31 and going for 58, according to the weather thingy. I am driving about 100 miles per week now, vs 800+ when I was working. Gas prices don't affect me much. My wife has cut her commute from 50 miles to less than 10. (roundtrip) I have turned down several offers to return to work, as didn't want to make a long commute. Local jobs here basically suck, this is basically a rural area, and local companies don't pay very well.
When I was working I knew a guy in IT who commuted from Kalamazoo (Michigan) to downtown Lansing, he had a tiny 35 mpg commuter vehicle and gas was still around a buck a gallon so the drive didn't cost him much dollar wise but still...more than an hour and a half one way in good weather...no thanks. In '92 My brother had a 70 mile commute one way to work and he said it got old fast but the raise in pay for the job he took made it worthwhile.
