60 going to 61.

Was planning on going hiking up in the mountains until I got a kink in my back doing my sit-ups this morning. Now when I take a deep breath, it isn't pleasant at all. Coco will have to settle for a shorter hike this afternoon.

Got some paperwork and mowing to do anyway.

Wintergreen oil is great for muscle kinks and pain.

Much cooler today and windy, very busy with T-Bird leaving a day early. Daughter and grandson coming over and 2-3 other things.
Have a good day all. God bless

How will you ever get to one Tractor / Implement balance if you're selling a tractor? . We had high hopes ......... that YOU'D be the one to do it.

it's all becoming too much to handle. My arthritis is getting worse, a full manual no powershuttle tractor is just too hard on me.
Will put it out at end of lane and doubt it will last long. Will get what I paid for it too. I need a new tractor with more gizmos that make attachment easier, like a rear three point hitch control. JD has a very cool setup on their 4066R, but I need a larger tractor to pull that disc and pick up big oak trees that go down. Once I'm done with potatoes this year, I may also sell the Super A. The small Massey with hydro trans is a keeper, very easy to drive tractor and just the right size for small utility work. Decided to simplify and only have one 50-75hp tractor, likely a utility and not compact utility.

Ron, very sorry to hear that about your wife, please tell her we all wish her a fast recovery, if that is possible.
I sometimes wonder what will fall apart on me each day...

Got my cousin to take me and wife to a Dr. appointment for wife. Not a good visit. Getting a brace for neck. She is loosing strength in her neck. But good news on eating. Eat as much as she wants. Try to consume 2500 calories a day.

Sure sorry to hear that, Ron. That sounds worse than my wife's COPD and her having to be on oxygen nearly all the time.

Still raining here; just a light sprinkle at this time. 44 degrees going for a high of 46; record low temperatures for us for this time of year. Lots of flooding all over this area, but so far no serious damage or lives lost.

Guys like to fix things and it's really, really hard when you can't fix the ones you love.
We have to accept what we can't do any more and have fun with what we can do.
And tell your wife you love her every day.

I have found that if you leave the small limbs where they are and just mow as usual they disappear fairly quickly. I even keep a hand pruner on the mower and cut small limbs that are bothering me and just mow them. Works for me.

Tried doing that last time I pruned the trees, but the flail mower balks at anything over 2" thick for some reason...:laughing:

JD has a very cool setup on their 4066R, but I need a larger tractor to pull that disc and pick up big oak trees that go down.

Been thinking more and more that's the direction I should go as well, Drew. Please share what you come up with, especially if you start a new thread.

Ron, sorry to hear your news.

Randy, thanks for the wintergreen tip. I'll ask my wife if we have any.

Surprised to find we got a quarter inch of rain last night when I went to check the gauge.

Picked up some more pecans, too. Never gotten so many before...the squirrels are staying in the woods...drowning in acorns, so leaving the pecans for me. My pecans are a little smaller than most store-bought ones, and much sweeter tasting. Still picking up sticks from the hurricane remnant that came through. Power is still out for some 5,000 of the 600,000 that lost power here.

Drew, sounds like you have a better tractor plan underway.

Good morning,
33 and going to a high of 43F. Wind WNW 12 mph. 40% chance of rain. We got a frost last night.

Not much on the books for today, I do need to go to town and get some small stuff AND a new cabin filter for the Dodge.

Have a good day all

Good morning! 45˚ raining. 1.3" since midnight after 2" yesterday.
Got the remote keypad garage door opener to install today and maybe a bed frame to pick up if the rains subside.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 84F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.

Finally, someone from the Sias company that knows what they're doing and does what they say they're going to do. Got a call yesterday morning from the truck driver that had the bumpers, saying he'd be in Oroville in a couple of hours. I asked him to call again when he was a half hour out, he did, and I met him at the HD parking lot. Backed up to his truck, we transferred the pallet and bumpers, and it was a done deal. While I was in town, I picked up a 4'x8' sheet of ABS plastic from the auto upholstery supply shop to use for new door cards on the Vanagon.

I also noticed that when I went to start the truck in the parking lot, it was very slow to crank again, and I heard a bit of solenoid rattling as well, so I got out the battery load tester, disconnected each battery, and tested them. They both came out OK, but the terminals on one were a little loose. Cleaned up both sets and shot them with LPS3, and the truck started right up. Not celebrating yet, though, as that was too easy a fix.

