Good morning all.
No idea why I got up so early, but first cup of coffee going down.
Reading a full day of posts here catching up, seems like there was a friendly glow in the column, I could feel the Christmas good cheer.
Very pleased with the gifts I received and the thoughtfulness behind them.
Christmas Day afternoon, maybe around 4pm, I got a phone call with a local exchange, so I picked up to a recorded message from
the electric company saying they were going to turn off my power today at 5pm if I didn't pay my bill.
Well....first, the idea of robodialing anyone on Christmas is seriously bad, but to call them up on Christmas and tell them the lights are about to go off is the embodiment of true Grinch.
I will of course be downtown at 9am with a check to pay the bill I never got, lost in holiday mail likely, and intend to question them why first notice of non payment was a one day notice prior to turn off. Now we all know you can't do that....
My whole house gen would come on if they did.
Have a big paper bag full of seeds on my desk, about to start an Excel spreadsheet plotting out my garden. Mostly timing issues, dates for seedling, plant/transplant and harvest. Need to figure out if early veggies, like cabbage, kale, spinach, lettuce, will be out of the greenhouse in time for the later seeds to come in. A trains in the station issue, complicated by multiple planting dates for some. Didn't do this last time
and want to get better organized this year.
So with a still full stomach, yeah I went back for seconds on the turkey, intend to use the still mid fifties day to get something accomplished.
Rain is coming in in a few days, and the ground is almost dry. Time to go play with new tractor.
Not good at all for it to sit without attention. Says so in the manual. Pinocchio...
