Good morning! Sunny 76˚ heading to the 90s.

Where zucchini is called for use squash.

You can also make squash pie just use blended dates instead of the sugar and eggs and oil.

Ron I do cycle when the engine is off. Maybe I have to park set the grapple under a shade tree in the summer. Oh wait, I did that with the BH and it got crunched during a storm. I'm downsizing so no need to build another lean-to.

64ーF and clear skies this morning, going up to 82ー today.

Wife took the boy to court yesterday to resolve his recent driving indiscretions. He spoke with the prosecutor during a recess, explained his dilemma with his father not forwarding his mail notices since he's been living with us full-time, and got the charges reduced from driving on a "suspended" license to driving on an "expired" license ... which made a huge difference in where the decimal point was in the fine. $342 total, including fees ... which we had to pay, of course. He still has to take a mandatory driving course before he can get his license back, though.

I'm glad y'all got that straightened out.

The weather man sez one more day of rain before we get a few dry day. One of my newly planted pear tree dies from root rot already. I can't wait for a few days of dry weather.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High around 90F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

You folks sure have been busy the last several days. Congrats to the graduates, condolences to those suffering with bad weather and parents and kids, and best wishes to all going forward. We all have our problems, and no matter how small, they're the biggest problems in our lives and sometimes it's difficlt to keep things in perspective.

Motorcycle trip went well, finding some new to me roads, pretty spring flowers, and even some new friends. Such a fine group of people, all very friendly and helpful. Good food at the lodge, and in general at the mom'n'pop diners and restaurants I try to find along the way. On the way home I dropped by my vintner buddy's place to see his new barn, and what a beauty it is. 40'x60' with 20' awnings on each side, acres of nice concrete with built in floor drains, a regular garagemahall! He used the fiberglass insulation batts with the plastic vapor barrier on the inside, but covered the bottom 8' or so with galvanized metal to protect it. Nice touch and apparently not too expensive. The weather was a bit warm in the afternoons, but nothing like the 100+ temps of last year. Cool nights for good tent sleeping, but heavy dew in the mornings means I had to spread everything out yesterday afternoon to let it dry.

Today I'll probably wash the motorcycle and maybe mount up the sprayer and go after some weeds, but not much else planned...

Yeah, me, too, CjR. And, it was considerably less painful than I was expecting. Now, we just need to get it completed to get him back on track with the Air Force. He was originally supposed to leave for basic next week, but that's on hold until this is resolved.

Younguns are always in the back of our minds for sure. My oldest just gave up a high pay job in the six figure range for a political related job paying only a third of his previous salary. I hope he has his budget worked out. My daughter just did a very similar thing last year opting for research instead of high pay. Teaching your children high ideals has its own perils.

In other news, the $5 Harbor Freight transfer pump bailed me out. I made the mistake of letting my tractor ran out of fuel and couldn't get it going again. Slapping the pump right into the fuel line and stroking it 5 times primed my fuel pump easily!

53F this morning, these mornings sure remind me of growing up on the farm.. School out (or close to out), irrigation running on crops, plenty to do, long days but not too hot yet.

69 going to 84 today, overcast, humid
day probably, rained pretty heavily last night, over an inch likely.
Off to another doc appt this morning, then home to chip a brush pile.

last night enjoyed my first batch of fresh squash, brought over by an elderly neighbor who I didn't have the heart to say Donald I can't eat twenty squash, but the squash was good, cooked with a lot of fresh garlic and a little butter.
I ate the zucchini last night, will work on the yellow crookneck tonight. Not my favorite vegetable only because I was forced to eat so much squash growing up. The real problem will come when my new elderly friend shows up with another 20 squash....which means then I go delivering too.

My father used to have me deliver squash by the peach baskets to neighbors when I was young. I swear the neighbors would hide after a while...:D There's just only so much squash a person can eat. And now trying to keep carbs down, I can't immediately say oh make zucchini bread. There's probably some good vegan recipes Don has to get rid of/utilize... excess amounts of squash.

Send it here. I can eat it every day.

isn't it marvelous when it all works...bet you had a smile on your face after that.

doc visit was a groaner.
seems half my thyroid has to go, and I have a one out of four chance of having thyroid cancer, most likely not, but 25 percent odds you don't fool with.
Outpatient surgery, though fully knocked out. My nodules have been way too happy apparently. No symptoms whatsoever, picked up on one of many mri's in
that area. I am going to forgot about all of this and go run my chipper. There's a big pile calling my name.

absolutely beautiful day, cooler, feels great. Life is good.

Thall, you just have no idea how much of that squash the kids in my family ate. I don't think any of us each much of it now.

Don, thanks for recipes, will study

Low this morning was 41*,yesterday was nice got up to 84*. With a light wind made it feel good.
Today getting back into to the 80's partly cloudy in the afternoon.

We have a irrigation reservoir south of us on the Blacks Fork river. And still a lot of snow on the mountains asked a neighbor about the reservoir, he said they don't use it for flood control. The river is the highest I've seen it in 7 years. It washed out the subdivision road the first year we were here.
Our house is 50-60 ft above the river, so not to worried about it. But the people down in the valley may have some problems.

Hope everyone has a good day.
