Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #117,581
It’s 86 with a heat index of 102! Humidity is 81% and dew point is 78, it’s like a steam bath. Very tropical weather.
Backup camera on my Ram stopped working, just flickering in revrse, guess it’s a trip to the dealer for that. Not a big deal but real handy for trailer hook up.
I mowed Thursday and looks like I will tomorrow. Grass isn’t getting as tall as it was, but extremely thick.
Doggie is ready to go for a walk, it’ll be short today in this heat.

Many of the RAM camera issues can be cured by disconnecting at the tail gate disconnect using a bit of dielectric grease and connecting it again,
doing this two or 3 times seems to clean up that connection and many issues, but not all.

disappointing email from second rental owner, said he could not have place ready in time for me, basically didn't really seem motivated at all.
Wonder why he responded to my "apartment wanted" ad.
Oh well, back to rental house number one, which I'll know more about in two weeks.

Lou, a week ago I was following a pickup with a nice trailer into town, and noticed that turn signals worked but not brake lights. At next light
I beeped and did the roll down your window motion, and told him his brake lights were out. He seemed annoyed, but not at me. He jumped out, ran back and unplugged and replugged the power cord, several times. Never did see if that worked. I use DeOxit on mine and did not have problems.
I try to tell folks if their lights are out, and most are very appreciative, after all you usually can't tell from inside your vehicle.
Only once did I get the middle finger...and I just laughed at that guy. Clearly he had his own wiring problems...;)

rain is starting, not in forecast at all but looks like line of thunderstorms coming through. Nice to hear on roof.

Good Morning!!!! 81F @ 9:30AM. Sunny. Areas of smoke and haze are possible, reducing visibility at times. High 97F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Still under a Red Flag Warning due to possible dry lightning, but haven't seen any lightning nor heard any thunder. :crossfingers: it stays that way.

Just got off the phone with the Oregon Kubota dealer's mechanic, and he wants me to test all three of the rear valves. I know two of them are bad, just want to see if it's all three. Then I'll have to take the valve off and ship it to him for "evaluation" to see if it gets replaced under warranty. That'll tie the tractor up unless I can figure out a way to patch the hoses back there together...

Made a big pot of chili yesterday, so I need to get that bagged and into the freezer today. Then get ready for a batch of spaghetti and meatballs I'll make tomorrow. Then maybe a batch of green chili chicken stew after that. Trying to focus on indoor stuff until the smoke clears out, which is still staying at unhealthy levels.

New network cable stuff should be here tomorrow, not bad seeing as it's coming all the way from NYC and just shipped today.

Hope everybody's week gets off to a smooth start...

72° and .06 inches rain.

Still have all the little pieces of lumber from yesterday’s needing to be assembled into something functional , the bathroom roof extension for caretaker unit.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

85F and partly cloudy @ 12:45, "feels like" 90F. Forecast high is 86F with an increasing chance (60%) of thunderstorms this afternoon.

Highs in the upper 80's to low 90's forecast through Thursday.

Attic fan just kicked on.

Slow getting rolling this morning.

Seeing some pine shavings on the ground around the flicker nest box, so hopefully getting some action there.

Need to refill large bird feeder today, probably tube feeders as well.

May remove dead redbud tree in front ... could use hole to move rhododendron to. There's also another tree further up in the yard that may also have died ... which would be a second spot that could be used as well.

Not sure what all will turn up on the agenda today.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

This has worked really good for Whipper (the barking dog that doesn't fetch). Please pass the info to the new owners so she won't be returned. After two weeks of the non-shocking collar she no longer needs it, amazing, and 5 stars from Amazon.
Amazon.com : STOPWOOFER No Shock Humane and Effective Dog bark Collar for Small Medium and Large Dogs-Anti-Barking Collar Corrects Barking with Sound Warning and Vibration-Anti bark Collar no Dog Control : Pet Supplies

Nadia is both blind and deaf, so an audible warning is useless for her. We've had some mixed success with those anti-bark collars that spray a small spritz of citronella spray. Most dogs seem to get the message pretty quick. Our middle BC, though, doesn't seem fazed by it at all. On the bright side, mosquitoes left her alone for quite awhile.

