We still can use water by filling pressure tank for storage but not long than min so we don't run well to dry so were gonner rough it little bit. ;)...good thing. about this its not 20F or colder, plenty of gallons of water to be had.

Enjoy the afternoon all.

I dislike water well problems enough that we proactive replaced pump/wires/pipe in well last year. We also replaced pressure tank and control box. We should be in good shape for awhile now.

Well, back from the ortho doc... He again stuck a big arse needle in there...only pulled 35cc of fluid this time. Good news was no blood in there now. He said PT "isn't for everyone" and recommended to discontinue it. The good part about that is he said to "do what you feel is comfortable, if it hurts, just stop". I can live with those orders.

Upon returning back up into the mountains, we could really see the smoke plume (reported to go up 25,000 ft) from the forest fire....watched the news and it is now over 8,000 acres...HOLY COW! Went from 400 to that in a matter of 8 hours. No containment at all. Lost 20+ structures/homes and evacuated 80 more. The area that is burning is a big tourist and ski area. Lot of retirement and vacation homes there.

RNG, yes, I will be stuck in the office. I am a paramedic captain so I usually get to train new recruits and teach continuing education courses. Not a bad gig, nice and cool inside, but days sometimes seem reeeeaaaalllyy loooonnngg:zzz:

Jay, glad to hear that wifey is almost back to her normal....somebody has to keep you in line :D I appreciate the support during my 'meniscusectomy' and mcl tear. (Had to use a big word)

PJ, sorry to hear about the house situation. Maybe worth it to hire a restoration crew to maybe at least clear it out so you guys could go in?

Don, take it easy while moving in heat as bad as triple digits....you need to be able to enjoy your life change afterwards...

Man, don't envy your situation....we had to deal with problems on 2 different wells here. Don't miss them one bit. It was a hard bite, but spent $25 g's to get community water 4years ago...best money ever spent. I hope everything works out and is a relatively easy fix.

Update; platform built, 16x20' and 40 minutes of me moving gravel

That was the first two loads. He was making a round trip in 30 minutes, so I had lots of gravel to place after the last load was delivered.
The times on the cameras do not coincide with the clock, yet. The video was off one of the security cameras.

Well, just got word my son and DIL have evacuation orders. Forest Fire started near their home. They were able to get out of work earlier today in Durango and head home to Hermosa CO. They were able to pack up some essentials and things of importance. Got the dog and the bird. He sent me some pics, pretty much on the mountain in their back yard.

Authorities are pleading with people to not fly their drones in the area because they are interfering with the air attack. My son took a video of 2 Chinook helicopters going right over the house, you could hear the sizzle of the water hitting the fire. That's way to close! They don't have much time to get out.

The forest fire north of us is now at 18,600 acres. They evacuated an entire town, 200 structures in the way....

Asking for your thoughts and prayers for all those being threatened by these 2 fires.

Good evening all. 78F for the start, windy, mostly sunny. High temp of 96F, wind gust to about 23 mph and sky cleared off then started to cloud up a bit near sunset. Bike ride this morning, went to another boat dealer to look at boats, dog decided no walk tonight :confused3:
prayers for all especially those affect by natural disaster.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 83F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

That's a LOT of golf balls, MG! And a LOT of eggs, too! Ever launch one with your lawn mower?

That's a heck of a thing to happen to the architect/builder, David. We all take chances in life, but not usually with such spectacular results. Kekoa seems to have it easy on that oversized dog bed, though.

Drew, I thought this was a family rated group!

Been getting two or three wildfire reports a day here now, Ted. The grass is all dead and brown, er golden, and people are still careless with their cigarette butts, trailer safety chains, and BBQ ashes. Yeah, we've had two garbage trucks go up in flames from coals in the garbage cans. Hope you get some good news at the ortho doc's, even if it does mean going back to work. But what does "light duty" mean for an EMT? You gonna be stuck in the office for a while?

Yesterday started off simple enough: Pull the valve covers and tighten up the head nuts one more time, then monkey with the screw adjusters on the valves to get the clearances back. The left side didn't even need adjusting, a good sign that the head gaskets are done squeezing themselves flat. But one nut on the right side was already loose, and thinking back, it was loose the day before, too. That's a sign that a stud is pulling its way out of the engine case, and sure enough, that nut wouldn't hold torque when the time came. Took a LOT of heat with the oxy-acetylene torch to get the remains of the threads to break loose (I think they put 'em in with Loctite at the factory), and careful drilling/threading with lots of grease to catch the chips (the hole is open to the crankcase in back) and it was ready for the insert. Good thing I made lots of extras while I was at it, as it means changing the gear wheels to get the correct feeds for the metric thread on the lathe. From there it was just a matter of installing the insert with some red Loctite, and the stud with blue, then slipping the cylinder and head back into place, but it was three o'clock before it was done. Just enough time to get grocery shopping done in town and take care of an errand or two. Don't need any more days like that, thank you very much.

TGIF, at last!:drink:
Y'all watch out for those forest fires.

RNG, these work quite well, but are costly and work best if you buy the special tools to install.

Roy and BEF hope things get better.

Good picture Sodamo. But sad.

I could use some golf balls to feed the snake instead of eggs.

Thank you all for the prayers.

Good night and prayers.

Second day of winter with about another 90 to go, woke up to -1ーC and a brutal frost on the windscreen, not a horse in sight, they all retreated to their shed for the night.
Has warmed up a little and we are expecting a top of 14ーC with clear skies and no wind, great recipe for another frost tonight.
Got about a ton of firewood to split to keep us warm tonight, a later in the afternoon job.
