Has dropped to 9° but should start to go up as sun is out.

My dad raised chickens when i was young. He went to cattle. He still has cattle, he's almost 94. He sold a lot last fall, that's his version of downsizing. He will die on the farm, he will not go anywhere else.

Buckeye, I had to look up one of your tractors, and like my Massey built by Iseki, yours is built by another Japanese company, Toyosha, who I had never heard about.
Geez they only go back to our Civil War...

Hinomoto was the trade name for tractors produced by Toyosha, of Japan. Toyosha can trace its roots to plows built by Denzou Tanoue in 1863. Hinomoto compact tractors appeared in the late 1950s and have been exported worldwide. In 1990, Toyosha was purchased by Hitachi Construction Machinery. Hitachi changed the trade name to Tierra in 1997

Have you had any issues with parts?

They say anything bitter or sour is usually good for you; it's that irritant in mustard that sets off
an almost instantaneous body chemical reaction that helps with cramps.
Probably a good old Chinese remedy...
I think it's the vinegar that's good for you in the pickles; am guessing sweet pickles don't have the same effect. ????

Boy...just watched a YouTube video...Erie PA got 5 FEET of snow within a week...including 3 feet on Christmas Day.
Makes me feel foolish for complaining about the few feet we got over the course of a week...week and a half. BTW, it's snowing now, as I type this

In my memory which is getting really bad splitting wood by maul it was easier to bust if it was frozen but the late 90s were the last time we burned wood so I may just be crazy

I remember the same thing, but for me it’s been the late 80s since I mauled any wood. That was also about the time I last rented a splitter to knock out a large load of oak logs, that is when they told me to be careful if the wood was frozen too hard. It was about 11° that day. I have no expert knowledge.

daugen, a tea spoonful or a quart, it doesn't matter. No alcohol passes my lips if I need to drive anywhere.

Frozen wood splits easier. -40 F is a good temp to split Elm. Just wear gloves as well as the other stuff to keep you warm and keep your tongue off the axe blade. You might be overdressed for the cold when you start splitting, but soon enough you will be pealing layers off.

I love the taste of sweet pickle juice. But then again I also like the taste of hot Caesars, too.

Like I said, I have no expert knowledge, splitting by hand seemed easier frozen, but I didn’t own or have any inside knowledge of the hydraulic splitter. So I could only rely on the word of the rental company. They might have been full of it.

Morning all!

Seems it is exactly a month since I last logged in. I believe I saw 8 on the thermostat for outside temp when I put logs on the fire at 2am. it was 19 officially at 7am.

Latest fiasco is somehow I've lost my dipstick (stop the jokes right now, I've heard them all) on my DK50...

Other than that had great holidays. My son relocated from New Mexico and starts his new job Jan 4th. He's living in the basement for the moment.

We are still struggling to secure a builder to actually build the home we've designed, so that is the biggest source of drama.

I think 2018 is going to be really and truly awesome.

Best of everything to all-o-y'all!

Be well,
David
