Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 96F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

All this talk of woodstoves and snowmen already has me looking forward to fall. And it's still June! For one more day, anyway.

Managed to catch up with the mechanic at his shop yesterday, and he seemed genuinely surprised at my concern. He was even more surprised when I told him that I was making arrangements to pick up the van and farm the work out to other shops. That lead to another string of excuses, which I cut short by telling him he had just one more week to show he could make progress on the engine, and just the engine, or we were done. We shall see, but I'm not holding my breath.

Another wildfire close by across the canyon yesterday afternoon, followed by someone running into a tree with their car at 1:00 AM this morning in the same area that also led to a fire. Both were quickly contained, which shows how seriously the firefighters are taking things, a healthy change from the "just let it burn" attitude of just a few years ago.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the release of the movie Full Metal Jacket, the story of Marines going through boot camp and being deployed to Viet Nam. It was a good reminder that no matter how bad things seem in the Middle East right now, what was going on in Southeast Asia back then was far worse.

TGIF gang!

Good morning all!

Took a while to catch up. Grandchildren clapping you awake, Beemers leaking oil, warped rotor replacement, disking neighbors garden...Hope all of you are well.

Off today thru next Tuesday the 4th. So much to do, not sure where to start. I need to sell some stuff to clear out the barn. Nothing much practical to most online here. Science type stuff that needs a new home. Anyone need an RC glider, that needs a lot of TLC? It has a wingspan of around 12' and an electric motor with a folding prop. I believe it was a Kestral sp? brand? It will take someone with more knowledge and patience than I to get it in the air. No radios or lithium batteries came with it.

I won't get the high temperature for yesterday. But I might get the overnight low for this morning. My weather station said it was 34* at 6:30 am, it showed 74* for the high yesterday. The wind was 20-25 all day. The forecast for today is in the mid 70's with lite wind.

Got my lumber yesterday. I'll try to get that done today and start painting the house this weekend.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Down here in Texas along the Gulf coast, the corn is already being harvested. And we haven't even reached the 4th of July.

Wow, that's quite a wing span! Here is one of my hangar queens. Note the copious amounts of dust! Yes, I move planes around when working in the barn moving hay. LOL.

My oldest brother flew RC planes for many years, he had a real jet powered B-52 that dropped bombs. He and two friends built from blueprints/ mechanical drawings.

Hot and humid over the weekend, around 90 each day, storms a couple of times.

I need to mow, at least the front and sides, but it's dry as a bone here. Got to sharpen blades first, too hot for any of it, but it has to be done.

Wow, I bet that took a lot of $$$ and man hours.

While it was slow the other day at work, I CNC machined me a wax signet made of copper. I know you can buy these cheap online, but I wanted my own. Now, I just need to write some letters...:)
