Good morning all, 38 here now going to 53 and 70% chance of rain. It rained during the night, don't know how much. Thank you to everyone for the prayers and well wishes. If I could get past the violent coughing life would be a lot better. Never coughed like this before. Have drank over 2 bottles of tussin with expterant with very little effect.

Drew, We are rooting for you and your big garden. I for one wish I could stop in and help but.... Pace yourself and you will get there.

Ron, prayers for you and your wife, Not just today.

yeah, I might stop.
but this time, I'm chucking the whole thing in there, not cutting them up. Which is what the commercial potato farmers do with their big
automated down the hopper planters. The frugal part of me wants to cut every one in three pieces, but...maybe I'll get bigger potatoes this way.

First row potatoes were set down perfectly and nudged into the soil. Second row potato pieces were dropped in and rolled over if necessary. Remaining rows will be whole potatoes.
Will be interesting to compare output and sizes per row. Like a high school science experiment. In fact I grew potatoes for one year in high school, different amounts of water and fertilizer and graphed the results. Boring presentation, but my family said the potatoes were delicious.

I feel blessed having missed all this flu and sickness. And it's finally getting sweat band warm here. Yeah.

Went outside to get organized for my cleanup (put things away) projects. While most of the rain is missing us. Everything is covered with a thin sheet of ice. :thumbdown: Back in the house for now. Until ice melts.

Incredible weather we're having this year. Our LOW for the night was 61, currently 67 at 6 a.m. and going for a high of 75 with a 60% chance of rain.

And we're all getting older and in worse health I guess. Tomorrow we have a forecast for a 90% chance of rain. And I have to take my 88 year old neighbor to a doctor's appointment, then grocery shopping. Since he is slow getting in and out of the car, and can barely get around with a walker, I hope it isn't raining too hard at the time.:laughing:

But this morning, I've got to take my wife to a doctor's appointment to get the stitches out from the surgery she had on the first day of this month to install the leads, battery pack, etc. for a neurostimulation or neuromodulation system. There's also supposed to be a young lady from the manufacturer of this stuff meet us at the doctor's office to do some testing, programming, and teaching of the system.

54°F and light rain this morning, going up to 65° today. Supposed to rain pretty much all day here, and likely most of the week. We sure could use it.

We got about an inch of snow Saturday morning, then it turned to rain as the temperature warmed, and it was all gone by late afternoon. Got out Sunday afternoon to clear the leaves out of the ditch by the road. Much more conducive to flowing water now.

Wife has been getting bids to replace our retaining walls at the sides of the walkout basement. Some were eye openers. One was quite reasonable. Still checking out the reasonable guy, but looking like he'll get the work.

20 and going to a high of 36. Wind SSE 11 mph.
Freezing rain warning in effect!It will develop later tonight and last well into Tuesday, so they claim. The weatherman hasn't been right yet this year, so why would I believe him/her now?
I have lots of ashes IF it happens.

I've got nothing planned for today, so I will get right at it.

The sunrise has disappeared behind the advance of clouds bringing showers later this morning. Up to 38 after staying right on 29 all night.
I hate cloudy dreary days since Lynn died.

Topps, I remember the winter of late '82/early '83. IIRC, we had 6 weeks of cloudy weather and cold rainy days. I pray you can call up a loved one and invite them to lunch or something like that.

We have a handful of ducks on the pond. Looks like mallards from here.
