I think when it goes to the dealer in spring to get the backhoe installed I will get them to change both hydraulic filters and top off the oil. While they are at it they can replace the ignition switch, too.
I know right now that they are going to argue that there is ATF where the hydraulic oil should be and I will tell them that it is only John Deere red dye nd the hydraulic oil is as it should be only red.
After they get done with it, then I will put the straight pipe on.

Good morning all. Forecast and view out of window both agree - it raining and has been all night. The sheep don't care, they are enjoying the novelty of being let into a field that still has plenty of grass.

I got to sample some self inflicted pain at the weekend while helping to clean out a cattle shed. All I did was stand in the shed and watch for a while the pigeons shuffle along the steelwork, then turn 90 degrees to my left to walk out of the doors. My shoulders rotated to follow the direction my head was going no problem, however my feet refused to move - I hadn't realised how deep I had sunk into the gloop. At this point my lower back took exception to this conflict and gave me what felt like an electric shock followed by equal mixes of pain and embarrassment at what had happened.

Fortunately there were only a few cattle present to witness this. They later took pity on me and cleaned 2 wheels on the Iseki untill they shone like new. Cows with power washers ? Nah, just the irresistable attraction of tires soaked in poop, then rolled in straw.



Back is much better this morning, though I think it's hankering for another day of taking it easy and the rest of me is happy to go along with that.

Good morning all, 6 this morning going to 31. Sorry I was grumpy yesterday, been tired lately. Just took it easy yesterday, nap in the afternoon. Hope to get some more tool hangers made for the french cleat system in the shop. Will see how it goes.

Don, We had that same blender and it was ok. We use ours at least 3 times a day blending food for the boy and fruit for the oatmeal. We got a Kitchenaid and like it much better and lasted longer. we are on the 2nd kitchenaid.

-3 this morning. Made it to 25 today. Currently 23. Snow showers moving in. Main clipper system supposed to be here mid morning tomorrow. Additional 2 inches forecast.

Last half of birds scheduled to leave tomorrow night. Talked to the guy in charge of the producers today. He says everything is still on schedule and they don’t plan to change it. He did say he was out today and liked my snow removal efforts, but was not impressed with the county.

So let’s hope that I will be empty tomorrow and can start decaking Tuesday. If I can get the decaker moved in here. I share one with my in laws.

Around here they use to use a Bobcat for decrusting, but no idea what they do now with all these huge operations.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 14° with light snow this morning. Heading to 22° with off and on snow. Hose replacement did not go good. Purchased wrong size facet end. Amazon will have correct ones here tomorrow. Not much planned today. Take wife shopping will be enough.

Eric, I self inflicted some pain this weekend, too. Went into the crawl space under the house yesterday to put some outdoor Christmas decorations away. Initially, the crawl has about 5 feet of headroom, then decreasing further back to about 3 feet. Enough to tempt me to try to bend over or squat and walk, rather than crawl. Well, my wife went inside the house, thought I had gone down to the barn and left the crawl space door open. I had just crawled further back, out of site, to look around and inspect. She came out and locked the door...from the outside. No way could I get out. So after a few minutes of yelling and knocking up on the floor joists, she rescued me. I was squatting where I should have been crawling to get out, and ran smack into a ductwork steel strap hanger...scalped myself of about a 3/8 inch piece of scalp and hair hanging off. What a mess. I asked myself: why didn't I have a hat on? I usually wear one with a headlight when I go under the house.

303 price on Amazon jumped a full five dollars a bottle since last July. I did a negative review based on price, not the quality, and they refused to print it.
Great when you are complimenting...the 303 folks seem to be pulling an Epi Pen special and since Amazon gets a percentage of the take, they have little motivation to
look for better value. They are all thieves and that's why Bezos is so rich. Correction, good capitalists. I no longer trust Amazon to have the best price, really pays to shop around, even using a shopping bot as has been suggested.

Not sure if I should be complaining or saying thank you. Got my electric/gas bill via email this morning. Bill for last 34 days was $287.08. $173.48 was gas. We do keep house warm at 74° and my shop is heated to 50° all the time. If I look at it as a per day bill to looks a lot better. $8.44 per day is not all bad.

11F and cloudy @ 07:00, going up to a high of 27F supposedly, with the next batch of snow coming in in the PM. Didn't catch the amount they were predicting.

Apparently the Road Department came up with a plan to get out of plowing our road: ... tear it up until we request that they quit.

Somehow I feel an appearance at the next City Council meeting may be somewhere in my near future.

That should be fun ... for me anyways ... others ... well, mebbe not so much ...

Ed we all go through bummer days, but the morning thread helps.
Eric my mom and me both miss the cows but one can only take care of so much. My parents could never leave their truck in the field the cows would really lick the mirrors.

38˚ heading to 60˚ the last day this week to get things done outside before the weather crashes, Freezing temps and ice till Friday.
Mad an early fire call - one of those I've fallen and can't get up. Luckily it wasn't Mom and the guy who fell was not hurt.

Christy came by this weekend and pick up her great grandfather's dining table and her great grandmother's wash board. She was interested also in the room of old wood I had collected. I gave her a few pieces to work on and told her she could have all she wants. She is ready for winter to stop and spring gator season to start.

It's still cold out here. 12 degrees. Waiting for the sun to come up.

Managed to escape the wife yesterday. Daughter took over for two and a half hours. I went to a Home Depot and just enjoyed shopping for light bulbs! Who knew? Then I went to a grocery store and bought food and a 12 pack. Ahhh..... BEER! I also picked up healthy foods and made a big batch of Kale when I got back home. The simple pleasures of a return to a new normal.

I also managed to see the miracle in Minnesota. Wow! NEVER give up!

wngsprd, if it makes you feel better, I plowed into my roof rafter putting my decorations away day before yesterday. And I was wearing a hat.

We are total electric; no gas. Our last bill was $122.39, and TXU Energy is predicting our next one (to be available tomorrow) to be $227 to $231.

I'm tired of Winter already. 28 degrees going for a high of 51 today, but a low of 10 degrees forecast for tomorrow night.
