RoyJackson How old were you then said:

56 years old.
Gotta say looking back best part was when I finally came to Mrs. was there holding my in days I was able to go to the bathroom by myself and take shower.

Did you Roy or another have sour attitude after having heart attack?

I had mine at 57.
Sour attitude? Not about life, only toward the American Heart Association for caving in and not really telling people all the facts and what it really takes to stop and reverse heart disease. They sugar coat the info to please lobbyist. Good for them bad for us. But I did realize that too many people leave it up the government to control their lives and I took it upon myself to educate my self with facts and that I'm responsible for my health or lack of it. My younger brother when he turned 57 said "MY CARDIOLOGIST IS TACKING CARE OF ME" two months later he died never realizing that heart disease is a food born disease. His cardiologist just told him to eat less red meat. Both of them apparently never looked at a comparison between "red" and other meats, dairy and animal products and oils. So sad for his family.

When people say I have a lot of discipline when it comes to eating, I just tell them No I don't I just prefer to eat good food. I don't feel like I'm being punished, unlike them. I feel like I'm punishing myself when I eat bad foods and rewarding myself when I eat good foods, and I need lots of rewards.

Got to go pick berries, time for Cobble #9.

OH< cobbler # 8 was a regret. Brothers step children put cool whip all over it, almost made me cry.

".... One modifies as best one can and moves on."- Buppies

Do you check your blood sugar levels?

I still "count" calories daily including the "empty calories" of the alcohol that I consume. My martini days are numbered; it's part of the process.

I think it takes a lot of discipline to change one's diet and lifestyle and maintain the changes made. I have a lot of respect for those who made those necessary "healthy choices and changes." Don, I am sorry to read about your brother. He like most people live/lived in a state of denial when it comes to diet and health. I do not see helping oneself to healthy food and lifestyle as punishment.

It's not easy.

Four times a day

Buppies, thanks.

After a +2 year gap I am starting testing them 3X/day again. In hindsight I should have taken the hint and started taking my blood sugars around a year ago when my A1C came back at 6.3 instead of the usually 5.5 range. I am making enough changes in diet and lifestyle to warrant daily monitoring. When I get boring again with the blood sugars I may reduce the testing, but not stop testing completely.

Ron-:embarrassed:. That does deserve some time out time. :embarrassed::(

I was reading a couple of post yesterday. When a post had a reply from me that had nothing to do with the quoted post. How did that happen? Darn iPad. Luckily I found the mistake while at my PC. Easy to fix with it. Not so easy with the iPad.
Sent myself out to the wood pile.
From now on I am going to blame everything on iPad.

Me too. Even if I can get the old lunch platter working again.

Seems, at least for me, it痴 very difficult to trim quoted text on the iPad using those little blue handles. Is there a trick I知 missing, Ron?

17 MBP booted into Apple Hardware Test, now running the extended version. Looks like it痴 gonna be a long duration test...

And now the iPad is screwing up single apostrophes, turning them into some kind of cryptic characters.:confused2:

And the little arrow in the lower left hand corner of the reply box won’t zoom, so it’s like typing looking through the slot in a letter box.:mur::banghead:

And now it’s putting up the wrong emoticon! :confused3:

Sure wish they’d update the Apple version of the TBN app!

Good one.

Can we send Jay there for only giving Bird 47 year
Anniversary wishes when it is 53 years.

Ok, I’ll go to the corner for an hour.

I wondered where the "47" came from; typo or what? But I didn't say anything 'cause I've made a couple of mistakes myself in my lifetime.

I do not see those errors when I post with my iPad or iPhone. I am running iOS 11.3.1. On a iPad 9.7 2017.
When editing I use the little magnifying window that shows up to position the blue thingy,s.
What bothers me is when I to edit a word the cursor will no move to the place I want. Need to have a way to move cursor in any direction like a computer has.

Buppies Thomas glad that you got over your heart attack and are taking care of yourself. Coffee icecream alcohol etc ceased in 2002 for me due to diabetes. Did not have to have it don't miss it. Diabetes high blood pressure gout seem to go hand in hand an I found all of the above. One modifies as best one can and moves on. I do make a good driver for those who embibe[/QUOTE said:

Bird- You are kind. Thank you. Now that it has been brought to my attention I too wonder where the "47" came from. I thought about it during my time out and came to no new insights nor semiconscious motivations..... I wish I could blame a small keyboard:embarrassed: Even 47 years together is a major accomplishment; 53 is even better. It takes a sense of humor and a lot of work to maintain those vows.

I screw up on a daily basis according to my wife; on a good day only once or twice.

I have handled long time periods w/o alcohol due to prescribed medications w/o any problems, but to stop drinking coffee could be a greater challenge.

Good Morning everyone. Temperatures in the low 40F's and raining early AM; present conditions unchanged. Maybe some brief periods of sun later today; maybe some snow showers embedded in the rain late tonight tomorrow early AM. I am looking forward to the Summer-like warmth starting midweek.

We got our first bear visitor last night. It tipped a seed containing ash can and stole ~40#'s of sunflower seed w/o making a sound and disappeared leaving behind in its wake a ripped open and empty suet cage, one small munched up/destroyed sunflower seed cage, and one destroyed 1/4" metal feeder pole snapped in half at the ferrel. It returned later, this time Brogen was up and ready for "action"= 3 walks of the lower perimeter already today. The remaining feeders (minus sunflower seed) are back up and in action. Bird feeders and remaining birdseed will be housed indoors until I run out of seed and suet.

Nothing much planned for today.

I like my early morning coffee and the process of grinding the beans and brewing it. I am down to ~2 cups/day in the AM; no caffeine past noon. I have not yet stopped the martini's yet...... That day is coming.

I have no real cardiac challenges other than managed HBP and borderline high cholesterol levels. My lungs are in good shape considering their history. My challenges are now organ and tissue inflammation. Since I started this new way of eating I have been taking my blood sugars again. I noticed that I was running "high" with the AM's baselining at ~140. I have since tweaked my insulins and am now reading ~100 again.

I am happy to read about all of the heart attack survivals here. It's too bad that many individuals need a "life changing event" to make the necessary changes that may have prevented the "event" in the first place. BTDT

Ted- I can not afford an RC mower like the ones posted. Actually I am benefitting from all the walking. It reads like your MCL is healing really well. That's good news. Your ongoing drought is not.

Randy- It reads like your lung functions are improving and that you are getting at least some energy back. Are you still on O2?

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all especially the ailing wives and those mending.

Have a good one everyone.

Never had the 02 after Thursday morning, 97%+ saturation.

Hope your not worried to much. Just having fun on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Ron- I am not worrying about much if anything non-important today. Like you I man taking it easy, having fun on a lazy, 40F wet afternoon.

The early Thursday morning breathing problems call we went out on did not come out as well. Once you go down in a county without a hospital your chances of survival go down.
Glad you are feeling better.
