Good morning!!!!

48°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 75° today. Chance of rain this afternoon, which is bringing a cold front through with it. High of 45° tomorrow, and 1-3" snow on Saturday.

The visit by the Lowe's regional manager yesterday apparently stirred things up a bit. Wife tells me communication with everyone yesterday was quite forthcoming. I expect after he left our house yesterday morning and went to the store, there was some serious derriere chewing. Their resolution for the missing foot on the 'fridge side is to install two more cabinets (upper and base) with a small matching granite countertop on the other side of the 'fridge to fill the space to the end of the wall. They are also going to add another shelf to the glass front cabinet over the sink, and move the light switches (yet again) slightly away from the stove panel. All of this at no charge, of course. Wife was somewhat happy with this arrangement, and agreed. They were also able to track down the missing 600ft² of hardwood flooring, which arrived yesterday. So, after the morning show-and-tell, the installers made some very good progress. All of the cabinets are in now (minus the two new ones), and the floor laying has continued. I expect they'll get most of that finished today.

Meeting at work yesterday with the engineers from Woods went very well. Nice guys, and very passionate about what they do.

It appears your house situation is clearing itself out. It usually does when you get management that wants to look good in the public eyes. Good luck to you the rest of the way.

well I went over and talked to him...his ancient JD 1010 is dead in the field, he has no money to fix it, to fix anything he breaks, to hardly feed himself. I looked at his disc, not too big, pins for three point were either missing, wobbly loose or questionable, so some work needs to be done on that, though I have the parts. My Massey will pick up a little more than 3000 pounds, though I don't have front weights. Maybe this is a good impetus for me to find out what they cost. Hopefully they are compatible with the grill guard on there now.

I told him to call me next week after the snow melted and things started to warm up and I'd come over and see if we could hook up the disc. Then I will run it for a little while, then give it to him. He needs to disc and then run a hiller which he didn't think my tractor would work with, though I have no idea.
The tractor has to come home here at night for sure.

And I, in consideration of possibly breaking something on my tractor, which really is unlikely, I get some seat time on a disc. This is when the advantages of 4wd come in, which this tractor lacks, but his old JD was 2wd so he certainly is familiar with that. Looked to be a 7 foot disc, manageable in sandy soil.

If he can hardly afford to feed himself, I think you are doing good things. I'm glad to see that.
What's wrong with his JD1010?

Good that your power came back. DTE president was just on the news, saying this is the largest outage in their history. Consumers also. We have been told Sunday before we get power back. Lost uverse tv and internet also. I've got 3 of those freaking pines down in the yard. Lots of small branches down also.

Have fun down there in the warm stuff, we are still in winter of sorts up here.

Got a call from neighbor. No power outage at our place. But did loose a 25' tall pine tree and a bunch of branches.

Thanks. Yeah, I will give credit where due. By day three of the incredible flustercuck, they had a regional manager on-site to get it resolved. He admitted they'd had too many complaints about the initial installer, which is why they parted ways with him. The new guy who was thrust into the proverbial fire has done outstanding work, coming up with solutions on the fly for many of the problems. The work he and his son are doing is starting to make up for the shortcomings of those previously involved. The stress level for me and my Wife is considerably lower today than it has been for the last couple of weeks.

Wife just sent me a couple pics of the progress on the flooring. The bedroom is complete, and doors and pulls are going on the cabinets in the kitchen.

that will be nice to come home to PJ.
My neighbor's tractor has a bad fuel pump and a bad hydraulic pump. I believe the latter is internal and a deal breaker.

I think it will, Drew.
Is that the same neighbor/tractor that was driving across your lawn last year?

The 40 is the one I want!

One thing about the 40 is it will only saw about a 38" log. The guides hit. It saws good but get at least one bed extension. Otherwise it's hard to saw 16' stuff. Doable but hard.

Lucky you, the mess will clean up. We were in Detroit for the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise for the third straight year, when the big northeastern power outage of 2003 hit. Hotels without working plumbing aren't much fun!

Made it up to 73 today. Snow storm for Saturday. Wonderful Kentucky weather.

Spent yesterday working on truck instead of sawmilling. Battery and alternator went out. Had to order alternator. They have 4 different alternators that fit my truck. Local napa only stocks 2 and my luck wouldn't hold. Picked it up this morning and installed it. Back to charging and then headed out to the mill. Managed to saw out some very pretty eastern red cedar boards. Cut out a cedar mantel for the local building supply house. Buddy is trying to get in with them to do some custom sawmilling. Specialty order, one of a kind pieces. He was happy to be turning scrap 50 inch chunks of cedar into high dollar mantels.

Drew, be careful with that plate steel. It gets real heavy real fast. You could scratch your tailgate up. Hope arm gets better soon. My wife is researching an old remedy for arthritis. It is a sulphur compound that can also provide other benefits. It is not just plain old sulphur. I will get some links to it soon.

Here is the link to the product:
Sulfurzyme Capsules | Young Living Essential Oils

A small webpage from arthritis.org concerning MSM:
MSM for Arthritis | Methylsulfonylmethane

My wife is reading that apparently, this has been considered a good remedy for a long time.

If anyone has tried it, care to comment? I just hate hearing about how much pain some of you are enduring.

Good evening all. 58F this morning clear and calm. Started to cloud up shortly after sunrise, temp hit 80F and light wind. Cold front coming through early tomorrow morning will cut tomorrow's high by about 10F and drop humidity :). Went to town this morning to get truck parts, pass. front shock looks like it had an oil bath, and plugs and air filter as well. Have one shock replaced bit more work because it is a coil over shock design. Will finish the other in the morning. Since I was waiting on the shocks, got the post hole digger handle replaced, had to counterbore the bolt holes since the new handle was larger than the old one and I had no replacement carriage bolts. At least progress is being made.

Always look for the studies and provide link to the research.
The link you provided did not have a list of the studies.

On mayo clinic website:
Since little is known about the long-term safety of MSM, it's no surprise that the efficacy also is unclear. Some studies have shown slight improvements in arthritis symptoms, but these studies were small and short term, so no definitive conclusions can be made.

Although there is great interest in using MSM to treat a variety of conditions, including arthritis, more research is needed to determine its benefits and risks.

I would be looking for studies like this:
Turmeric Curcumin & Rheumatoid Arthritis | NutritionFacts.org

Paver will be ready by 7:00 tomorrow after numerous updates to computers and repair of drive chain that was a TSB that we knew nothing about. Manufacturer knew of this problem and fixes if owners complain

22 right now...high in the low to mid-30's.

Going to be a seriously cold weekend and heavy snow next week is in the prediction.

Spring and summer are often the seasons for me to get an early morning call from a woodpecker. This morning was similar, however from a different species that I couldn't see but could certainly hear, a group of lesser spotted pile drivers, hammering in steel to shore up the railway embankment. They need to close down the railroad for some of this work and that is scheduled for this coming weekend - piling to continue all through the night !

Some say having these little disturbances in our lives helps us to appreciate what we otherwise take for granted. PJ, you must know all about that theory over these last few days ;), pleased to see it is now coming good.

David, you look to have some very contented pets. "Little" Kekoa certainly isn't going to be little for much longer.

Thomas think temperatures will be below normal for next two weeks or so. If all comes together the NE will get buried next week

60 temperatures falling into upper 20s by tonight snow possible for us Monday night but I'm not holding my breath. Most systems this winter have gone west or east of us
