Drew, there are all kinds of trailer hitches and brackets for lawn tractors on Amazon. Moving the trailer would be pretty easy with the lawn tractor.

More shots fire again today, about a dozen, just about an hour ago. Seems we're in the middle of someone else's feud here.
Not good PJ..keep your head for bullet always hits something.

Good late (Wednesday) morning. Another mild overnight low of 4.6C, it's partly cloudy with a gentle breeze and the high could reach 13C.

Up 'early' as I needed to be at my Church by 0900. Our Minister is going on vacation for a month and I volunteered to manage (open up and distribute) our "Anglicare" storeroom of free furnishings (previously 'loved') to those in need. I got that done (key received) and proceeded into town for mail and to pick up some scripts at the Chemist.

Then I filled up the ute at the petrol station. A$2.18 per litre of 91 unleaded, but I have an RACT membership (like AAA or CAA for my NA Mates) that knocks A$0.06 off per litre... Even with the discount (A$3.00) it was A$104.00 for 3/4 tank.

Groceries done and put away. Wood is in for the day/night. Nothing else 'pressing' for the rest of the day.

Take care all.

funny there are a bunch of motorized trailer dollies.
I say go whole hog and get this one, should be good on gravel?...

actually gets pretty bad ratings
need something with fat tires
Drew, at that cost, you could fly ME out there and I'll move the trailer for you!

It was a good day, got the framework up for the picket fence. Not a big area, only fencing in an area between the old rehabbed garden shed, the hobby shack, and the existing fence run. Overall, the area is only about 14' x16', but that will give Max some more area and he'll have 2 trees for some shade.

It went so easy, I decided to start putting up the pickets. Got about 3/4 of the way, and the wifey called for dinner. Pizza hit the spot, then a real treat, she made homemade blueberry cheesecake..... it was scrumptious!

Being all the tools were still out there, I figured that I'd finish the pickets on the new sections. Tomorrow, I will take down a section of existing fence and move it over to go between the two sheds. That will finish up the project.

I probably should have just finished it today, but just got too tired. Being the section is all assembled already, it will take longer to get the tools out than to move the section!

Wagtail, those gas (petrol) prices are outrageous! Over $8.25 a gallon (if my calcs are correct).

   / Good morning!!!! #152,348
I am hoping, have fingers crossed, toes gonna cross while sleeping, and hoping some more.... for calm weather in the morning.... to attempt to fly an RC!

I probably just jinxed myself, but it may be a prime opportunity tomorrow!

66F and clear @ 21:50, calling for an overnight low of 57F. More of that good sleeping weather on tap.

High hit 88.5F here today and we were both out in it, in the sun, pretty much all day long.

Rearranged plants and watered all plants out front.

Refilled one suet feeder.

Repaired Water Buffalo and set it to filling.

Woman had a mind to get the rest of the plants She was given with the Calla lilies the other day planted.

So we collected up a variety of tools in the dump cart and went up to assess the prospective site along the road. That ended up being a no-go, ground was like concrete and full of roots, no way to dig it short of the PHD or grapple.

So we settled on the area in front of the shop, where I had used the PHD several years ago to drill a bunch of holes on a 2' spacing (the place where the Yarrow and Salvia are planted) The holes were then filled with screened compost, which at this point had basically deteriorated to straight dirt.

We used the B and D string trimmer to cut down all the weeds, raked those up and put them in buckets. They later got added to the compost pile.

The 4 gallons of water we had brought was inadequate to the task of watering the holes which were now about like concrete. Very dry ground, with lots of large 1/2" wide cracks.

So I unhooked the dump cart and went down retrieved the WB and brought it up and proceeded to give each hole 2 gallons of water which pretty much disappeared immediately. It did wet things enough so that I was able to dig the holes out so new soil could be put in and the plants planted.

Plant.ID identified these other plants as Campanula glomerata (Clustered Bellflower):

IMG_1800 copy.jpg

... which we split into 6 plantings.

Should look something like this, once they have grown a bit and bloom (assuming they survive):

Campanula_glomerata_Freya_2_nbrcg_zno_copy_1024x1024.jpg

After we got those planted I went down and got one of the Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed):

Asclepiastuberosa0005highres_1024x1024.jpg

And the four Asclepias incarnata "Soulmate" (Soulmate Swamp Milkweed):

mid_2Brange_2Bin_2Bbloom_1024x1024.jpeg

Got all those planted and well watered in (2 gallons per plant), had to make one trip over to the pile to get some more screened compost.

She used some of the remaining water to water around some of the salvia and yarrow which loosened things up enough that She was able to get one of the salvia weeded.

