Gotta admit, it has low hrs.

Told the wife yesterday, if i have to stop working due to health, i would sell the kubota to pay off our home equity loan, then house will be totally clear. Now, i don't think it will come to that, don't think I'm that bad off, but wanted to reassure her.

Embarrassed to report our schools are closed with 1/2" of snow. I'm on the east side of the county, snow is to the east.

19 degrees and snow started early morning, weather man just said that snow for another 8 to 10 hours at an inch or more an hour. Looks like we may get 10 to 12 inches with heavy winds and drifts. Poor visibility.
Just talked to a friend who I had worked with on a day like today I don't miss it,

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:15AM. Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High near 55F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Looks like we got about a quarter inch of rain overnight, sounded nice falling gently on the porch cover. And the weather guessers are calling for another half inch tonight and tomorrow. Snowpack in the Sierras is averaging only 25% of normal right now, but the reservoirs, other than Lake Oroville, are still above average due to all the rain last winter. Oroville is a long way below average because of the work on the spillway, and from the discharge rate, it looks like they're trying to keep it that way.

Sitting at my desk yesterday about noon I heard a large BOOM and the windows rattled. Turns out it was a magnitude 2.5 earthquake located about 5 miles south of here. None of the usual rolling motion I've experienced before down in the San Francisco area, and the first time I actually heard one. At the time I thought it was another round of blasting being done by the local electrical utility, and was surprised when I saw it was an earthquake. Then this morning, there was a magnitude 4.4 quake centered near Berkeley. More signs of the approaching apocalypse, I guess?

Hope those along the east coast can hunker down until the nor'easter blows through.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Don't be. Schools around here seem to look for any excuse to close these days, too.

I remember having to go to school through the snow all the time. I can count on two fingers the number of times public school was cancelled because of weather while I was there; once in grade school they sent us home ahead of a coming ice storm that really turned out to be a whopper, and a few days in high school after the Great Blizzard of '82 when we got 28" overnight.

Same here, the reason is because of liability lawsuits bus companies don't ant to be on the road and school systems don't want the responsibility. Way to many lawyers looking to make a living, they all think the government and insurance companies have deep pockets, there is a reason they are called ambulance chasers

That's a very good idea, Wng, but give some thought to how you'll keep that file secure. In the wrong hands, it would be a financial disaster. I use a password manager application called 1Password that works on Mac/iphone and PC/Android to keep that kind of information at my fingertips in an encrypted form. One password opens the application/app, and it will sync information between the desktop and phone.

Good point. I am planning on printing off the spreadsheet before I add passwords and logons...I will write those down on paper and keep secure. I'll be changing my passwords as I go through this process...haven't done that in a while. I'm sure I have over a dozen passwords, but do duplicate across some accounts. I just hope I can remember all of them. Also, there are many logons that now have challenge questions...not sure I remember what the questions are, or whether she would know all the answers...although she'd know many of them...maybe not "the name of the street where I grew up," for example, but probably "the name of the town where I met my spouse." :)

I don't trust the password managers...just me, probably okay.

I'll set up the spreadsheet as a balance sheet, with an asset section and a liability section.

Interesting, sideways snow, visibility is limited to the parking lot, lost visuals on roadways. Calling for 6-10 inches now, but the wind is in the 30mph range with consistency. All I can do is hear the wind howl against the hotel room.

Be safe all, hunker down.

And just think, until this year a coastal storm like this was just called a nor'easter.

Yep, and now it has to have it's own name and be called super storm.
It may have hit places that don't normally get snow but it's not the first time.
The news media would have you thinking it was the end of the world.
You southerners have some excuses but anyone that lives in the northeast, wake up people
it's called winter, we may have had some real nice mild ones the past few years but you
should be responsible enough to take care of yourselves.

The low was 17* this morning, it was in the high 40's yesterday. Mostly sunny today with a little wind, it might make it into the low 50's.

It's going to be warm enough to do some work in the garage today. Still working on the tool box, need to put some primer on it. Should be ok if I do it in the sun.

Hope everyone working or playing in the snow and cold stays safe.
CWB.

there was no way I could shovel my driveway but what to do with five to six inches of snow.
Solution was driving over it a dozen times with my Kubota UTV to pack it down and let the heat of the black
driveway melt it. Already melting in spots. Rest I had to shovel, two porches, pathways, gonna feel it tonight.
Think I'm going to go sit in the hot tub and look out over the winter wonderland. Power is on and no tree damage.
All good.

Be safe up North, going to be a lot worse than here

It's white out conditions now. The parking lot is no longer visible outside the hotel windows. Blizzard conditions have been declared.

All we can do is some PT, eat our munchie store, and watch TV. I feel trapped and am ready for enjoying snow storms at home. LOL.

Be safe all.

63°F and .01 inches rain.

An easy pace but productive day yesterday, hoping for same today. Had dinner with BIL and his GF, pleasant and he even picked up the check.

I think we still have snow on the mountain, Mauna Kea. Close enough for me.
The rest of you do be mindful with all this dreadful weather.

Be safe.
Have a great day.

A low of 20 degrees this morning, going for a high of 47 according to the NWS. But it was up to 29 degrees, clear and sunny, about 9 a.m. when I went out and got the lawnmower going with the bagger, just to get the leaves up. It only took me a couple of hours, during which the temperature came up to about 36 and I was sweating with my lightest jacket on.

12F and overcast, with a windchill of -4 @ 12:00, although the sun peeked out a little bit ago.

Today's project will be punching a hole in the one wall and getting the framing done and the door installed for access to that closet where the utility tub will be. Also need to frame in the door opening from the other room to close it off.

Fortunately, I already have a 24" wide door which was removed from previous interior construction when that was torn out. That it's only 24" wide is good ... as it doesn't take up too much wall space.

Unfortunately, the wall where the new door will go has electric running in it, so I'll have to deal with rerouting that around the door opening.

I did find out that Lowes actually carries the paint I was planning on using, in stock at the local store, so that's good as no wait for it when I'm finally ready.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day. Stay safe.
