Drew don't be so fast a little birdie told me by the first weekend of the new year you might be shoveling snow to

you can bet your Buppies on that...
I like snow but so often we get the sleet and ice.
Then you drive safely through it, like you have plenty of experience doing so,
and you come across someone in a ditch. I've usually had a truck or a suburban with a big hitch
and towing ropes, so pulling someone out isn't all that hard. Did plenty of that as a volunteer fireman.

It's the other people on the road that will come plowing into me that worries me.
I could legitimately drive on by saying health reasons or whatever, but not likely.
Particularly damsels in distress...

so drive carefully out there, there's another system coming North now, right out of the Gulf where it usually comes from,
bringing that moisture North for all good reasons. Would get pretty dusty if it didn't...
But the Gulf seems to be where the weather patterns pick up the moisture and then head about forty five degrees Northeast with it, up through New England and then
to Newfoundland and whatever is after that. I watch the national radar pretty regularly and the storms seem to pop up in SouthEast Texas and then head Eastwards sucking up moisture from the Gulf like a big water vac. The same pattern keeps repeating itself.

Seems to be all about timing and the temperature. The moisture is coming, no stopping that, nor usually do you want to, but the real issue is whether you are above or below freezing when it comes. One thing for sure, every child wants it to snow. Even big kids...

Drinking last cup of coffee. 52° with rain this morning. Heading to 62 with continuing rain. May move out late this afternoon. Not much to do with rain everyday. Winter Texans (mostly seniors) can be very friendly and kind. But let them loose in a Flea Market and they turn in Vultures.
Good Morning All.

Morning!! 37 here, the snow is melting a bit, I did the chores this am, then off to do some other things. My neighbor died last night, and I am helping his daughter and son in law get squared away here. The old boy was a minister, well educated, but he thought he was going to live forever, he has left his daughter with a ton of stuff to get rid of. A lot of confusion!!

Have a good one!

Drew, I'm betting Sodamo is very familiar with a shovel right now. Sad thing is, dirt is heavier than snow. :)

67F 4.27 inches rain since yesterday. Guess rainy season is here.

Definitely rained out of outside work yesterday, but did get some cleanup in the shop. Looks like today might be a good day to tackle fixing the Treadclimber.

Have a great day.

yup, like in Palm Beach, the fur coats come on at 65 degrees...:D

However, at the moment, and not lasting for long, it's 55 degrees out and that means one last car wash in the driveway.

Got about a cord of wood split this morning, behaved myself and didn't pick up any big stuff. Boy that is fun.
Gave the B&S 1650 motor a nice drink of Sea Foam and it just purred.

Well I can yap later, that sun is not going to stay up for long. Working at the car wash, bump biddy bump biddy bump, working at the car wash...:dance1:

Good afternoon. 1215, cloudy, 60* with 81% humidity. Forecast calls for a high of 62* with 70% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 59* with 100% chance of rain tonight.

I've been at work a little over an hour. Already walked my 2 miles for the day. Didn't make it under 30 minutes today like I did last week, but the phone did ring three times while I was walking.

All this talk of citrus and liquor. I had to give up the liquor over 15 years ago. {I had a bad truth telling problem} But I still eat lots of citrus. We had a big basket at the office of local {NW Florida} kumquats, satsumas and lemons. These three lemons are all that is left. They are not near as tart as the little ones they put in your ice water. I've ate eight or nine of them already. My cousin brought Mamma a huge box of regular oranges and grapefruit from his trees in Cocoa, but I forgot to bring any of them to work. So I'm stuck eating lemons today.

Everyone have a good day.

Larro; Those look like Meyer lemons. If so, they are a cross between a lemon and an orange, which is why they are sweeter and less tart, as well as being larger than a "regular" lemon.

Bob, I do eat the slices of the regular lemons. Customers often leave gallon bags of them in the fridge after events here at the Civic Center. But I have to wait a few minutes between slices. The best way to eat these big ones {while I'm at work, anyway} is to suck the juice out of them and then eat the pulp. If I'm at home, I can peel and eat them like an orange without the worry of getting juice all over my good clothes.

I eat regular lemons too, but those still look like Meyer lemons.

Eating lemons helps me keep my sour outlook on life!

Good Evening. 1925, rain, 61* with 93% humidity. I have been so bored this afternoon. I spent an hour working on my second story. I had made some changes on the first one, so those had to be continued on. Proofreading always makes me sleepy. Then I watched a lot of crappy football. It got so bad, I walked another mile and a half. Luckily my night time customers got here so I could stop. Maybe the late games will be better. Or there is always basketball. But the Noles don't play again until Monday night. Oh well. {I am at work}

Farmgirl, these lemon are probably Meyers. They are not too tart. My boss' bug man brings her a couple of big bags of them every year. And I end up eating a lot of them. Everyone here seems to have a couple of satsuma trees on the south side of their house. I have some Chinese orange trees that handles the cold real well, but they didn't bear this year.
