My wedding ring has been on for 35 1/2 years. My finger has actually 'grown' around it.... No way is it coming off, only way would be to cut it off.

:eek:Your finger? You are so desperate to get your wedding ring off that you would cut off your finger?

32°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 49° today.

Forgot to mention The Wife's birthday on Saturday. She originally wanted to go out to one of the two local places we know serve pecan-encrusted talapia, a favorite of hers, but in the end decided she'd rather just stay in and be comfy all day. So I called one of the restaurants and ordered it for carry out. The giant slices of chocolate cake we also got survived until Sunday evening, when they were finally consumed. So, she had a nice, relaxing celebration of the 22nd anniversary of her 29th birthday.

She has been on me for several weeks to "do something" about our troublesome rooster. He was just plain mean, and very aggressive. Yesterday, he went to that big chicken coop in the sky. Down to just the nine hens now, and it's much quieter out there.

Full five day work week for me this week, then four day weekends for the next two.

Eric, nice attempt to guide Drew down that rabbit hole of lucent dreaming.

Good evening everyone!!!

It was a last minute plan. Brogen got a day visit to the doggie gulag and we ended up spending the day/night with friends at a very old, quaint Inn celebrating our mutual anniversaries. It was like living and dining in a museum. 2" of snow fell as we poached in the jacuzzi following dinner. I remembered earlier today why I do not savor cognac as I once did.:( We went to the Norman Rockwell Museum before our return home. That museum always moves me.

“… Good day for Bella...good day for her Daddy”- Roy

“… looks to be mild thru Christmas but rather large rain event coming this Thursday/Friday. After Christmas into New Years things start to look interesting weather wise. January looks rough right now”- Buppies I agree. I took a "break" from the weather stuff (except iPhone data stuff:embarrassed:)

Don- sorry to read about your aunts. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers and especially for your great-aunt. From independent living to “assisted” living is a huge transition. It’s nice to see family. It’s too bad that as we age the family events are more a gathering of mourners. :(

Ted- I hope you shake this respiratory illness quickly and completely and recover from the cookie OD.

RNG- Good luck with the axle rebuild project.

Randy- We love chili. Yours looks like good eats.

PJS- A belated happy birthday wish for your wife. Too “bad” about the rooster;) Soup?;)

I hope that everyone gets a restful night's sleep.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good evening all. 38F for the start, partly cloudy, calm wind. Low wind day today, sky clouded up again, and high temp was only 51F. Choir practice to start the day, worked charging the trolling motor batteries, took wife to dentist, suffered through dallas afternoon traffic on I-35E, gassed up at Buc-Ees for the first time $1.689 per gallon.
Don sorry to hear about your aunts.
PJ belated happy birthday to Mrs PJ.
LS need to get over you respiratory issues.
Jay good to hear quality celebration of your anniversary.
RNG hope you have better luck at the couthouse and jury duty than I have.
Drew, won't hurt my feeling if I am on your delivery list;)
prayers for all.

yup, I'd say at least an inch of height needed.
Should have just killed the grass with Roundup and
built on top instead of making an excavation site out of this.
There's a lawn lake not far away so this area might need some improved drainage in general.

You could shift to a "Hydroponic" crop..... :)

I stopped wearing a wrist watch when I retired, and when I need to, use the cell phone when I want to know what time it is. That usually works just fine, but when the tech at Apple told me to come back in two hours and my iPhone would be done, I asked him how am I going to know what time it is if he's got my phone? In that huge mall, there was not a single wall clock that I could find, and after what seemed like three hours, I asked a security guard for the time. I still had a half hour to go! So back to the Apple store where I spent it looking at the new model iPhones, wondering how the new X iPhones could be worth paying so much more for when they all do pretty much the same thing.:confused2: Minimalist Cheapskate, eh? I kinda like the sound of that...

So how much did it set you back to get the new battery installed, "Out the door" price?

My wife and I chuckled a "been there done that" chuckle about the rooster story. My wife was a bit traumatized for a day or two after ours "flew the coop", but is glad for the peace and quiet nowadays. Happy Birthday Mrs. PJS!

Drew, when you move down to Georgetown Texas, you can take the single ladies out for a spin in your snazzy Audi down the 130 tollroad. When you get to the southern half of it, you can legally drive 85mph!!! (Just make sure the ladies have good pace makers and plenty of toll change.) :)

No cats for me. Fortunately, my middle daughter is very allergic to their hair and dander. Cats have their place. Just not mine.

At church Sunday, was our annual Christmas production put on by the kids, and some patient adults. I bribed my 8 year old son to sing better by offering him 2 large 2 liter Dr. Peppers. He quickly got over his stage fright for Dr. Pepper. He also read some scripture. The oldest daughter sang and read scripture to.

Whom of my friends (online here) am I going to be rooting against when our Texas A&M Aggies play NC State on New year's eve????

Chicken count still at just 2 hens.....but we still have about 2 dozen eggs in the fridge....

I hope all of you have a blessed day tomorrow.
