Good morning all,

50 and cloudy to start the day. Don't think it will amount to much though.

Saturday I went for a 4 wheeler ride up in the mountains. I came across a small forest fire I'm sure was lightning caused so I put it out. Continued riding up the hill. Looked around up high for some time and headed back down. Came back to the same spot and it was on fire again. I put it out again and headed home. Within a couple hours of getting home it rained on the mountain, so I hope the fire is completely out.

RNG, you are right, coach bolts would be good. Even better if the holes were square to match.

Which is probably why plain old bolts were used. Square holes cost more to make.

Is any provision made to keep the liner from chafing on the edges of the rings or fasteners?

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 6:30AM. Lots of sunshine. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad you got the upper hand on that fire, Lynn. Might be a good idea to report it anyway, just so "they" can keep an eye on that area for smoke.

Welcome to the asylum, Joe!

Today the weather will have a good try at breaking into the hundreds. Yesterday afternoon I pulled more drip line out of the ground, and found where the PVC risers were located, marking each one with a flag. I also found a few more root balls. Made my best try at breaking the new shovel; at one point I had almost all my weight on the handle, causing it to bend about 6", but the root ball gave up before anything else bent. Nothing's unbreakable, but maybe that shovel's pretty close. Temps were in the low 80s, but the sunshine was strong, and after an hour or so of that I was soaked through with sweat and ready for a water break. That turned into a cool shower as I was having trouble cooling down, then inside jobs for the rest of the day. Figured out the parts I need for the roof sprinkler system, just need an affordable source of supply for the sprayers.

I plan on an earlier start this morning for more pipe pulling, and likely more digging, too, but probably won't stay at it very long. I believe this is one of those tasks best savored, and taken in small doses over a long period of time...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Way to ride Mostly!

A muggy morning after a needed 2” rain last night. I’ll try to get the scaffolding in place for porch ceiling project and working out my arms for overhead work. 5 minute arm workout- get long, lean, toned arms - YouTube. (does anyone else find this 5 minutes exercise extremely hard after 3 minutes?) This should take all day and be a savory project as RNG describes.

Randy hope you are home continuing your recovery.

Mpham stop messing around and heal!

68°F and foggy this morning, going up to 77° today. Expecting more rain later in the day.

Didn't get a whole lot done outside this weekend due to rain. Wife and I got some smaller 1" chicken wire around the lower part of a partition section on Sunday. She'd put six duck eggs in one of the chicken laying boxes to hatch some more ducks, as two of our hens are quite broody. Well, those eggs started hatching over the weekend, so we moved them out to the small "holding pen" section, but put up smaller wire to keep the ducklings in. Four hatched, one didn't make it completely out, and one remains unhatched.

Avoided the mania of the Stanley Cup Parade and Rally in downtown STL Saturday. Lived vicariously through friends who went. Saw one hockey website yesterday suggesting there were as many as 1.5 million people there. They were expecting 1/2 million or so.

Also, got the F-150 back from the shop this weekend. New rear pads, new brake lines all around (rusted and leaking), and a new alternator. Drove it a bit yesterday when I had to go into Highland for some stuff, and seems to be its old self again.

Played around in my studio a bit yesterday evening, but got nothing substantial accomplished.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day.

Welcome to the Good Morning thread, Joe.

Asylum? Lol, i represent that remark.

Mid 80s already, calling for afternoon storms. Had rain come thru in the night. Woke up early, then couldnt get back to sleep.

Things still slow at work.

Good thing you caught that fire.

Snoops reported likely untrue. I'll check my Dad's library. Anyone have the original in your attic?
