An extra early morning to you all, clocks go back this morning. I wonder if they bother with this around the world?
Eric, great idea for acorn launcher. Isn't that what they call an oak tree? With all the talk about replacing expensive plate glass recently, perhaps make sure you are aiming it out in the fields, and for sure don't hit the sheep!
I think the father/son President Bush book due out soon should be a must for Christmas.
Combines finishing up soybeans now, big rigs in the fields all over, I guess the cotton comes next. They always seem to wait too long to pick the cotton here and it gets messed up by heavy rains. Rain which btw seems to finally be in the forecast in the coming week. We have been way too dry, and I am sick of dragging water hoses to daily water a lot of new grass seed put down.
Never got to supermarket yesterday, on tap for this morning. Then I start disassembling the three point hitch on the little Massey and try to free up the sway adjusters, both of which were frozen solid. Most disappointing to get out into the field yesterday, ready to practice with the cultivator and the stupid hitch was never freed up like I asked the dealer. Can't have the cultivator wagging back and forth chewing up the collards... I bet those adjusters were never touched in 20 years. They looked unused, just perfect. But frozen solid as could be. At least TSC has a complete set of new sway adjusters for about 90 bucks. The prior owner did nothing but mow with a rear mower for twenty years and likely never did anything with his three point hitch. So this will be a good test of PB Blaster and a big hammer.
Let's all say a prayer for Randy's Lynn this morning as he goes to her service. Toppop will do ok.
