the bench in your hallway to graduate to a full drop zone just add hooks behind the bench for your coat.

Finished adding extra shelves in the pantry and increased the storage area 50% by adding 160 sq. ft. more shelving.

All the OTA tv channels are coming in this morning, do they up the power on weekends?

I did spinning for 30 minutes yesterday without the class, we only have class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Is the past tense of bike spinning - spun? I have a long way to go to catch up to Mostly.

Today is my wife's Great Aunt's Birthday! Happy Birthday Aunt Gladys - 101 today!!!!!!! She still is very much with it, lives by herself, but has realized because of her vision can no longer drive.

"..... One of our late summer delights is feeding the garden spiders once they've built their elaborate webs. We're already seeing young ones that hatched. That reminds me of a photo I need to post that my wife took."- Bill

It's a great form of stimulation and amusement. I have been feeding spiders most of my life  I did this to a Costa Rican wolf spider. The South/Central American wolf spiders' bites are necrotic. The North American species just really hurt. I lost the CR pic files :(, but I have some pics I'll try to find and post here later. I need to start the chores.

Spoke to the H/C guy. Tuesday/Wednesday is the tentative date.
