Thanks, Buppies. I don't know about that, but it's much better than it was before. Some of those ruts were almost a foot deep. The machine made relatively quick work of it.

The Lady is fine with the tractor and the implements, Eric. In fact, she's the one who talked me out of getting an old 8N, and buying something new instead. She's definitely a keeper.
Nice tractor, nice wife, life is good.

made good progress on the carryall today, got it all bolted together and the sides glued and screwed.
Tiedowns get installed tomorrow along with small toolbox.
Plus I need to tidy up the ends.
But bad progress on the tractor paint job. It now looks like a crackle glass Christmas ornament.
Would be good in a Christmas parade...;)
Going to try a new approach tomorrow.

Lot of leaves coming down, hooked my fairly old leaf blower which is on a pull hitch and dragged that around today,
does a great job of blowing leaves and pine needles out of ditches.
Trucks always slow down to see what I'm doing...pulling a leaf blower is apparently a novel idea to them.
That old leaf blower has a flat head engine on it that is starting to consume some oil. I put about half a quart in this morning but I hadn't
checked it in a while, gets very few hours put on it. Using 10/30 synthetic; likely would use a lot less oil if I put some conventional 30 wt it, but I've standardized
on that oil for small engines. Besides late in the season it's cold out and synthetic oil makes starting easier.

Time to start putting some equipment away.

Made some progress on the pantry today! Got the wall in that cuts it off from the steps and installed the light and the motion sensor. set to stay on for 5 min and then go off. Might have to change it to one min.

Billy, am praying that the knee is better, haven't been stung in years but I still remember.

Buppies. Don't know anything about filters, wife wants to move it to the other end of the house and get mom a land line. We will see.

Drew, Hope you can get rid of the crazing in the paint.

Have a good night Ed

Removed the one garage door opener/fire bomb this afternoon and removed the screw holding the latch open so I could manually lock it. New opener is due in a couple of days.

Good evening all. 51F this morning, clear, light wind. Wind picked up quickly 15 -25 mph, clear sky and high temp of 68F. Cleaned front and back porches, worked on Christmas light that we have on the back porch, one string back on. Friend of mine saw my old employer got an article in a trade magazine for celebrating 90 years in business.

I hope whipper shows up. We would be going nuts if one of our fur kids got lost.
My septic decided to stop working yeasterday. Dug up the outlet pipe, and the junction box. Junction box ok, the drain field is ok, but the outlet was plugged up. I cleared it, but it is original to house, 1974 vintage, cast iron pipe. Looks pretty bad inside and out. I think I will cut it off shortly after the tank, and graft a new plastic pipe in there. Really sucked working in the rain today. Tomorrow, no rain, but colder. Michigan, gotta love it ?

Good morning all. Plenty of rain looks to have come down last night, though I must have been sleeping soundly and missed out on hearing a single drop.

Wng, that sounds a painful sting. I bet it also got you thinking about what would happen if you were deeper in the trails and unable to walk out.

Drew, there is a barn for sale a few hundred yards from me with permission to convert to a house. If you buy it I have plenty of bolts we can share, although they will all be metric.

Ron, that looks a very tranquil road to drive along, as long as the wind isn't blowing.

3000UGY, thanks, you have made my chores for today seem like a walk in the park compared to the fun you are having with your sceptic.

Here we are missing Irv for so long and see, he comes back to entertain us with exotic tales of far away lands.
Septic work, geez, what a crummy job. Maybe you get used to the smell if you do it for a living but...
Good time to have a cold and stopped up nose.

Cooler weather coming in, should be nice today and tomorrow, nights into low 40's. Still trying to squeak some more veggies out of garden
so stay away frost.

I think I'm going to break in the carryall today, get a little dirt on its tires, by picking up a small downed tree after cutting it in half.
Frankly I'm getting sick of painting, between the Gravely project and this.

I need to figure out how to keep some heat on in a barn that has those big ventilation openings on each side the whole length of the barn. Heat would just go right out.
Zero insulation anywhere, am thinking something with radiant heat that will beam into a work area. I'd love to have a wood stove but as always heat goes up and in my case out.
Maybe I can stuff some winter insulation in those big openings. Need to inspect more closely. I have a big propane heater but it won't heat the barn at all. I used to have an electric radiant heater in my garage in PA, but boy that sucked the juice. I have all this wood I could burn; somehow I'd like to close off the barn and put a wood stove in there. But it would need to be easily removable if next owner of property has horses.

I would think the Fall would be a beautiful time for a bike ride, any kind of bike.

Giant dog bone awaits.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 40° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 48° with some rain in morning. My back is not happy today. Tried to lift tractor tire in back of SUV. Ended up putting a 2x10 ramp up to put tire in. Need to get something to lift heavy stuff when tractor cannot be used. Thinking a HF foldable shop crane should work good. My aunt that lives in town need some help with a couple of projects. Will be spending day at her place.
Drew, many years ago. I built a rack with 7 rows of pans. Each row has 7 pans for screws form #10 to 5/8". The 1/4 and 5/16 seem to always be empty. But it's nice to have a quick selection of bolts, nut and washers. Things are not as neat as they were when I built the shelves. But the sizes are correct.

Irv, it's been 6 years today since you started this thread. Thanks. Hope your sewer project goes good. Mine was installed in the 50's. Has not given problems yet.
Eric, wish it was as tranquil as it looks. Speed limit is 45 mph (72k/hr) with many going faster. In some areas there is not room for cars to pass unless they are going slower than 10 mph.
Don, hope Whipper has found her way home.
Good Morning All.

Happy Birthday to us! :dance1:
This thread has been a delightful way to make new friends.
Thanks Irv.

Good morning. 45˚. Whipper is still MIA. We are still searching but hope is fading.
All signs are up and the paper comes out today. I hope my phone rings.

Happy Birthday Good Morning Thread!

55 in Dallas (actually a few degrees warmer in Bethel!)...high about 80 and sunny.
Seminar is going OK...there are two guys from the UK running the show...one is a Brit, the other is Welsh. The Welshman is a bit hard to understand, the Brit is very soft-spoken.

Boy, I hope Whipper gets home!

47 going to 65...had nice stars and then some strange clouds arrived around daybreak.

Irv, thanks for starting this thread...sorry the birthday present we sent is in your septic line. :)

Roy, enjoy those Texas days!

Don, sorry to hear Whipper is not back, yet.

Eric, I definitely thought about that sting on my walk back through the woods...only ran into one other person, and that was at the end near the parking lot. On the way back I was teaching Coco how to say anaphylactic just in case. :)

Let's go Astros.

Took Myla to doctor for Mohs surgery yesterday. Tiny basal spot on her side of her nostril...went well...did small skin graft...big bandage. Doctors were great.