Some dogs also have a tendency to become "collar smart," where they behave themselves when the collar is on, but know they can do as they please without consequence when it's off.

RNG - just stay safe-Friend of mine in Santa Cruz can see some of the fire down by him.

So, went out to check the peach trees, had about 40 half sized peaches almost ripe..
Today - NO peaches, but squirrels etc. did leave me a few pits!

Here are the latest gloom and doom statistics from around the state and in this county.

As of last Friday, there were 1555 confirmed CoVid-19 cases here in the county. 188 are in isolation, 17 of those in the hospital. 17 have died, 1350 have recovered. 30212 viral tests have been made, with by far the largest number of positives coming from the 18-24 age group. The only fatalities have been 65+ years old. Seems like we've had two peaks in the number of cases/week, and we're in the third week of the latest ramp down. Hope it continues down.

Here's the latest wildfire info. The ButteLightningComplex fires are here in Butte County.

On my kubota, without rear hydraulic valves there was a cover that got removed to hook up the rear hydraulic lines that goes to the valves. . I’d ask the dealer if he has the cover that goes there, he should have a bunch if he routinely adds valves to new tractors. He probably throws them away. The cover connected supply to return, which now is rerouted thru the valves.
IMG_6490.JPG
The valve stack bolts to the other end of this supply/return
IMG_6492.JPG
The valves have orings to seal between surfaces, if one got installed wrong it won’t work. Or problem is internal to valve.
IMG_6491.JPG
Stack gets bolted thru all valves.

the few spoil it for the many...

Nearly 5,500 students began moving into their dorm rooms at the school last Wednesday, the school said
GREENVILLE — About 20 parties, including one with nearly 400 people in attendance, were shut down at East Carolina University during the school’s opening weekend, campus police said.
RALEIGH (AP) — East Carolina University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte are moving courses online in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the universities announced Sunday.
University residence halls will begin moving students out this week through Aug. 30.

89F more sun than clouds not even whisper of breeze uncomfortable humidity now.

After dump run this morning it was project time, honestly if it wasn't tractor and tong I doubt very much I could have remove last 3 BIG 8'ers+ telephone poles for they were in nasty spot...project shut down due to heat :(... Tong save me lot of extra work with iron bar and lift chaining over the years.

No plans for tonight after shower dinner other than relaxing on the deck.

Enjoy your evening all.

Evening everyone! Long busy weekend getting everything moved and the master bedroom painted. To darn hot and humid to do anything around here. Thank goodness the air conditioner repair guy is coming tomorrow!!!
We still have two rooms to clean out in prep for the hard wood floor install next week. I bet they will appreciate the air working also!

It is currently 85 with the sun burning down and a full blown rain storm at the same time. Very odd! Thunder and hail storms are passing to the south of us.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.

Lunch break/mid-day report:

Cold Cut Combo was on the menu for me, saving half for later.

The Woman had a Tuna Fish ... and is leaving shortly to get her hair cut.

Third rhododendron planted, along with another 34 hosta sets, bringing the overall total to 90 ... we had a production line going ...

Storms in the area, thunder has been rumbling, lightning alert issued and it has been sprinkling on and off ... but looks to be mostly south of us at least for the moment.

Heading back out to see what kind of trouble I can get into ...

Tomorrow I will start on the fuel pump transfer cart.... that I will take pics of the progress...

Hope everyone has a quiet night.

Good evening all. 71F for the start, mostly clear, calm wind. Light wind today, clouded up this afternoon, high temp 95F. Humidity will go up over next few days, rain chances Wednesday and Thursday. Walk with wife to start day, mowed the tall grass and weed eated, and hand trimmed around trees. Got leafs off front porch, did not get trees trimmed. Did get nap in :)
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson 1383 confirmed cases, 80 active cases.
Dennis glad you had safe trip home, good question on drivers.
RS planting looking good.
Billy surprise visit sounds nice
Thomas removing old telephone poles sounds like work.
Ron hope you get the siding painted, nice flower pic

RNG quite the list of fires, news was saying the forecast weather will help the firefighters.
Phil good to hear A/C working soon.
RS you got rolling:)
prayers for all, especially Drew/move, Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, Mike, David(Moss)/move
