Good morning!!!!

Life has been very relaxed over the last few days with only 2 lambs and 1 ewe to look after. Then the first of the ewes and their offspring returned yesterday, now I'm having to carry water from the house as all other supplies are frozen. That means the weather bucket is out of action, so it's back to electronic instruments to find out that last night went down to -5C/23F.

LFN and others with game cameras, can I ask how long your batteries last ? I bought one from a lesser name brand a few years back. It takes good pictures but it's a pain to use with it's non-intuitive set up procedure and batteries last about 3 days, even if in that time it has only taken half a dozen still pictures.

Good morning. Quite cold here. Trying to get myself outside, by sitting in the warm and pouring over ads for tractors. I'm looking at the Belarus 320 line right now. Base model BELARUS-32: Minsk Tractor Works A 3 year old one with cab and front 3pt hitch (not that I need the latter) is significantly less than an equivalent Japanese import tractor with cab (which my wife insists one). And it is with an Italian Lombardini engine. I am sure the shifting will be nowhere as nice as the Yanmar AF-35 that is on its way to the importer from Japan, but I keep telling myself that a tractor is just a tool to get a job done to support what we're trying this year to finally get in to-- raising cattle, as well as moving around gravel and such.

A Russian friend who breeds horses has a 321-- funny thing is that I wrote him yesterday and he is now looking for a FEL for his-- so I'm going to see if I can drive around his sometime this week or next and see what the shifting is like, etc.

I'll pass on being 13 again. That age must have worked out better for some of you than it did for me.

Up to being about 11, I played with the boys and "chase" with the girls who lived on our street and never really thought of "growing up". Life was great - fishing, shooting, playing in dirt... :dance1:

By the time I was 13 I realised I really liked girls and regretted that I had chosen to go to a "boys only" school. All I wanted to do was grow up. :(

Something happened once I got past 15. Girls wanted to play chase again (with slightly different rules to the game). Life was great. :cool2:

At 17 I met the girl I'm still chasing today. Life was terrific. Thought I'd finally grown up. :cool2: :cool2:

Now I'm 62 life is as good as it's ever been - though doubting I ever did grow up. Spend much of my time fishing, shooting, playing in dirt... :dance1:

marvelous post Eric, sounds like contentment to me.

60 degrees out, rain coming in for most of day. Colder weather coming in too, keeping an eye on the night temps.

My hands are swollen from too much garden raking yesterday but I did get beets planted, first time to use an Earthway seeder, which could not have been simpler. Then I went through a huge pile of soaker hose left to me by prior owner here and half of it was good. Other half will need about a dozen fix it connectors putting two torn pieces back together. I have lots but all too large, for my 3/4 inch water hose, not this much smaller ID. That sounds like a good project on a rainy day, fix the hoses for non rainy days.

52 right now falling thru the 40s and rain on my door step showery until afternoon

Cleaned up property line from garage down towards house lots of dead wood and fallen trees from neighbors property onto hours. Used trusty chain saw 260 pro and pole saw. Raked entire area until darkness came. Probably about an hours worth left then on to next area from house to street. Need to add about 20 tons of topsoil and seed and straw

Glad to see Don made it back and Whipper was too!

Prayers for Riptides his wife and all others who need them

Good morning all. 50 now going to 54 with a 20% chance of showers. Got a call from rehab yesterday that mom's breathing was bad and that they were sending her to the ER. I went in and sat with her for a couple hours and talked to the Dr to make sure they covered everything. They have admitted her and I haven't checked on her this morning. I was so worn out from going in that I could hardly function. Still very tired, need to take it easy today.

Don, glad you got home safe.

RIP, Praying for you and your wife.

Prayers for those in need. Ed

I had to drive a Belarus back in the mis 80's and it was *##@%**. To go from 1st to 2nd you had to shift with one shifter low, forward, 1. then to get to 2nd you had run the shifter through low, forward 2, and there were no guides in the shifter and if you missed it by a 1/8" you had to start over. Low- forward- 2. That was truly the worst tractor I ever drove. Hope they have improved over the years. Ed
