Wife pointed out i can get the Sr discount at ihop. I never thought about that before. I thanked her for making me feel old. Lol

I refuse to take it then I would be admitting I'm old

Ed, dry air cools more rapidly than humid air, so a low dew point in the 8 To midnight hours often indicates a big drop in temps by morning. I’m sure Buppies or someone could explain it better than I.
24 this morning, 40’s today, not as much wind.
Learning new tricks, like grocery shopping, wash8ng clothes, etc... all things I’ve done in the past but am 40 years out of practice.

Think you explained it very well

Yep, I first came to Texas in 1967. Boarded a plane in Omaha, mid February, in about 18 degree weather with snow blowing sideways. Landed in San Antonio, to start my USAF Basic Training, with balmy 73 degrees. That was imprinted on my brain. Now I only go back in the summer. If I want to see snow, I can look at LFN’s pics.

Thank you Roy and others for their service to our country

Veterans Day - my thanks and appreciation to my brethren.

69°F and 1.13 inches rain last 24 hours, not finished yet.

A relaxing day with my wife - a blessing for sure.

Be safe
Have a great day

The cooler weather got me motivated to weld the legs on the titanium firepit. I might need to shore them up a bit. The are holes in them to mount some upright tubes for a rotisserie or grill. I don't have a clue how it will hold up to repeated heat cycles. It only cost me time and a bit for filler rods.

It sure is lightweight! :)

I used what I thought was plenty of argon, but I got in a hurry and got the welds too hot. But when I first started welding it, I decided I liked the purple hues from an artistic standpoint. It wouldn't bother me a bit if they whole thing turned purplish.

A low of 19F last night, 32F now and mostly cloudy ... high today of 36F.

I was out earlier and it didn't even seem all that cold ... shop was 45F when I went up there to start the fire. Had it up to 78F when I was up there yesterday ... :D

Friend supposedly coming over here in a little bit to help me get the LPGS upper frame back up on the welding table.

Kyle,

I like it ... looks like it would keep one's feet warm on cold day ...

Thanks. Now if I can get offline and go cut some firewood. How many times does firewood warm you before you even light it on fire??? :)

4 times at least and don't forget hauling the ashes.
1st, cut the tree down
2nd, buck it up
3rd, split the bucked blocks
4th, haul it to the stove
5th, burn it
6th, haul the ashes.
That is assuming you don't pile it.

Got the new speedqueen washer installed today. Used tractor and pallet forks to unload from truck and haul around to basement door. Old shutoff valves started leaking real bad after turning it back on, so ran to lowes for a couple ball valve bibs. So much nicer.

Depends on when you do it:

Summer ... too many.

Winter ... not enough.

Good evening all. 53F this morning, overcast and wind picking up. High temp 65F, wind gust over 20 from south and overcast most of the day. Went fishing on the lake, with 2 others, they caught 4 fish , I let one get away :(. Went to Veterans day dinner, lot of people served in the area.

Thank you veterans for your service :drink:

Just came down from the shop.

Spent all day up there cleaning and straightening up ... made a surprising amount of progress. Still a long ways to go though.

A lot of it will be organizing. A lot of junk and scrap to get rid of ... probably time to make a run to the scrapyard.

Did finally get that frame for the LPGS moved up onto the welding table.

Also ran the box blade over the ruts someone left me in the wood storage area. Better, but not completely fixed yet.

Dat is behoorlijk sneeuw. Stuur svp naar Texas!

You can have it ... we had about 18 inches in one 48 hr snowfall. A bit much. Not sure why the photos went sideways (they weren't posted that way) ... it was about -15 C (or 5 F) and I wear shorts all year long (easier getting dressed after a MVA injury a few years ago) ... cold - ugh.

Good morning all. The weather is not great, but who cares when there is some left over pizza in the fridge. This is a rare event and would pose something of a dilemma - to sneak a piece before or after breakfast cereals - but with Julie away at a crafting weekend I guess I can even share an extra slice with Max too.

Eric, for 50 pages of instructions, complete 1 page per day and you'll be finished before 2018!
You are a genius Wng. I was a little concerned I wouldn't finish the framework today because of the forecasted rain, now it's great to realise that even with yesterday's late start, I don't need to do any more for a couple of weeks. If I send you Julie's mobile number, would you do me a little favour and give her the good news about the new schedule, before she gets back ? :)

Good morning all, 27 going to 47 and mostly cloudy. 60% chance of light rain tonight. Got the shop cleaned up yesterday and broke down the styrofoam packing from the dust collector and the boxes ready for trash day. Will take it easy today.

Randy, thanks for the info, already thinking, rain tonight, higher humidity, not as cold. Praying.

Drew, how is the mouth? Praying it will be much better.

Don, if she is texting you got it. She will likely do fine.

Eric, Good luck on the new plan. :D

Here is a late Thank You to the Vets.

Have a great day. Ed
