We were in the generation that migrated from manual to electric typewriters, Drew.

I took typing for two years in high school, the first year with the hammer on 'em manuals. Next time around, the classroom had been upgraded to electrics, and oh my, what an adjustment. And it just kept getting better from there as word processing swept through, and then desktop publishing. I don't know how fast I type now, but it's by touch, no pecking here. But increasingly I rely on the auto correct, or at least red highlighting of my smelling pistakes, as the ol' bean has more and more trouble keeping up with the fingers. Arthur Ritus has also made his presence known, but oddly the more shoveling and hammering I do, the more limber the fingers stay. Have I stumbled on a modern fountain of youth?

Those early typing classes were remarkable in one way, in that I was pretty much the only guy in them. Didn't do me much good, other than pave the way to geekdom; I was much too shy to make anything of it at the ripe old age of 13-14.

My friend was the only guy in typing, and as a freshman, all the "older" women just loved him so much....We could go anywhere in town and there was some gal saying "Hi Vic!"

Well said Kyle ...

Thanks rs. Just trying to keep a handle on it. Not over reacting, nor under reacting. Just being careful.

I had big plans yesterday to start the annual end of winter bush hogging of the fields...decided to take the pto shaft off the bush hog gear box and do a good cleaning and lube. 3 hours later I finally get it back on. This pto is a very good one, but has a different kind of spring slip collar on the clutch end and just wouldn't release. After much cleaning and many tries later, with wife's loving help, got it back on. Then time for dinner.

Now, sore, scraped and bruised up some, am wondering why I took it off to start with. The clutch shield has hatch openings to get to what I needed to lube.

I hate fighting stuck pto's. I sometimes say rassin frassin crassin sunny beaches after struggling with it.

Tell wifey, she needs a grapple on that new tractor... ;)

Nope, she doesn't care...remember, he's the indentured servant... :)

Way back when I drank, it was I never drink unless I am alone or with someone. That same statement now works for smoking the hippy hay.
I too gimp around on a buggered up knee. The alternative doesn't look good to me. I sure don't want to be in a wheelchair, but a wheelchair is better than dead from a awkward fall.

I see a lot of you did online church today. Same here.

Since all are doing it, it gives me a chance to watch some other pastors I've liked in my past....at their new churches.

Trying to make some beer bread. Waiting to see if it will rise. Unfortunately for Don, it has 1/4 cup of extra light EVOO. Using Shiner Bock and honey for this batch.....well, it rose I see, time to put it in the oven.

Prayers for those in need, and for this virus to subside.

Bird, did they make jokes about you being the office secretary? I'll bet it was a rough month.

Thanks for the reminder, Kyle. With mowing on the horizon, it's time to go out and give the prop shaft on the flail a nice long drink of penetrating oil. Usually I forget and spend a very messy hour or two trying to get the collars or pins freed up before I can do any mowing, and I've already waited to mow too long...:banghead:

Busy day.
I do the church online streaming, so I was there. Had 5 participants, including me, 4 wife’s. 1 other for 10 total.
Lots participated online.

Then we discussed what if we can’t meet at all next week. I spent afternoon setting up the ministers YouTube page so he can now stream to our church page from his house. I did all that sitting at my house, then wrote him detailed instructions.

Had call from dish about unpaid bill. I never got a bill I guess, so paid it online.

Wife helped son set up more stuff in his apt. She just got home. I need a nap, but almost bed time.

1/4 cup olive oil 490 calories.
1 serving of bluebell ice cream 140 calories.:D

You have made your choice.:p

Drew the daily dose of zinc for an adult male is 11mg. A lot of foods have trace amounts and you probably get half if not all every day. Fortified cereal gives up to 1/4 of that amount. Oats and pumpkin seeds on the plant side are high and most meats contain zinc also.

Also all those cooking beans in the Instant Pot soak your beans to eliminate a large percentage of phytates. Many vegan sources of zinc contain phytates, which are anti-nutrients that can inhibit the absorption of zinc and other nutrients.

No project progress today, opted for more important stuff.
Today was wife’s birthday. Not able to take her out given current environment, so ....
Made dinner (not so unusual), but also baked her a cake. Not being a planned event was somewhat limited by stuff on hand. Even made her a buttercream frosting. I’ll spare you my singing.

I've bookmarked that link, Ron, because the last bottle standing in my liquor cabinets will be the 1.75 of brandy I bought by mistake, and all that extra stuff in the glass looks like it would do a good job of killing the taste.

You can make a great bananas foster, or cherries flambe.....Ron, that was funny. I get the northern humor, having a good buddy from Wisconsin, and watching the old Mackenzie brothers' beer truck movie.

Good evening all. 50F this morning, .1 inch in rain gauge, fog. Fog most of day, wind stayed light and high temp was 57F. Conservation of energy day, made wife breakfast for lunch, she took two naps today me 0. Also finished spaghetti sauce, was amazing how much flavor changed as it reduced, was sweating bullets till after it cooked for 2 1/2 hours.
NG I should have taken typing in HS, finger nowhere near as fast as brain and like you the brain ain't what it used to be.
Ron, my wife would not survive without milk, I am becoming lactose intolerant :(

When I first saw your cake in the corner of your post I thought it was a pic of the coronavirus. I feel the need to apologize.
