Is it possible for you to post a picture of the new stock once it is installed?

Here you go...
Ruger1020001.jpg

The rifle, a 10/22 carbine, had the standard wooden stock. Not a bad looking stock, actually.
The Hogue is a better grip and definitely a better butt pad.
The wooden stock has a barrel band. That's not used with the Hogue stock, so the barrel is free-floating

I finally (after a couple weeks) had the chance to shoot this one. The trigger has a bit longer reset than the Takedown 10/22 I got about 2 months ago.
I ran about 25-35 rounds through it earlier today. Feeds nicely and, I must be getting better with my trigger pull as most of the rounds were centered and pretty well grouped at 15-20 yards.
This rifle was a package deal (Sportsman's Guide) which included a 25 round Ruger magazine, a 3x9 scope and 500 rounds of .22LR. I'll need to buy or borrow a bore sighter to sight in the scope.

Nice rifle, but I'd recommend the 10/22 Takedown over it due to the convenience of carry. I'd like to get a Hogue stock for the Takedown as well...not real enthusiastic about the camo stock that came with the rifle, but there wasn't any choice of stocks available (through Sportsman's Guide).

To Nancy Pelosi and others, that is a full blown assault rifle and should be banned and you should be imprisoned!

I kind of like it.

That is an ugly reminder of an "evil empire".

So true, yet amazingly there is a whole generation plus with no memory of what that means, a fact that older locals are aware.

Saw a few tractors today. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to get pics, but here is one:

Did see a couple of JD, one pulling some sort of farm trailer that had to be 20+ ft long.

The local hotel here in Vilshofen has its own restaurant. This is the Cordon Bleu dinner, 11.70 euro

Yes, best cordon Bleu I've had in 25 years. :)

they haven't had to hide under their desks and listen to the town's air raid siren wail for sure.
remember Better Dead Than Red? and they sure weren't talking about the American Indians.
of course, this was when we all thought doomsday was not such a crazy possibility. of course some current nutcases still do think so.

only watch this when you have some time and/or skip ahead.
Startling perspective of the times we live in. Still.... with recent announcements by North Korea.

farmland next to mine in feed corn got harvested today, believe they did well, old combine going by my pitiful rows of storm damaged sunflowers.

I successfully brought home a full trailer load of logs and brush from the downed tree, using the tractor and wagon. First I installed a SMV on the rear of the trailer/wagon. Used the grapple to pick up the heavy stuff of course without much weight on the rear, and right next to a big dropoff into the road ditch. But my testing showed my weighted rear tires were doing pretty well so if I was careful I could do it without driving all the way home to get my ballast box. Which I was prepared to if it seemed tippy. Had enough weight in the bucket the curl function would not work. Talk about moving slowly, carefully, don't hit my nice steel sided trailer, don't back up too far into the ditch, very cramped corners, working right above ditch, had the helper watch the distance between the front bumper and the trailer. I did a number on my last trailer; determined to not repeat that. Tomorrow I'll grapple them out of the trailer and onto the burn pile. All told good seat time but not overly pleasant working next to a dropoff.

Eric, that garden is nice enough to place inside the gate at Buckingham Palace.

Good day today, I feel a lot better. Thanks for the good thoughts. Back to helping my sister and her husband work on their building today, more tomorrow. Going to put up 5/8 fire rated drywall on a ceiling. Going to use my harbor freight drywall lift. For $150 bucks a few years ago, it really saves my back! I bought a extra mast for it, it goes to 15ft. The ceiling is 14 feet. While working on this, I got a couple of ideas for projects around here.....:)

Glad you are better. Glad it's not me having to lift that 5/8 drywall. Glad you got a lift. You are a good man for helping.

63°F and Clear here in Berlin, going to 84°

Easy, but enjoyable day yesterday. Just rode the bus, tram, S bahn around the city sightseeing, hopping on and off as we wished. 2 day tickets at 7 euro each made it a bargain. Most of our travels were in former East. Amazing amount of construction ongoing in this city.

This is an East German guard tower just down from the apartment. Famous as the guards shot a guy trying to swim to freedom just days after border closed. Brother maintains it as a memorial.

