25 again this morning, should warm up mid week. I have a lot of work this week, I’ve gotten behind.
Discovered Ellen’s hard wired smoke and CO detectors are malfunctioning. Fixed the smokes with a good cleaning and blowout but the CO was a no go. She has a wood stove and oil furnace, not a good situation.

26 going to 51. A few small patches of snow remain in the shade from last week.

Raccoon got us up early again this morning. They usually run off when Coco barks. This one stayed in the sunflower can after barking, and after I cut the lights on and knocked on the glass in the door. I have a trap, guess I'm gonna have to use it.

The wrens are building a new nest on top of the outside speaker on the screened porch...seems to be their favorite place. I took the door off for winter to make moving firewood in easier, so they have been roosting there all winter. My wife even placed a small piece of Christmas artificial greenery on top of the speaker to give them shelter...now they have woven real leaves and materials into it.

Good morning, met Ellens mom and dad, great folks! Mom has Alzhiemers but was having a good day. Dad showed me his tractors, all 23 of them! Plus a 29 MB kit car, home built children’s train with 12 cars, antique carriages, one repro built by Otis Marine. Hundreds of antique tools and toys, two whisky stills, etc...
I’m in love dad! LOL He is 81, looks 70 if that, walks like a 40 year old. He was impressed with how many antiques I recognized including the mini washing machines and mechanical rub board. Met her special needs sister who made my day with a big hug.
Invited back to see more stuff.
Now I know where Ellen gets her personality and sass!

Hope things work out even better. Her dad sounds cool.

went to look at what time the sun would come up and was faced with a lot of twilight options I'd never heard of.

so if you start early in the day, very early, you can tell your wife you are going out into the nautical twilight.
sometimes my late wife thought we had arrived there when we got lost in the boat...

What do you mean you "discovered" her smoke detectors?

She opened the door in the wood stove and got a puff from a sticking flue, the detectors were barely audible and the CO detector was dead. Sorry, I went back and finished the post.
I also fixed the flue. She’s a very independent gal, but I’m gradually breaking through and helping where she needs it.

Drew sealers that lowes carry are not worth having see if there is a sealmaster distributor close by if you want to do it yourself. Looks like Raleigh is the closest

12 and going to a high of 46 and sunny. Wind SE 10 mph.

I have to go to the city (Markham) tomorrow, so I will leave here at about 2 A.M. (stupid o'clock) and it is supposed to rain tomorrow. I hope the rain holds off until I get south far enough that it is a softer rain than what we would get here. The meeting starts at 8 A.M., but I want to have breakfast on the way and before I get there. Motel room tomorrow night and an all you can eat Chinese food buffet, then up to the boat on Wednesday on the way home.

This will probably be my last post until Thursday.

that is exactly what I need to know,, many thanks. Will hunt down Sealmaster. I want to do this right and the effort is the same.

Drank first cup of coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 51° with mostly sunny skies. Yesterdays trip to visit Aunt and Uncle was very enjoyable. But a long day. 105 miles each way. At least it was all freeway. They are both in there mid 80's and have a hard time traveling. Took my Aunt that lives near with us.
Off to PT this morning. Then some yard work. Hope the warmer temperatures will melt the snow in shaded areas.

Little meeting the parents story. When wife and I went to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. They said no. She needed to marry an Italian. Next day I got a call from my wife. Come and get me she said. Had all her stuff packed up and arranged for a room at a ladies house. Her parents did not come to our small wedding. But when they found out we were going to have a baby a year later. They became the best in-laws ever. Great people trying to live the way their Italian heritage had taught them. My dad was the problem on my side. His comments were, "watch out for them Italians. You know they all belong to the Mafia.". My Mom made wife's wedding dress. Randy, glad your parent meets went well.

Good Morning!!!! 40F ! 4:45AM. A good deal of sunshine. High 64F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.

Still no rain in the ten day forecast.

Finished magneto and generator installation on the old bike, and once I got the carbs primed properly, it started right up. Ran long enough to verify that the timing was very close to perfect, then peaked idle fuel mixture and balanced them at low and high RPMs. Have no idea what "low" and "high" mean, as there's no tach on this old gal. Forgot to check generator output, but couldn't get it to start again once the DVM was hooked up. Flooded it, so still need to get the hang of what it likes. I did drain the old gas and fill with fresh stuff, and will try some new spark plugs today. I have two offers for swapping my modified flywheel for a stock one, so I picked one yesterday and let the fella know. Now to bone up on swapping flywheels. Hope it doesn't involve re-shimming crank end play. I know it involves building a puller, but doing so wouldn't be my first rodeo...
