24 earlier up to about 37 now. First day without that fever in about a week, I'm optimistic I'm starting to get past what ever this.
Have a good day folks.

I didn't get up this morning until 8:30 AM, but my wife was up to take my grandson to school and go to her parents to help them today. She left me a note that our outside thermometer said 19 F. The NWS at the Bowie airport reported 23 F as the low. We often are a few degrees cooler. It's hard to say what kind of accuracy our gage has. The upshot is that it was very cold in north central TX this morning. This hard freeze is about two weeks earlier than normal. This next week the trees will be in full color display.

It stayed around 30* all afternoon with a chilly WNW breeze. One of those days when you wonder how can 30* feel so cold. The pond has a skin of ice over it now. I think that will disappear with the warmer temps coming the rest of this week.

Good solar day though. The PV system is up to 24.2 AC kWh and still putting out about 2 AC kWh. And the sun warmed the house up nicely too, cracked a couple windows open when it hit 78* :).

Had the pleasure of replacing one of my line fence post with a terminal post so I can put in a 10 ft gate section. Took a lot longer than it did to install the post originally. So 1 5/8 post set in one bad of Quikcrete is now a 2 3/8 post set in 2 bags.

well that big cold wave got all the way down to you Larro. Glad your dog is ok, how about the alligators?:D
when we lived aboard our boat for three years in North Miami, we used to love to go out during these cold snaps and see
the local bluehairs all decked out in their minks. I bet half the fur in North America is in Miami...

Actually when it hits about 50 degrees the furs come out down there; it's really comical.
I used to joke with Nadene about how they would come alive in the restaurant and start running around...:D

Drew, I didn't have a fur coat, but when I had to go drip the water at our old house, I was bundled up pretty good. The cold weather does make the Gators slow and sluggish. Just tune in to ABC or ESPN two weeks from this Saturday and you can see it happen at the Swamp in Gainesville.:D

It is 36* now {2245} and the forecast has been lowered to 25*. There is almost no wind tonight, so there will be a white frost in the morning. I may just stay in bed and pull the covers over my head when Margie goes to work.

31 right now, a high of 45 predicted. Looks like it's going to warm up for a few days, then drop to highs in the low 40's next week...