Glad the cold war is mostly over, but still plenty of problems in the world. I love cordon bleu chicken. Thanks for taking us along!

Eric the research can be summed up in one sentence: ". . .many researchers believe that simply eating a diet rich in leafy green vegetables should be enough to keep your levels (lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin) healthy." And there you go, another study of the benefits of eating plants, especially leafy greens for your eyes. Leafy greens also keep the inflammation down in our arteries.

My brother, when he was in his mid fifties, ate greens almost daily at a cafeteria where he lived. He had some kind of major health problem because the greens gave him too much vitamin K the doctor told him.

So much for the "cool" front. It did cool down temporarily maybe 10 degrees, but now it's back up to 98 in the shade. :(

Got finished mowing finally this am. Now it is time to start over again with the growth we are having. Arghhh.

We have a 6' Bushhog 286 and I went to JD this morning to settle up on the clutch lining plates and inquired about new blades....Ouch! $50 apiece....I thought the price of metal is low. They are only giving .04 cents/pound at the scrap yard....What gives? New bolts are $about $14 each too. I believe we are using the 3rd set of blades for 14 years of use, so amortized, roughly $25/year for blades...Don, sometimes I wish I had an 8' or 10' cutter, at least until I have to work on it and replace parts that is.

Kyle that is not normal. He was either on Coumadin or had a blood disorder. If he was on Coumadin he should have had his medication adjusted.

"Ate greens ALMOST daily"
You can eat too many greens but it takes a lot. How many cups of raw greens was he eating a day?

Nah...it's safe...doesn't have that lethal pistol grip that makes "assault" rifles so deadly.

I took the picture with the (empty) 25 round mag. I use the stock 10 round rotary mag more than the 25 rounders. On that rifle, the extended magazine interferes with my grip of the forearm (doesn't with the Takedown model though).

Well, got my chores done (except for weed trimming) before the rain came in...not much rain though.

The same is here, bacon must be added to all vegetables. If I was a conspiracy type person I would think that the social security people have something to do with it to decrease longevity.

I'm on a kick to help save SS. I thank every smoker and fast food eater I see. Now if we could just get folks to drink and drive more, and not use their seatbelts we could get this thing down to a manageable number. . . . .

Good Evening. At 1915 it's clear, 84F with 77% humidity. Our high was 93F earlier today. Forecast low is 72F with 30% chance of rain tonight. I got out at 1100 and set up 100 chairs under the old oak. Then later had to help change them because wedding planner had changed her mind. My job would be perfect if it wasn't for the customers. I need to get back out there and get the chairs back in the building now that it has "cooled" off.

I got around to the back yard here at work and found a few of the big acorns. Of the three trees, only one still had very many left on the tree. Between deer, hurricanes and Scaggs, not too many to pick up. This year I didn't plant last fall's acorns until spring. I may go ahead and put these in pots soon. That is what they would do naturally right?

Good evening all. 70F and rain (.8 in) overnight, 64F for low tomorrow! Made it to 82F light wind and lower humidity. Worked on consulting, billing, new to me pick-up and batteries for golf cart.

67 right now, high was 88. .77 inches if rain today. Low tonight 56.

Took care of birds and calves. Cleaned up the hay in the yard from last weeks bailing. I clogged the baler and had to come home to unclog it. Then worked on the bathroom trim some more. I hate trim.

I did some trim work the other day, don't mind it myself. Just don't ask the wife why i still have some to do in our bathroom going on 18 yrs......

60°F with Fog going to 81° here in Vilshofen.

Very pleasant night at this local hotel.

Leisurely day planned as we await fellow travelers to join us from Prague at the AMASerena, the river cruise boat. Boat is moored just a few more minutes walk from us.

Having a typical German breakfast once it opens. I've been happy with coffee and brotchen while in Berlin.

Be safe
Have a great day

Now that's a good one. Mine wouldn't let it go that long. The only reason I've gotten away with it this long is I've used the "well one kid is always asleep" excuse. It's not really that bad. But after I messed up the third piece out of the seven I tried. I decided to stop while ahead.
