My garden is also fenced with 16 ft hog panels but the ends are removable. I only put the ends up during part of the year to keep the dogs from eating the peppers and tomatoes and the coons from the corn. This way I can get in there to rototill/bury residue in the fall and then chisel plow as well. I use metal posts and plastic zip ties and the ends go up and down in just minutes.

Cloudy with showers this morning, should be nicer this afternoon and a high of 12C/54F.
We mostly use raised beds so it's all hand work for us. If you are doing larger field work that a larger tractor and tiller would work well. We used to have a troybilt on another acreage we had and it worked great, had about 1/2 acre in vegetables.

And it is really sad when a girl's dancing partner is a hoe. It means I have to lead! :dance1:

Cardio be darned! You need one of these. I still have to lead when dancing, but it does the weeding work very well except for close around plants where hand weeding is required. I love my little Gas-a-hoe.

Ron Hall: Sorry to hear your mom has more difficulties. We'll be praying for her. One funny thing is that my killdeer's nest is about 10' from your normal parking spot. If you were coming for your normal visit, I'm sure she would vacate. She probably wouldn't see Muffin as being a friend.

I got my new headlamp lenses in my truck yesterday. The first one took me about an hour to figure out and the second one only about 20 minutes. I wasn't in any hurry. The entire lens holder, lens, trim rubber, and even headlight bulb came installed for $18.99 each. I just cannot believe how inexpensive these things are. My truck looks great with new crystal clear headlights and I'm sure I'll be able to see a lot better at night. The perfect weather made the job even nicer.

After I finished fixing the headlights, I fixed a flat on my grandson's bike and then took him and his neighbor friend fishing. Here's a photo of my grandson kissing a catfish for good luck.:D

jinman; After the fun I have had getting the garden ready and planted this year, if I it goes to HE double L in a handbasket again, I'll be looking for a gas-a-hoe. The one you showed looks small enough that most anyone could use it. What brand is it, and how much time do you spend doing maintenance on it? My hoe is pretty maintenance free, unless you count the wear and tear on me!

txdon; I am happy to report, I still have my toes!

Finished the hoeing, and got the okra in, and all watered! Now if we can just get some rain on Tuesday! Today was Hank Snow, Hank Thompson and Loretta Lynn.

On the plus side, I won't feel guilty drinking that beer tonight!

Planted a mix of 24 perennials, and annuals today, I have all raised beds and planters, makes flower gardening very easy. 68 degrees, wind died a bit and it feels nice.

 David, I'll bet you have a leash on your Mrs. now....you probably won't let her out of your sight for a year or so.....

LOL, not really, but you can bet I won't be suggesting 3 weeks apart anytime soon. Funny thing is, back before I retired we actually worked the same place various times, once she even worked for my boss's boss. We often hear stories about people who retire and suddenly they are wedded 24/7, and can't stand it.
