Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.5C and it's presently 18.9C, calm & clear.

Just a 'puttering' kind of day... well, except for opening door(s) for Penelope to go outside. This is despite the daytime open door to the 'entertainment area'.

That's about it, take care all.

eclipse came, every now and then there would be a hole in the clouds and the crowds would go "Ahhhhh"!

I texted the wife to see if the chickens went into their cage (nightly ritual) and she said yes.

About 95% covered, with clouds the night lighting at the school turned on.

Good Evening.
Nice day here in Wichita, they let us outside to see the eclipse. Sky was clear, and got a good view through cheesey eclipse glasses.
Then back inside for the oral exam and checkride.
I now have a single pilot type rating that allows me to fly the jet without a copilot.
Realistically it’s more workload than I would want, and will likely never use the rating, but it was a good exercise for me to keep learning in my 70’s. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I’m here with my son, who also got the same rating.

We will be flying home tomorrow and I will be the copilot, he was in the right seat on the way here.

Here’s the box the lock us in, this was taken while he was doing his checkride.

I’m looking forward to getting home to my wife, dog and new plasma table. I’m not going to admit which order they are in……

The 2 4x4s arrived and I put them to soak up some used motor oil from the tractor. As for the eclipse...I didn't bother to observe.
As for root canals and teeth in general, I got all mine out in 1971 and haven't looked back. No I don't have falsies either. I can eat steak, pizza crust and especially like walnuts in the shell. Of course I discard the shell and eat the nut.
As far as I am concerned dentists are sadists.

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, mostly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind, variable cloudiness, and high temp was 79ºF. Did see a temp drop during eclipse of about 3ºF. made coffee to start day, putter then went out to mow. Had some motivational problems and watched eclipse on TV, sky was very clear here. got good nap in then went to ICVFD board meeting. Drew sorry tooth has to be pulled, and poor treatment at oral surgeon staff has little customer skills. Sorry teeth are giving you so much grief.

Paul glad you got to see eclipse. Are you restricted to specific avionic install or aircraft on the single pilot rating?.

Seeing all the people looking up with those cardboard glasses was probably more entertaining than the eclipse itself.

Yes, the type rating is “CE-525S” which is limited to the 525 series Citations. it’s curious that the CE-525 type remains on my certificate as a separate rating. The 500 series was just an authorization, not a new type rating.

Poured first cup of coffee. 41° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 72° with a few clouds. Lots clouds when taking Eagle photos at neighbors work place. Should have planned it for this morning. Will try again another day. Mounted chain hooks on tractor bucket. Moved pile of wood chip to neighbors to neighbors flower gardens. While doing Sassy walk found another group of rocks to take to neighbor. Watched Eclipse thru friends welding helmet. Did not get any pictures. Will get MMMower out of and trailer and cleaned up, greased and blades sharpened today. May get it mounted on tractor.
Turkey doing its Spring Dance.

Good Morning All.

Interesting day.
Eclipse was a bust here, too overcast. Listening to the banter of the radio DJ’s while driving to town at least made missing it funny.

Good, but long appointment at eye doc. Got a good exam for new prescription but Dr suggested we do a laser clean up first, so back in two weeks. Apparently it’s possible to get some sort of cloudiness he has been tracking since early on. Many even better vision after?

And then the dentist. Cleaning went well, my usual scolding to do better. I have 2 molar fillings courtesy of my Army Dentist circa early 80’s. Dentist want to cap one, could see it separating from tooth and replace the 2nd. I think those fillings are older than the dentist. That work starts next Monday. Est less than $800. The fluoride treatment tasted awful. Good luck with yours, Drew.

Got home in time to finish up my shrimp scampi with egg noodles for Happy Hour. A good send off for our visiting members. Someone brought a Jenga game. I amazed everyone, especially myself, removing 2 blocks same time.

Thanks for dash cam report Dennis. I won’t see mine until later next week - speedy Amazon shipping.

Our rain continues.

good morning all
wow the heat is on, high in upper 70's today.
After getting car inspected, coming home to plant bush beans and work on flowers
on a beautiful day. First I'm going to get on phone and call other oral surgeons locally since my
primary dentist never called back. i would sure rather be planting beans...
tooth is better this morning, antibiotics worked but not sure I just want to wish and hope it goes away.

Ron, eagles are just the coolest birds. Right up there with owls in my book and your sand cranes.

I'm glad you guys are getting dash cams. They are so cheap now to me the only concern is the ugly cord hanging down and I really
don't want to take the Volvo's dash apart to hide it. My experience with plastic connectors in cars is not good. And there is always some trick
to getting stuff apart and for sure no rattle when done.

I wonder how the Virginia police tell dash cams apart from radar detectors, which are illegal in that state. Some of them look pretty similar and some are built in like the Garmin.

hope you all have a nice day

Tbn wouldn’t let me edit my last post.
Calling for rain starting tonight, so will try to get mowing done. Gonna have to mow in VA soon. Last year did VA first mowing end of April and was tall in some places, not in others.
So much to do and I get so little done any more.

LS, where are you???

Good morning, the low is 42 and going to a high of 66°F. Wind ESE 8 mph. 40% chance of showers.

I will leave here about 9 or so, go to the bank, then the gas station, after that it will be Tim Hortons in Burks Falls for breakfast on the go and off to Newmarket. I should arrive in Newmarket about 1 P.M.
Supper will be at the Mandarin Chinese Food Buffet for a pig out. It will be mostly torpedo shrimp and Kung Poa chicken. I will have some rabbit food to start with shrimps. Zero dessert. I'm on a diet. A special diet, a sea food diet. I see food, I eat it. lol

Nice baldies Ron.

Somebody on Sirius is on a Roy Orbison kick...Apache playing now.

Have a safe day all

Burpee just emailed a confirmation that my little Fignomenal Fig tree has shipped, which I will put in a big outdoor pot,
and hopefully be able to drag inside for the winter. Maybe...let's see how big it gets. I really am not a fig person, though always liked
fig newtons as a kid. As usual, I give this stuff away.
Burpee also confirmed shipping an Early Girl tomato, an Atlas hybrid tomato, a peppigrande red hybrid sweet pepper, a Costa Rican hybrid sweet pepper, a poblano pepper and lastly some
Kentucky Colonel mint.

once this stuff is planted, I head for the nursery at Rice's Market a mile away and go nuts among all their veggies. Actually, going to price check them first; they used to be a really good deal, not any more. My favorite is a place called Bountiful Acres in Lahaska, which I've been going to since I was a child. They are more expensive, much higher quality, and they give you "bonus bucks" you can come back in June and spend. I spent 600 dollars there last Spring (buying all my stuff, not growing them like this year)
so I got 60 dollars in bonus bucks to use for anything in store.
They've been doing this a long time.
I have about thirty bonus bucks so far, probably will buy a small shrub with it in June.

and of course the cost of this is built into the product but it's fun anyway. Fun is good.

there have been some multiple posts recently, I'm wondering if the TBN mainframe is having indigestion.
