19 right now...high of 33 today.

Boy, those pictures of Western NY are impressive!

I see Vermont fired that guy Gruber...and just yesterday, the Burlington paper had an article about the VT Governor (Shumlin) stating "We need Gruber".

I almost hate to report a relatively warm 34 going up to 55 today. Clear weather, back to watering shrubs and sod.
hoping you all up North are safe and take it easy with this snow.

Good Morning! 49˚.
I feel the same way Drew, those northern guys are taking a beating and I was doing a walk-about in short sleeves yesterday as the temperature hit a sunny 68˚.
Ron, looking at johnK's NY picture - forget about the trade. (Just bring a load of snow down when you come and spread it lightly in the front yard, but not on the pavers I might slip and hit a tree.)

Dave glad your dog is better

Looks like weather around here will warm up before next big cool down after Turkey day. We are in a pattern of cold warm up rain/snow cold warm up again. Looks to be like this thru at least second week of December

I just check our 10 day forecast and there is no more freezing weather for a while. The remote water lines are back on and I was watering the fall garden again yesterday. Everything is up, but because of the freeze nothing is growing. Hopefully this warming trend will continue and the garden will take off.

My wife is happy because I expanded her side of the closet by expanding up - adding a pulldown rod for her long things, and out - by adding a closet island for her folding things. The Island is 24" x 24" and her flip-folding-board fits perfectly on top.

On the florescent light fixture front:
My mom bought an new, but older, florescent light fixture from the same electrician in town they bought the originals fixtures from 20 years ago. It cost twice as much as the box stores but the ballast is larger and if it works, it will be worth it. I need to get over there and install it for them.

Poured first cup of coffee. 21° with light snow. Heading to 25° with more snow off and on all day. Got about 3" of snow overnight. Going to clean off walkways. Then let warm weather promised for Saturday melt the rest. Got heat in the motorhome. Going to start loading some of the stuff piled at backdoor.
txdon, not going to haul any snow. Hoping you are having a pool patio luncheon around 2 December. :D
dave1949, glad your dog is feeling better.
Good Morning All.

Murph it's the pattern we are in. When a new storm front comes we warm up then front comes thru rain and cold. We are in a repeating pattern so this will take place time and time again for a while. Think December as a whole will be average temperature wise. Janurary on the other hand is a different matter

That was one of the beauties of living in the north. In rural Vermont, you've have to be able to put up with weeks of deep snow and cold temps. I've been snowed in for a week before the plow could get thru so anything smaller than a deuce and a half could get thru. We just kicked back, always had plenty of supplies, and fed the fire. Being snowed in and prepared was like an island vacation.

Contrast that with the south where we may put up with hurricanes and twisters. A good F3 over the house leaves no house. A hurricane can wipe out an area for years.

When was the last time you saw a blizzard wipe out a town for years like an F3 or F4 twister does in the south?
