I believe you have a fairly substantial puddle just down the hill as well, RNG.
I do, but that's the trouble: It's down the hill. As in about 1/4 mile and 200' down hill. Could probably paddle one of those plastic kayaks down slope, but I dunno about getting it back up! :ROFLMAO:

Three solid days of manual labor. I'm going to try to push over the middle tree with the New Holland then .. a bit more lower limb removal on the other two trees.
Sounds like a good workout in the wood gym, Rick. Perfect for workin' off those holiday pounds and building some muscle tone. It's also a good way to wear out your favorite gloves, rip your shirts, scratch your face, dull a bunch of saw chains, and drop heavy stuff on your toes. DAMHIKT...🤣

Good afternoon! 84˚F partly cloudy, South wind.
I had a call this morning that the front axel oil on the JD (4WD) was low and the tractor would be out of service. There was no oil showing on the short dipstick on the axel. I changed out the oil a month ago and filled it. I put a screwdriver in the dipstick hole today and determined it was right below the dip stick. There were no leaks. I added a half quart and that filled it up (it holds a gallon). I suspect there must have been a bubble in it or is just filled all the voids after being driving around. I did not check it after driving it when I changed out the oil because it has no filter to fill. Any other explanation?

Good morning, low temp 36, high 59°F. Wind E 11 mph. Sunny!

Got some nasty news yesterday, the DIL has 3 months to live at most. They (the doctors) are guessing it is cancer. She is bleeding somewhere and they can't tell where. Guessing the small intestine, which normally (if you can call it that) is non operable. She has been in constant pain since 2006. She was on morphine until it made her physically sick even with gravol, so that was the end of that. Tylenol doesn't touch the pain, morphine makes her sick so they gave her something else. The doctors are a little reluctant to shell out Oxycontin.

A town run is in the cards for today.

Have a safe day all

L4N, i am so sorry to hear about your DIL. Special thoughts and prayers for her.

Nope... takes a while to fill all those 'low spots' in the axle. When I had changed mine, did it nice and slow, took it up to the top of the fill hash marks and let it sit overnight. Checked in the morning.... a little lower, but still good. Used it a couple hours and miraculously was 1 1/2 quarts low.....filled it again and has been at the same full mark for the last 6 months.

Often those bevel drive front axles when you drain them from the axle hubs and refill from the upper axle housing.
The spur and bevel housing doesn't have a high point vent and they will air lock in the upper portion of the hub,
after considerable time and some heating cycles the air will slowly dissipate from the housings.

I've seen that happen Don. Fill it, drive it a bit, recheck, refill.

"Summer is time to tackle the easy stuff and enjoy the days."

Summer is time for work that can be done from A/C tractor cabs.

40 right now...high in the mid-60's..

My EGO chainsaw trigger is sticking. My guess is there's crap in the housing. I expect I'll have to split the housing and see what's going on...
Pretty warm now (60 ± 5°) during the days...hope the ground will be thawed enough this weekend to finish the chores I wanted to do last weekend...

L4N, like others of our TBN brethren, I am so sorry to read about your daughter-in-law. However it turns out, I hope she can be comfortable and enjoys what time is left...

Good morning, low was 45°F and going to 64. Wind E 8 mph. Mostly cloudy.

I am not sure what I will get up to today but rest assured a back hoe is in the mix.

Hydramorphone is what they have given her now. I am not sure I spelled it right, but it is like morphine but without the stomach upset. She is allowed up to 4 pills a day. She took three yesterday and was flying. But at least she was pain free.
Most of her family is in U.K. They have already been informed and seeing as there will NOT be a funeral they don't need to worry about coughing up $4500.oo each for the air fare to get to here.

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts, they do help.

Have a safe day all
