Weather is overcast and cool, but warming through the day.

Ellen just sent me a link to Humble Pie’s 30 Days In The Hole! I need clarification.

I listened to a ton of Humble Pie in my youth, including some on the radio last week (I guess I'm still young) but I got no idea what Ellen means.

Good morning! 70˚ cloudy heading to 80˚ then the cool front hits with rain at 7pm and the temps should in the 40s by morning.

Too many big words early in the morning.

Sometimes sinuses can cause a horrible phantom tooth ache. I've been to the Dentist and he could also find nothing after a few days no pain. ???

Could that be the case if the tooth is in the lower jaw?

Looking4new raw oatmeal? Is that like old fashioned Quaker Oats out of the container with apple juice? Sounds good like a soft granola. I would do that but instead of apple juice I would throw an apple in a blender to get the extra fiber from the whole fruit and if too dry add a tiny bit of water.

45°F and dense fog this morning, going up to 69° today with more storms expected. Most of the heavy stuff went around us to the north or south last night, but the thunder rumbles were rattling the lids on things around the house.

Eric, The Wife and I have taken to quoting from LOTR when we miss the "normal" meal times at our place; second breakfast, noonsies, afternoon tea, ... the standard nomenclature for us is breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not sure why, but I've always thought English "tea time" was at 2:00 in the afternoon.

We had a new Gander Mtn store open near us (well, about 20 miles) in O'Fallon, IL, then it closed about a year later. I was curious about that store from the beginning, as they already had two stores in the St. Louis area, and I wasn't so sure that the area could readily support three in addition to the Bass Pro and Cabela's stores. Frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with that store, mostly their prices. They had a "Yuuuuge" selection of firearms, but their prices were just short of MSRP. It'll be interesting to see if Camping World reopens all of them. I haven't seen any activity at that one since they closed.

Cold this morning 2*, today is going to be in the mid 40's with sunny skies and windy.

We got back late yesterday afternoon from taking the grandsons back to SLC. We had a nice weekend with the family.

We had a light dusting of snow after we got back and 30-40 mph wind.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good morning everyone. The day started out sunny, but by tonight I will be seeing mixed precipitation and mostly rain/snow showers the rest of the week.

Eric- Thanks for a new word. I had one "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" by a Saint Bernard previously. It was impressive display of strength. I really do not want a repeat experience.

Thanks for the + dog posts. Brogen is settling in really well. It already seems like he has been in our household a long time. He prefers the bare floors to the two dog beds situated stairs and downstairs. His "safe place" is our downstairs bathroom which is "normal" for this dog's background. He's going to the vet tomorrow.

Has anyone here ever heard of masticatory muscle myositis? The vet tech who I spoke to never heard of it and she is really competent.

That apple and oatmeal mix reads like good eats. All kinds of fruits and nuts could be added too.

LS- Good luck tomorrow.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

warming temps (doesn't freeze every night anymore).. partially cloudy, cold wind.

I don't know what "masticatory muscle myositis" is, but it sounds expensive.

Yes you do.

Especially if you have been dating for 30 days.

The question is have you released her from her past life of sadness or does she need releasing now.

Believe me, now is not the issue. If you know the song it has nothing to do with that.

It was a joke, shouldn’t have posted, easily misconstrued. It was a you had to be there deal.

Hawkeye- Just about anything involving St. B.'s is expensive. Right now the MMM is in "remission" and the dog has been getting "holistic" supplements. Knowing what i now know I will have to break the kibble down to a smaller size. One of our vets practices alternative therapies like chiropractic and acupuncture. A few of our dogs have had really good results with the alternative therapies (+ meds). I see some pending vet expenses starting tomorrow. All I have for this dog's medical records is a vaccination slip from a veterinarian's office. :(

David- I can relate. Delivery personnel are among my few social contacts. I have not seen our FEDEX driver since we stopped ordering dog food from chewy.com. I placed an order Sunday evening and it arrived today. That FEDEX van is always packed with chewy.com boxes.

Took easy way out on the flag light. Ordered correct one off Amazon. Another one of them nasty cold north wind days. No rain yet.

NWS now says we're under a wind advisory; may have winds up to 40 mph, 20% chance of rain, and the current temperature is 80 degrees and sunny. In reality we have a very slight breeze; quite a nice day for sitting outside in the shade. And I'm tired after mowing, trimming, and edging the neighbor's yard.

That is exactly it, rolled oats and apple juice. (I pay dearly if I get into milk) Try it with fruity yogurt, it is good that way, too.

Cooked oat meal makes porridge and a substance I do NOT like. I had way too much of it as a kid. It is like eating mush.

I was on my feet for 8 hours today, most of that planting. Last five hours was pushing a Earthway seeder up and down those rows. And then raking them all by hand since the seeder didn't get the seeds low enough consistently; I'd find the seed on top. In this soft soil, some you can just push in with your finger but I wound up doing quite a bit of raking today. Got all the non GMO corn planted. Still have two pounds of corn to go, maybe do that next week. They predict a pretty severe thunderstorm here tomorrow afternoon and I have visions of all my corn washing away so glad I took the time to get some extra soil on top. Unlike my beets and carrots which totally washed away three weeks ago. I reordered a few more packages of beets and carrots, but not as much as before. When I plant them I guess I'll have to put straw down on top for the first week.

Chatted with head of Food Bank, made an appt to go see them tomorrow along with my three one gallons ziploc bags of pak choy.
Carnage in the garden.
It's going to be brutal, off go their heads. And everything else too! ;)
I probably have about 150-175 of the pak choy and an unimpressive 49 traditional cabbages.

I planted another tray of "fancy beans" today and cheated with a few tomato plants from the feed store.
Normally I don't grow cherry tomatoes but they had a dark variety I wanted to try. Most of the tomatoes I'm growing, or attempting to grow,
are the darker varieties.

Also flung 400 pounds of triple 10 on the corn fields and my neighbor's personal garden area, which I had already tilled.
Then had to clean and air blast dry the flinger.

no wonder I'm tired... time for a nap before dinner.
