31 right now...high in the mid-30's today with some snow/rain in the forecast. The initial forecast was snow and ice last night, but it appears that weather hasn't started yet...

47 outside this AM. The high was supposed to be 44. There is a storm front moving through and me thinks winter is arriving for us.

Not much planned today. Need to find some employment.

Wife is collecting stuff for the homeless today. Looks like a few pair of my professional work gloves are going. Ok by me.

Have a great day all. Be safe. And get well or stay healthy. The flu looks to be upon us.

31 and the high today is supposed to be 25°F. Wind NNW 22 gusting to 28 mph. Periods of snow.

I think I will loaf around today and conserve energy.

Have a good day all

Good morning. Frosty, with a beautiful clear blue sky this morning, unspoilt by jet trails. Either the conditions are not right to make burnt aviation fuel visible, or planes are being grounded while someone plays with their drone. In previous years it has taken a volcano eruption in Iceland to achieve the same as what now can be done by a little toy. Some innovative drone busting companies are going to be making a fortune.

Sodamo, your morning picture is a stunner.

RNG, thanks for the idea for the kindling cracker. I gave it a good work out yesterday on some tough scaffold planking and quickly decided my hatchet has split it's last kindling. No missing or flattened digits - so far. The guard above the blade is critical, couldn't help thinking that without it, a fall onto the contraption would resemble a Viking sacrificial offering to the Norse Gods

... There are lots of woods, older farms, scenic vistas, and it's close to the ocean, the lakes region and the white mountains.

Welcome to Good Morning Dave. We all love pictures and you have an abundance of interesting places to point your camera, as well as at your Kioti - with or without snow !

Good morning all, sunny cold weather here for several days, temps dropping, still 53 out but cooling off all day. Will be another week before warm weather returns, rain or something this weekend.
Up early, wide awake from sleeping too much, but still get tired easily.
I feel better this morning but ear still ringing and buzzing, reduced a little.
Well, they said four or five days so I have to be patient.

At least I think mine will go away unlike a bunch of you guys, surprising how
many guys have tinnitus from work conditions. I think they are a lot more strict on that today, OSHA requiring DB readings.

Need to go pick up for cleaning ladies, running wash early in the morning, then go foodshopping because I had thought I was leaving town tomorrow. Well that isn't happening, worse my friends in Florida told me yesterday she just found a lump in her breast and they are pretty freaked out about that until the results come back. So no trip to Florida. Silver lining is I get more time with my seedlings.

Incoming cold weather reminds me, need to make a fire in the fireplace, more silver linings of cold winter weather that doesn't come here that often. Last year only had three fires in fireplace, I'm ready to get in my recliner next to the fire, read my book, and as is needed when you aren't 21 anymore, conserve energy...

Electrician coming tomorrow with ditchwitch to lay a new supply line from barn to garden shed. Not a job he was looking forward to I could tell, and it's going to be right at freezing when he gets here tomorrow and won't get much warmer. Better him than me out there. It will be really nice to have lights in the shed so I can see the tiny seeds better. Propane heater working fine, will work better when I have the ceiling insulated. Prior owner of my farm owned a small elevator company and in order to sign off on the work he had to have an electrical license. So as you might imagine he did some of the exterior building wiring here himself, and this garden shed is pretty much the last bit of wiring I am tearing out and redoing. How could a licensed electrician leave a main connection like this pic? My electrician and I uncovered this and that's when I knew it all had to be rewired. I have a bunch of spare receptacles and gfi's I'm going to use up and replace them here, since everything was pretty rusty.

Good morning! 48 ˚F heading to only 59 ˚F, clear skies with a slight North wind. Attic work this morning, trailblazing this afternoon - leveling out the picnic area on the side of one of the trails under 12 oak trees.

Reviewing carefully the web pages and clicking and sub clicking going deep into the web I found that the elusive tractor is hidden under the power equipment SIG of the horticulture club where it list that the tillers and tractor are on call and only members "trained" can use them, but there is no one listed as the SIG leader. All the other SIGs have a person in charge, so I sent out a few emails to find out who is this elusive person. This is an elderly neighborhood, is there a vacancy or is the PE SIG combined into another SIG?
Investigation continues . . .

Drinking first cup of coffee. 28° with light snow this morning. Heading to 27° with cloudy skies all day. Got yesterday's project completed. Now have full view of yard around house on iPad. PT this morning. Then I have a LED flood light under animal barn lean-to. Motion sensor failed. Cheaper to replace whole fixture than buy a new motion sensor. Then back in house for some warm relaxing rest.

Since a couple others have stated they raced Go Karts. Thought I would post a picture of the type I raced in the late 60's. It's a Hartman Kart with full hydraulic disk brakes. this picture is a twin engine model. Mine was a single 100cc Italian engine. Would hit around 100 mph at end of most straight aways on bigger tracks like Indy Raceway Park.

Drew, nothing wrong with that wiring. :D

Good Morning All.

44 and windy going to 49. Last night thought the house was gonna blow away.

Don, that dialog was funny - odd way to look at HOA rules.

Eric, I see so many contrails here on some days, that I think they will build up and rain or snow, since most of their contents are water/ice crystals.

Was planning to go hiking up the mountains Thursday, but saw the 22F high and 44mph gusts, and decided there must be a better plan if I keep working at it. Since "they" are calling for 6" of snow starting Saturday, I think I need to focus on firewood.

Took advantage of the nice weather yesterday (63F) to take Coco for the 3 mile hike in the battlefield park forest to the river and play fetch/swim with a big stick. Saw the biggest German shepherd with jogger that I can remember on the trail.

Then rolled out my generator for a "scheduled" test run (was actually scheduled for last June, but never seemed like a good time to do it). Running it on LP, so started right up. Plugged in the air compressor for a load. Then decided my zero turn wanted a run about, and used the compressor to give it a good cleaning off. Changed the oil on the generator and put it away, and remembered the splitter needed an oil change, too. While it was warming up remembered my chainsaw needed an idle adjustment since the chain was moving a bit at idle last time I used it. Checked fluids in the vehicles, topped off the washer fluid, and all around got ready for this incoming cold/snow spell, what Joe Bastardi called a "16 day glacier is coming."
