Good morning all. There is a definite deficiency of daylight this morning, last night's frost is melting away into what must be the darkest day to date for December.

Your pictures are great jbrumberg

I agree. Have you noticed how when even away on holiday, Jay thinks of us all, taking a wide variety of pictures to appeal to all our different tastes. Beautiful landscapes, festively decorated security doors (for those that enjoy a nice bit of chequer plate work, transformed into a work of art by welding flat bar across carefully created diagonals ) and even amorous iguanas, which at first I thought was possibly a little pervy, then later realised was to cheer up RNG for all the lizards that were lost in the fire. You are all heart JB, now can you squeeze in a bike pic to help mostly to forget the cold and ride those last few miles.

Good morning,
temperature is 5 °F and rising up to 21. Wind NW 5 mph. Snow is predicted.

Right up to Monday there is snow in the forecast. It is just about time we got some. Thee is only about 3" on the ground now. I will be going to plow this morning. Town runs x 2 will take up most of the midday and maybe after supper I will be plowing again. We'll see.

Have a good day all

good morning all.
Cold here this morning, like most places.
Bill, you sound like a little kid getting out of school, YEAH Snow! Time for your Nanook of the North outfit.

off to get second opinion on foot, which still hurts. My foot doesn't hurt anywhere near where they show the expected pain area, so
am hoping another xray will help. Maybe I just have something else going on in there like a bone spur. Current doc said I had a lot of arthritis
in there. That plus degenerative bone disease could mean all kinds of issues. Primarily I have to stay off my feet more, and this is the time of year I can.
Just have to blow some more leaves today.

Tomorrow morning is garden club. Have had to leave last two meetings due to noise/tinnitus. Taking my noise reducing headphones with me, even if I look weird and plan on going outside a few times seeking a quiet spot. That is almost an oxymoron in a room packed with women. I also ordered a set of noise cancelling earbud headphones which while visible are much less so than regular headphones. First ear injection two days before Christmas. I will gladly take less buzz from Santa...

Finished booking rv stays in Delray Beach and Long Key. As expected everything in Key Largo was booked full, so had to go further down the Keys.
Fiesta Key RV Resort - Long Key campgrounds | Good Sam Club

Jay, keep those pictures coming please and have a wonderful time.

Looks like a cold but not white Christmas for us on the Eastern Shore.
Got to finish some prep before the TAVR tomorrow, mostly mental. LOL
Got to 22 early, 24 now, 43 later.
Prayers all around.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 13° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 36° with partly cloudy skies. Venison roast dinner yesterday was very good. Top off with a few sips of Amaretto.
Woke up this morning with several Face-Time request and text messages to talk to my Grand Daughter. Great Grand daughter Luna was born at 9:55 pm 12/11/2019. 7 lbs 20 inches. One of my wife's last request was to remind GD that her birthday was on 12/11. It was kind of a joke because other GGD was born on my birthday.

Not sure how you celebrate birth of a GGD. :dance1::cool2::drink:
Took some pictures of the full moon with Canon camera this morning. They all came out like a bright sun. Need to get my tripod out. This was the last full moon of the decade.
Need to get packages in mail today. Enough procrastination.

RNG, when I installed LED headlights on my motorhome I had to reverse the high and low beam wires. I also installed relays and larger ground wires.

Drew, good luck with sound control.

Looking, not sure we are going to have a white Christmas here in SE Michigan. I may have wasted my time putting snowblower on mower. :(

Jay, keeping sending the warm pictures.

Bird, hope you had a good nights sleep in new chair.

Prayers and best wishes for all.

Good Morning All.

then later realised was to cheer up RNG for all the lizards that were lost in the fire..

Don't feel bad for the lizards, Eric, I'm pretty sure they retreated to the safety of the house, and crawled up inside the walls, undoubtedly where they are right now, hiding from the cold rain that's falling outside. I hope you continue with your flights of fancy, though, which entertain us all with your particular alternate view, and Jay continues to share with us the wonders of Costa Rica, a place free of cold and wet and ice and snow, one we probably wish we were sharing instead of where we are now.

Good Morning. It’s 39° and calm this morning. High forecast to be 64° and overcast all day.

I still have one more burn pile to ignite. This might be the day ... with calm winds.

I received my adapter plate last week, to install 3-point implements on the front of tractors.

I’ll hook up my 84” landscape rake up this weekend, to drag brush out from under some oak trees in one of our pastures

I tried baby back ribs in our Instant Pot, last evening, and they were every bit as good as 10 hours on our smoker.

24 minutes at pressure, natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then 3 minutes under the broiler to caramelize the mesquite BBQ sauce. Fall off the bone good!

Ron ... congrats on your new Great Grand Daughter. Glad your GD could comply with Grandma’s wishes.

