My neighbor has something like that, a bit smaller. It has a pipe coming out the top though-- he bottles what comes out and it will probably kill most bacteria.

I was thinking it looked a lot like a boiler I once owned, made by the famous Alvin Sawyer.

Drew, where were you when I was talking generators last week?

29 now, was 30 at 6pm, 36 at 11pm, strange fluctuation.
Still don’t know about this Sunday storm.

Got my new garage door opener power head installed, extremely simple job. Both doors back functioning normally now.
Ed, mom was like that for a week after heart attack a couple of years ago, nearly lost her 3-4 times, but now she’s fine and will be 95 in a month.
Prayers for you guys.

Hard to convince someone that should spend $600 on a walker.
Doesn't Medicare pay for part or all of this, or just the most basic device?

Medicare paid for the basic walker when I had a knee replaced. In fact, it was delivered to my room in the hospital. I didn't think we NEEDED the rollators, but I wanted them. So I didn't ask a doctor about prescribing them; I just bought'em.

Drew, have you had a chance to mow with that F series, yet?

My grass is growing like mad, and I don't think my mower will live through this season. Wondering if early spring is a good time to shop...any dealer/manufacturer specials? You guys have about convinced me to go the zero turn route.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 25° with light snow this morning. Heading to 32° with cloudy skies. Need to clean off walkways with a shovel. Then off to PT. Costco shopping after that. Stop at HF to see why they would have a tent sale with 12" of snow on the ground. Need to put the caulk tools and supplies away again when I get back.

RNG, maybe your next robot vacuum should have a name like Benson. :D

Ed, prayers for your mom.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

I bought a front mower because the Zero Turn was a back killer and always needed 2 hands to keep it going. Need one hand available for beverages.
My JD and Kubota dealers loaned me 4 different mowers to try on my place. Only regret is not getting 4WD. I use the tractor for those areas or cut down hill with the front mower.

28 high of 46 wind 8 to 14 gusts to 26

Wngsprd Gravley was having a sale on Z Turns very comfortable seats efi engine 60 in deck maybe check those out. Wife mows four acres with our toro that is 13 years old 60 inch deck 27HP efi. Mows that in about an hour and fifteen to thirty minutes. Front yard is 14 degree slope. The mower is a mulcher deck and does really well. The seat is very comfortable and mows much faster than rider or tractor and efi easy on fuel. The toro and gravely both get high marks from guys I know who use them. I generally research things that we buy and try to buy the best I can afford and generally get rid of something not because it's wore out but I'm tired of it

If I'm drinking water that is I will stop even with tractor or else more of it is on me rather than in me. Steering is all in the wrist

Makes me think of a glitch in the law in Va. while mowing the grass if consuming alcohol and one appears intoxicated you may be issued a DUI by the law

Plants watered, everything packed, trash out to end of lane, time to sit and relax until I leave for Garden Club meeting this morning. Taking a tray of 32 tomato plants, the ones that fell over from three feet up and got all jumbled, have no idea which variety is which, but I know it's one of two.
Since I have over 200 tomato plants now growing in little pots, I really really need to give some away.

Yes, I did get 45 minutes on the Kubota F2690e yesterday Billie, for the first time. I thought it was going to be set way too low for the lawn, but at two inches, it was fine. Have to lift up on all roots. Very heavy deck, whatever it hits loses. Pretty noisy, need to wear muffs, but sure gobbled up the little bit of lawn I did. Odd handling, almost like a z turn but the rear end sticks out so I'm learning a new set of clearances.
Decent ride too. 2wd, I'd scalp the ditch edges if I ever got too close with this thing so otherwise I'm mowing on a pool table. No use for 4wd.
It went around my tree mulch rings very nicely.

Engine would not get above one bar of temp after 45 minutes in 50 degree weather. Cold heart...plus it was under freezing last night.
Or a very powerful cooling system but seems it should get hotter. I was running at only 2600rpm, down a good chunk from WOT for break in.
2600 rpm is pretty fast for my tractors but not this thing. I forgot to peg the throttle and see what it was governed at under load. At least it has a digital tach. No analog gauges, just idiot lights.

24 and going to a high of 28. Winds NNW 15 gusting to 21 mph. 2-4 cm (1-2") accumulation. That is on top of the inch and three quarters from the last couple of days. I will definitely plow today. The block heater is already lit.

Buddy that picked up a load of acid last week to take to Winnipeg and drop (load is destined for Edmonton, AB) is on his way back to Toronto to get another one. I guess there are two tankers on the haul.

Re; lawn mowers. I bought my ride on mower last fall. My reasoning is that most stores don't want to sit on something that big and bulky all winter long if they don't have to. So I get a hold of the store manager and play 'lets make a deal'. I usually come out pretty good.
Now with the BH for the Kioti, I can't do that because I've only bought one other item from that dealer. So I just pay what he wants and be done with it. He does give me breaks other ways.

Stay safe everyone

Not any more Ron. On my zero turn Fastrack Hustler one of the selling features was that the steering handles stayed where you put them, so you can enjoy a beverage while mowing without stopping or going in circles. The second selling feature was a really big comfy seat that made the ride smooth and optional front shock absorbent spring loaded front wheels. The rear tires are extra large with low air pressure requirement.

RNG, sorry your experiment with a female robot didn't turn into true love. I guess I won't look at them Monday when I go to Costco. One of my chores when I was a kid was to vacuum the house. I kind of liked it...strangely soothing and instant results...my wife does most of it now, but I don't mind when I need to take a turn.

The real deal breaker, aside from the price of that particular model, was the thing seizing up on black or dark colored floors. The behavior was inconsistent, as the mock slate porcelain tile in the kitchen and guest bath didn't give it any trouble, and neither did a black bath mat. For that matter, the 8'x10' area rug in the great room is the exact same pattern and color as the 5'x7' area rug in the master bedroom, and only the one in the master bedroom gave it problems. That said, most of the Roombas have the cliff sensors now, so it's likely all of them would be subject to this problem. The wild card is the software, which I believe varies quite a bit from model to model. It could be that the high end versions have just outsmarted themselves, creating problems where none exist. If you're at all interested in the one Costco has, I'd give it a whirl to see if it'll work in your home. Costco has a great return policy, and if you're not happy after a week or two, take it back for a full refund, no questions asked. I saw them on the way into Costco when I was in town yesterday, and was tempted to put one in the basket myself.

FWIW, there's a comparison chart at the bottom of this page that'll give you a good idea of how the models differ, feature by feature:
