It will pay to get a low wattage iron. Very fine braided copper wire dipped in flux will soak up melted solder making it easy to remove the resistor wires and leave a clean hole in the PCB. Hold the fluxed copper braided wire down on the solder joint and apply the iron on top of the braid. Move the braided wire to a clean section as needed. Be gentle and don't overheat.
