A light covering of snow for us this morning. Fortunately it will soon be gone. Unfortunately it's heavy rain that is doing the melting

At least it stayed dry yesterday for when they came to take away my old dumper. It was a bit of a tight fit but once onboard the new owner was happy to have a "new" piece of kit that almost matched the color of his truck. It looks like it's going to a good home and is now destined to spend the rest of it's days in the woods.

We don't usually get June bugs here until July...Japanese beetles come in June.

Henbits and purple deadnettle are blooming all over...prettier than grass, but will die out with the heat.

We hiked down to the creek yesterday afternoon, and it was up high, flowing over top of our little bridge...since no big rain for the last week, we hiked upstream and found that the property owner had busted out a beaver dam built on his pond spillway...never seen the water up that high in his pond...the beavers had dug into his dam, too.

Drinking an excellent coffee from Zambia this morning. My son brought me some green Ethiopia coffee beans which I roasted yesterday afternoon...will let them rest a couple of days before tasting.

Heading to the dentist today and fingers crossed she can see me.

I've heard of pak choi or bok choy but never pak choy. What ever they are they sure look good!

thanks, it's all the same thing, lots of different names for same baby cabbages.

Today and tomorrow high seventies, those cabbages are really growing.

Our best cabbage comes from Bent Mountain and mostly shows up in the fall. The mountain critters around here would devour everything in sight so my dream garden is only that until I have time time to create a secure area. So much to do and so little time

First cup of coffee has been poured. 15° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44° with sunny skies. Had a good visit with son and his family. Took a little while to get kids into enjoying the visit. They got a Aprils Fools joke played on them at home. Got sent out in the cold morning to collect Easter Eggs. April Fools no eggs. I think they were Leary of me doing something similar. But a 16 and 13 year old should no better. Shouldn't they. PT this morning then have to find out why light that illuminates our flag has stopped working. I did get last of the sod picked up yesterday. Ready for the rain forecast this week to start greening up the lawn. But with below normal cool days forecast not much going to grow for a couple of weeks.

Buckeye, hope the bug goes away quickly.

David, I remember trying Boone's Farm or Annie Green Springs in the 70's. Only took one morning after to convince me to never drink that stuff again. I have graduated to more quality wine. Mostly mine own. Never drink Red wine.

Little melting yesterday if any least those gusty winds die down and nasty storm stay south of us today.

I see an inch of rain coming in here next weekend with temps getting down to 40. Wonder if that's going to be another big storm to sock New England. It's snowing now North of here, up in PA and NY. My temp gauge says 55. Much better....

Morning appt at lawyers to sign new will. Then heading to pick up some more 10-10-10 at feed store. Best I can find around here is about 14 bucks for a 40 pound bag without buying skid quantities.