Drew ... hope docs resolve your foot issue soon and before your next RV Trip.

Jay ... as noted, by Eric, very nice variety of pictures. Something for everyone.

Randy ... good luck with your prep and think positive thoughts. We’re all praying for an excellent outcome for you and fast healing.

Everyone have an excellent day.

Prayers to all.

Good morning! 30˚F frosty mostly clear skies. The heavy frost was not predicted, it was only suppose to get down to the mid 30s so I uncovered my tender plants in the garden yesterday.

Ron Congratulations on your growing family and welcome little miss Moon. What timing!!!!
(My wife is taking Spanish in the language club and reminded me that Luna is Spanish for Moon. - and what a big bright moon yesterday evening to welcome Luna.)

RNG just when I was wondering if you knew how LED lights work you give a dissertation on them worthy of college credits. I have LED lights on the Ranger and must have the shield because the line of demarcation looks like a shield on the top part of the light when on low beam.

L4N- your weather forecast for snow every day for a week is a wonderful Texas dream.

Rick, the Instant Pot is very versatile. I just saw a doctor's article about nutrition is now being added to new Doctors in medical school and they had a pic of the students in front of a table with about 10 Instant Pots, however I don't think Ribs were in them.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Showers this morning becoming less numerous during the afternoon hours. High 61F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Town run today to dump off recycling, pick up some parts, get a physical and an x-ray, see the Snap-On man, buy some batteries, and the rest of the stuff on the list, which I've checked more than twice. Probably be gone most of the day.

Took the touring bike headlight apart again yesterday, and carefully compared the old H4 halogen bulb to the new LED, paying particular attention the geometry of the filaments vs. the LED locations. And they pretty much line up one for one. But as I was fiddling with the bulb, I learned that I'd been mounting it on the reflector housing incorrectly, which explains why I'd never been impressed with the lighting on the bike to begin with. And I'm pretty sure the problem was inherited from the previous owner, and I just copied it thinking it was the thing to do. I also played around a bit by leaving the bail that holds the lamp in place off, and moved the lamp in and out of the reflector, and learned that even a small amount of travel makes a big difference in the beam pattern. The garage was too small to give much of a clue as to how the light will show when riding, but I think I'm at least headed in the right direction now, and will have something working much better than it's ever been. But with rain in the forecast through Saturday, I'll have to be patient to find out.

Most of the TV I watch is captured on a DVR, but last night I was flipping through channels and landed on one featuring families of musicians who were competing against each other for a quarter million dollar prize and a recording contract. And the music was amazing! So many talented people out there you've never heard about, it's amazing! When that was over, they ran one of Dan Rather's "Amazing Interview" episodes, this one featuring Jon Anderson of the progressive rock group Yes.You can bet I was glued to my chair for that one, listening to Anderson delve into the roots of the band, and all the twists and turns along the way. And when that was over, the next show on the same channel was a documentary on the Beach Boy's Pet Sounds album, covering more or less the same material as the Love and Mercy movie from earlier in the week. During that show, they mentioned tapes from '66 and '67 that were supposed to be the next album after Pet Sounds, but Brian Wilson's issues had prevented coming to light. Until the mid 2000s, when he pulled them out, restored them, and then created two new releases. One of the original recordings, with out takes and studio chatter, a sort of audio documentary, but not an album because the songs were never really finished. So a little later, Wilson went back into the studio with all new musicians and picked up where he left off in '67, but with a voice forty years older. So there might be a new CD or two under the tree this year. It turns out that channel was repeating the two shows for the rest of the evening, so I called up an old college buddy to let him know (he's an even bigger Yes fan than I am), and spent the next two hours catching up. Kind of a long, windy, ending to the evening, but a very nice one.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

:laughing:I think you give more credit than is really due, Don. I've spent far too much time and money chasing good lighting, trying high wattage halogens, a couple generations of HID, and now three or four generations of LEDs. This one I have now is said to be their tenth try, and it does show a lot of thought in mimicking the geometry of the H4 bulb it replaces. But the LEDs on new cars these days are either projectors like Grev mentioned yesterday, or have multiple LEDs, each with their own specially designed reflectors, so there are no weird patterns or blinding oncoming drivers due to bad optics. Now there are aftermarket companies making complete headlight assemblies using combinations of projectors and dedicated reflectors to get great results, too. But at six hundred bux a side, I'm waiting for the Chinese knockoffs to come out.:confused2:

Yesterday I was paging back through the calendar and noticed that I'm about six months overdue for a visit to the eye doctor for a checkup. Seeing as how I'm having so much trouble with my close vision lately, my New Year's resolution may be to make a January appointment and maybe get some help in that department.
