Last night's sky was amazing. Second life-time sighting for this area.

One of my "bucket list" items, I've still never managed to catch the Aurora. It was supposed to be fantastic here, last night, but I was out 9:30pm - 10:30pm teaching a teenager to drive manual transmission, and I saw nothing.

Fell asleep on my office couch after that, waiting on the computers to crunch some numbers, before waking up and working 12:30am - 2am. That was probably perfect timing to see them... but I forgot to look!

My sighting/shot was camera visible only. Although slightly after the camera, my mind/eye could have been playing tricks on me as I thought I saw a slight red/pink hue with the naked eye.

In any case, I went out a few times, and only managed to catch a few shots. The timing was unpredictable. And standing out in the front pasture at night, the comfort feeling is just not there. LOL.

Changed plans and stacked more wood. Also did some bank business and dropped off at the post office.

agenda today is take care of the bee hive in the barn wall using Delta Dust and a puffer with bulb to blow it into the hole

Also laundry and domestic chores is on the agenda

Good morning tbn folks! 40 here this am and predicted to hit 45 today. Winds have moderated and looking at marine traffic, most boats are underway again. Made an appointment for dearests 2022 Bronco to be switched over to winter wheels and get an oil change. The tire shop is behind now! I'm working on a few minor projects for camp and its unlikely we'll be heading back to there over the weekend.

Morning all;
Not a bad morning today 38F most of the danged snow is gone, chance of showers this afternoon. I had one of those sleepless nights last night. Came out to the living room about 3 AM, sat around and couldn't even dowse in the recliner. Doctor appointment this morning then tire shop appointment this afternoon. That one is going to lighten the wallet quite a bit, likely around $1400 but I'll sure be glad to have snow tires mounted up and making noise.

Looked for the Northern lights but did not see it either.

On D's last trip to the far North Sweden and Norway she sent a few pictures

@WinterDeere Those are some sensitive taste buds. Guinness in Ireland is reportedly brewed to a slightly different recipe, yielding a very slightly lower alcohol content. (4.1% vs. 4.2% in the US)

I was sort of joking around, playing on the idea that atmosphere always influences perception. But you're right, the ABV could be part of it. I always figured the bigger difference is that they aren't required to pasteurize for domestic sales, whereas they are required to do it when exporting to the US.

It's possible they're related though, as they might start the export brew from a higher ABV pre-pasteurization, in order to net nearly the same after any evaporation losses. Alcohol does evaporate a good bit faster than water!