Got the bumpers out and test fit them to the Vanagon. There were no instructions or photos provided on just how that should be done, so a flurry of text messages and pics were exchanged with the fabricator to get me pointed in the right direction. Not real happy with the fit, as there are a few places where they are very close to touching the body, but a little time with the saber saw today will fix that. These were pretty much prototypes for a new line he'll be coming out with, so glitches like this were somewhat expected. The build quality is excellent, though. Heavy quarter inch thick aluminum on the outside with thick steel frame underneath. I'll smooth out the welds, scuff 'em up with the D/A sander, and shoot 'em with bed liner today.

Sure sorry to hear that, Ron. That sounds worse than my wife's COPD and her having to be on oxygen nearly all the time.

.

I don't know what is worse. My wife is very social. Still drives and does her Red Hats and other Senior things. She does all the cooking and laundry. I have picked up her other things like house cleaning and gardening. Her speech is gone, but has good penmanship on her white board and Boogie board. Life goes on and we love each other. Not much else to ask for.
Which reminds me. Hope Riptides and his wife are doing well.

RNG, cool bumpers. Hope they never get used...
Can you do a video of how the engine sounds?
you know, mount the camera down by the back rear like the pros do? :D
Does is sound like a WRX STI?
The Bluesmobile....

watched a video of the new VW Westfalia Camper they offer in Europe but not here. Lots of neat ideas.

Oh my. Lots of rain to the west and south of us and floodgates on the rivers are open to the max. Marble falls lake 30' above normal. if you have a 3 story house on the rivers edge it's underwater. Lots of boats going over the dam. The Llano river is dumping into Lake LBJ and the Colorado river is running backwards. As we were watching the TV camera on the Colorado River it changed directions while still rising at 8:15 AM.

I've been looking at statistics this morning, and wondering whether I should be hunting gopher wood, or just start raising crawfish.

Our official average annual rainfall is 38.08". So far this year, we have officially gotten 44.10" while by my own gauge, I've gotten 43.88". That doesn't count the half inch I've gotten so far this morning, and it's still raining. And of course we still have 2 and a half months to go this year.

A little warmer this morning 22°, yesterday was in the mid 40' and sunny. Today will be in the low 50's and mostly sunny. They don't show any storms for next few days.

RNG ... Glad you finally got your bumpers.

Making a trip into town this morning. And hoping for a phone call about my camp trailer. I was told it would be done by today.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday.
CWB.

Good morning to all!. No rain or snow here last night, but very cloudy and cold. Only went up to 38 yesterday. High should be around 45 for today.

Don, that flooding sounds terrible! We have not heard anything on our local news about it. I hope that not too many people's lives will be affected.

RNG, glad to hear that you were able to get your bumpers! Looks good on the trial fit ups.

Drew, tractor consolidation.....sounds like a good plan. Getting equipment that makes a task easier is always good.

Ron, sorry to hear about your wife. Take care, prayers sent.

Wng, you take it easy too, back pain is not fun. Seems that unless you really baby it, it always gets worse.

Off to work today, should be an ok day. Not sure what is on the agenda, I'll find out when I get there.

Everyone have a great day, take it as it comes, and stay safe. Prayers out for those needing.

I was wondering when all that rain in Texas was going to cause a problem. Y'all sure have a dry season and a wet season. Been listening to Bird's rainfall amounts and it must be green as can be there.

Don't want to be near an arroyo in this weather. There will be fool YouTubers out there trying to record the big wave coming down.
Should be some wild white water raft riding on the Colorado. But you might be dodging boats and houses...

off to wash the truck. That should definitely make it rain.

Only flooding in the neighborhood are golf cart paths by the creeks.IMG_2362.JPG

RNG nice bumpers, kind of remind me of bumper car bumpers. Will you be able to tow a trailer?

34°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 60° today. Had to scrape frost from the windshields this morning. I haven't missed that.

Sorry about your Wife, Ron. Sounds like she's managing it well enough.

Meeting up with a guy after work today to buy an EQ pedal for my studio guitar rig. He had it advertised on a local Facebook music gear group for $50 like-new-in-box ($120 new in stores). He lives about 70 miles west of me on the other side of the STL area, but we both work in the city about 3 miles apart. So, that works out well. Going to try to get the new project started this weekend. Still need to get CDs duplicated for the one I just finished.

69°F and another .98 inches rain. A moist morning here. May not dry enough for me to mow.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
