Gasoline has gone up about .50 cents/gallon since Jan 20. No thank you.
More like .30 cents/gallon (USA Average Price) ... and more than half of that rise - around .20 cents - has been since that cold snap:
U.S. oil wells, refineries shut as winter storm hits energy sector
A deep freeze is taking a toll on the energy industry halting oil wells and refineries and forcing restrictions from natural gas and crude pipeline operators.
Of course, it’s up around a dollar a gallon since late April last year.
One of the side consequences of those refinery shutdowns:
Texas freeze led to release of tons of air pollutants as refineries shut
Shutdowns led to the refineries flaring, or burning and releasing gases, to prevent damage to processing units
It gives me a chance to exercise my brain a little.
