Drew, nice pictures. I love seeing the old Woods RFM still on the job.

Larro, thanks, as soon as i saw that I thought of you. Big pulley and belts instead of a geared transmission.
New way more compact but not necessarily more reliable. The other MF had a newer Woods
version with a trans, and that trans looked fairly small. So I was standing there comparing the old and new. Pretty neat, like a farm museum. And I would sure like to see that stump grinder
working behind that 115hp tractor. Chips be flying.

Good morning, 57F here heading to 80F. Son called last night, I guess he lost his engine coolant and over heated engine on the Intrepid. Now has it at the mechanics, will have to see how much damage was done to the engine. Sounds like the was pump let go. He says that the temperature gauge did not day it was overheating. Hope it is a easy fix for him or I might be car shopping for myself so I can give him my old car.

I had an Intrepid as a company car years ago, more room inside than the competing Taurus, and handled better. And the engine sounded a little better too...
For about five years I bought all the company cars for the company, about fifteen people had them, and we keep the spec fairly simple.
I was the only one experimenting with the new Intrepid, and all of a sudden I was driving the owners to lunch because they liked the bigger back seat.
Hey, I got some good lunches in Little Italy/Chambersburg in Trenton NJ.
And the engine in the Intrepid, first one totally replaced after 1000 miles. Issues....

54 this morning and headed to 86 today.

Taking some time off from building, now that it's under roof. Wife's changing design a little. And I have some things that need doing in the chicken coops. Get ready for next flock. Did get hay baled yesterday. A whole 24 bales for a friend. His equipment. He just needed to be in two places at once.

Kev. Thanks.

Drew. Your ditching contractor seams like a first rate guy. You need to finder a framer just like him. Nice equipment he has. Nothing better than old iron especially when it is still working.

Good morning all! Recently returned from Montana. Flew into Great Falls, where my wife grew up...and then drove to Philipsburg to attend a wedding. Amazing part of the country!

Good morning. My wx station reported 158°F and 2.1 inches rain. Rain is correct, but rather than finally beating you guys temp wise, I think I have a sensor problem. Feels like about 72°F would be more accurate.

Be safe
Have a great day

Good afternoon! 65F @ 1:30PM. Scattered showers for the rest of the day. Won't amount to more than a quarter inch; not enough to even warrant covering the fire wood stacks.

Drew, looks like you found a very well equipped handyman!

Eric, glad you're enjoying your beans, and had the good sense to wait 'till lunch. ;) But when I was touring England I'd usually end up in a pub at noon for a ploughman's and a pint.

On the way to the mailbox I found these tracks in the driveway. They're bigger than my hand and from the four toes present was guessing they were made by a mountain lion. The neighbor thinks they're bear, but the lack of a fifth toe and no claw marks leave me uncertain. Either way, they were made last night, and knowing that something that big with teeth is prowling around has me thinking about a game camera. Any recommendations?

Sounds like a good idea. I wish we had something around here to cut the deer population down. It's hard to plant trees due to the deer eating them up, especially fruit trees. I was at a commercial orchard recently, they have 12 ft fencing around the whole orchard. Without it, you aren't in business long.

You need to try one of those 35 Whelens. :)

I would be totally worried for my kiddos.

I am going to agree with your neighbor- looks like bear to me. Seems like I can see a 5th toe in a couple of pics. A mountain lion's print from heal to toe is about 4"...these prints look oblong like a hind print of a bear. Either one would be cause for packing heat!!

I imagine the smoke has the local "residents" on the move. You might not see this animal again, but who can tell what other animals will be coming down the canyon.
