Morning! Sipping my 1st cup of Joe. Headed out today to pick up a PTO driven generator. Whenever we loose power it seems to be off for days. With well water and septic that uses a pump that isn't a good position to be in.

Same situation with me, started the generator this morning just to make sure it runs. I pulled a muscle big time in my upper right arm yesterday so I'm more handicapped normal! :D

Lots of wind and rain, wind is still moderate, it switched to NW overnight and is very steady with stronger gusts. We're expecting hurricane force winds overnight tonight. The storm is predicted to pass about 75 miles north of us, more or less.

Best of luck Randy, lets hope it keeps its distance.

Good Evening all. Today's high was 55F and partly cloudy. Temps will be in the 50's for the next week or so.
Bill sorry to hear about your soon to be ex in laws, That was a crappy maneuver to have you break it to them.Guess it runs in the family.
Randy and all the others in Sandy's way stay dry.
Jamie good luck on that job. My PDA changed off of Daylight savings last weekend, guess it thinks it's in the UK :)

10-30-2012 Currently 42 degrees. Snow flurries and sustained wind gusts of 30+ with some gusts of 40+. High of 47 expected.

Need hot coffee this morning. 32 degrees with wind, freezing rain and snow this morning. Heading to 47 with continuing winds and clouds. Winds have been howling all night. They have been stuck around 30+ mph. I cannot imagine what 80+ mph winds would sound like. Today is garbage pickup day. I have a feeling it is going to have to wait until next week. TV reports show lots of damage along the East Coast and NE. Hope all are staying safe.
Good Morning All.

It was 42-43 when I got up at 0500 and raining fairly hard. prediction is for it to convert to snow sometime this morning. Everything is totally waterlogged. it is dark and I cannot see anything yet to assess any damage. Wife did not sleep well and was up at 0300 and heard no winds. I suspect we were JUST far enough south and inland enough we did NOT get the high winds that were predicted. That is a HUGE Blessing. I will know more as soon as it is light.

All the NJ, MD (Like Randy), and North East coastal TBNer's were in my prayers last night, they got it WAY WORSE than I did.

Be well all,
David

Hello all, been concerned about those affected by Sandy and am hoping they escaped much of the storm's fury...but I know a lot of the people will have a difficult time and I am sorry for them. Here it is 31 degrees, gusty wind, got some wet snow earier this morning. Will be a good day to remain indoors and I am fortunate I have the choice to do that.

David, thanks for your report and I am happy to learn you apparently escaped much of the wrath of the storm, and Randy, I do hope you have the same good fortune. Back about 1989 right after I moved out here, there was a 75 mph windstorm and I will never forget the situation...thankfully the only damage sustained here was the loss of half a barn.

Good morning! 48 with a high this afternoon of 75, not a cloud in the sky, no wind. This is the time when the people up north with motor homes start to think about Texas. On my last communication yesterday with my brother in NJ he had two trees on his house. Stay safe up there.

God is Good! Looks like MossflowerWoods escaped "Super Storm Sandy" unscathed. I just did a quick walkabout, Horses are fine, Grayson the rooster crowed (all still in coop), no trees down on driveway as far as the pavement, and none in the extended yard, as well as none in the current or future pasture areas.

The Horses still have hay left over from the extra I gave them last night, and were in better spirits this morning as the wind which plagued them had died down greatly.

The big pond has risen over a foot and is back to completely full. The duck pond has risen 6 or more inches, and still has plenty of room to fill before hitting the spillway creek I built last spring.

I believe we were Blessed.

I am praying for all those not in the same status as we are...

Be well all,
David

A Facebook friend and his family were staying in their beach house in SeaBridge NJ. Last night he reported water running in the streets.

I awaiting his "All clear"...

I hope Randy and other TBNer's are OK.

Be well all,
David

Good to hear! We are getting the leftovers here, nothing life threatening, a little snow and lots of wind. This will chase a lot of retirees south. Every winter, the 1st big weather event sends the snowbirds flying.

Good Morning All. It's (7:50 AM) Just put some coffee on. It's 43 F and Partly Cloudy right now heading into the 60's today.

Probably work on stacking some firewood today that I cut up a few weeks ago.

Hope all is well.

39 degrees and overcast.
I'm just outside of York PA which was just to the west of the path of the storm. Lots of wind, occasionally very gusty (and I'm estimating >50 mph) as well as rain. However, no damage, not even a downed limb or branch. Lost power momentarily, that's all.

Bunch of branches down, sleet coming down in pieces of 1/2 in in diameter. Very windy, nasty day. My chickens and goats have declined to come out. Not dumb animals!!

That was actually our biggest problem during Hurricane Sandy...dog just didn't want to go out and do her business. I had to go out first and stay out while she peed and took a crap.

Just goes to show that cats are smarter than dogs...my felines are very happy to do their business indoors when weather gets bad. Roy, I think sometimes dogs are blaming their owners for the crappy (pun intended) weather and their way of getting even is to make their owner endure it too.
