Took a four day trip to Lake Seneca & Lake Keuka, NY (SE of Rochester) this week. The weather cooperated, just a little drizzle one evening. Had a good time with our Ohio friends. We try to meet up once a year somewhere.

It's a nice area known for wine making. Vineyards all along both lakes, many with wine tastings. A couple microbreweries too. Another great area attraction is the Glenn H. Curtiss museum in Hammondsport, and Watkins Glen is nearby too. New York state is full of history.

Curtiss was an interesting guy. Sold and raced bicycles. Sold and raced motorcycles, held the land speed record in 1907 of 136 mph on a motorcycle he built. Then he got into planes early on. The museum is worth a visit, no tractors. Glenn H. Curtiss Museum Collections

Well I've got to say I've had better mornings.

When I found TBN I was spending time in the hospital with SWMBO on her second stroke.

Now I'm at the Vet's emergency with the cutest Corgi in the world getting cathed and waiting for surgery on Monday for bladder stone removal.

To the tune of $3k

There goes the enclosed trailer.

But at least we are getting paid and it's not SWMBO in the hospital

46 this morning and will get up into the mid 60's today.
Another day of playing in the leaves, piling them up for now and will use them to mulch the raspberries once they are trimmed

Usually 77 is one of the first roads going north and the last going south, flew to Vermont yesterday and with all the driving south, forgot all about it:laughing:

That said, even when I go to Richmond, I'll take Danville over in Virginia rather than deal with 95 lol

i agree about the 95 deal i have never seen it when it's not crowded.

had our first fire in the fireplace yesterday, and quickly overheated the house, opening windows, etc, but it was worth it.
Boy it smelled nice outside...we are one of the few houses in our neighborhood still with a real wood fireplace or wood anything. Everyone has gone to gas. It's like firing up a charcoal barbecue, people start sniffing and almost always say to themselves boy that smells good. Polluting of course, but smells nice.

I've been chuckling this morning on another thread. I almost posted this pic here but it would have sidetracked the thread I'm sure. And i sure did not want to offend our favorite gals from Texas.
And we are only talking about a couple of potatoes...

going food shopping this morning, I'll push and Nadene will ride the scooter. She loves driving that thing.

I haven't been to Quaker Meeting in so long, I really miss it, but so many caring people always ask the same question, and
there are only so many ways I can say my wife is dying without getting emotionally churned up, and then one sits in silence for an hour thinking about that, and it gets pretty hard to get focused on why I came. So here it is Sunday morning, and I normally am sitting on a very hard bench at 10am, but not today. I've been going to that Meeting since I was a little kid and my entire family is buried there, as will be I, so my connection isn't broken, just put on hold for awhile.
But on Sundays, around 10, I try to get a little quiet. I'm sure many of you do this in your own way, in your own time and your own place.

well, looks like we got a brief shower late last night. Other than that, another nice Fall day.