There were a snotload of Japanese beetles up there, those all got sprayed down with neem oil solution.

After we finished, took the dump cart down and unloaded it and then went back up and got the WB and took it around back and hooked it up and started to fill it.

While that was happening I headed back up and got most of the compost/wood lot mowed.

Came back down to check on the WB and sat in the lawn chair while it finished filling.

Once that was done, I watered all the summer squash, the day lilies (both planted and potted), and the asparagus.

At that point the water pressure was low so I called it done and headed around front and moved the plants inside and closed up.

All in all, a reasonably productive day.

Hope everyone had a great one ... (y)

The hunter was bush hogging when I got to the farm tonight.
Wife said, you want to take your drone. Nah, I won’t have time to fly it. Should have brought it. I hiked up the hill to see where he was mowing.
IMG_5075.JPG

Replaced batteries on cell camera. The cheap 12v supply I bought on Amazon is loose where it plugs into the camera, so apparently ran on batteries instead. Guess I’ll have to spring for the $50 one from the camera mfgr. The camera did come with a cable with the proper adapter, guess I could splice it into this supply instead, except I didn’t bring it with me.

No sign on camera or video that the kid on the 4x4 went in the barn. That’s good. Had to get my dvr password from my brother, I had forgotten it. I’ve had this dvr with analog cameras running in the barn for at least 5-6 yrs now I think. Surprised it still works, but pictures pretty grainy. I also have a game camera in the barn.

Mower won’t start, acts like weak battery. I put it on battery tender charger overnight. Tomorrow I’ll try jump starter to make sure mower runs, then get new battery if it does.

Also brought fan switch to put in ceiling fan. Grabbed one from an old non working ceiling fan I had in my basement. Last time here the switch chain broke inside the switch.

And tractors been overheating. Dads been putting straight water in it. No wonder.
When the hunter brought tractor in tonight from mowing, you could hear radiator boiling, but he said temperature Guage didn’t say overheating. Humm.
I did blow radiator out with radiator genie, think I’ll leave that here. I’ll top it with antifreeze in morning.

Probably won’t get to the post in the barn.

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly which one of the smorgasbord of nibbles set off 'the cleansing'. 😀 But I'm sure grateful to live in these modern times with indoor plumbing as opposed to running out to the "long-drop".

[and reply to LS] Fuel wise - Tassie, being an island, has always had slightly more pricy petrol/diesel costs than the 'North Island' (Tasmanians jokingly call mainland Aus that... with a nod to our Kiwi Mates). Diesel is around A$2.40 per litre at the moment. Nothing we can do about it.

53° right now...high about 80 today.

Prepping for an audit (quality systems) today. Since I've been working remotely for quite a while, I know I'll be getting some findings.
Not too concerned though...

buckeyefarmer - awesome photo, i love it

LS - we bought a trailer dolly on Marketplace, most were $75-$100 Cdn, very handy

PJSprog - sounds like the Wild West, stay safe, praying

prayers for all of the various reported needs, and those that are note noted.

we had rain today, I had a day in the house, and then started to load garbage into the truck - plan is to fill up between now and Monday, then unload at dump

Thomas - I love that fuel gauge, might have to borrow that photo

rswyan - you be busy, great photos, thanks for sharing them

wagtail - the Hilux is cool, I looked at a right hand drive a few yrs ago but decided that my Silverado was just fine

mostly_gas - the leg spasms are so annoying, they happen regularly and mostly after a long day where I've been physically busy - it is not restless leg syndrome (rather my CP) and oddly, COFFEE usually can calm things down

RoyJ - your wise words in RED will no doubt be helpful during the audit :) , I believe in you (I don't recall what line of work you do, but praying the audit results in a high pass)

night all

I'm a Quality Manager at an aerospace machine shop...

I've handled a lot of audits over the last 20some years. Main thing, answer the auditor's questions in as few words as possible...if he or she needs more info, they'll ask...

RoyJ - less is more, it worked the same when I worked in the Courts. The judge called my report "pithy" one time ... I knowingly smiled, my colleague was concerned :)

Buppies - how is Mrs Buppies recuperation going ?

good morning all
looks like a nice warm sunny summer day, high upper 80's.
Off to meeting at church, then need to fill the gas tank (groan) and then go food shopping.

this afternoon, mow the lawn, wash the car, and put stuff away.

hump day RNG. Are you out touring the wilderness today?

plantar fasciitis swollen up this morning on right foot, probably due to walking last few days and pressing down on accelerator. Though i do try to stay on adaptive cruise as much as possible.
scaredy, I was only talking in general about being totalled. I'm at 150k miles and need some replacement parts. Some parts no longer available...
