Good morning!!!!

the reality is everything is more expensive in Canada
and good luck trying to afford a new first home, particularly in big cities.
I think you can say the same thing for much of the US too...

which is why I could afford to buy a 25 acre farm in NC for 300k, which would cost six times more
in my current township. Affordable housing is no joke.
Just have to look at all the homeless to see the bitter end, some place I sure hope
never to be.

on a cheerier note, looks like I'm going to start going to the gym.
got a note from BC/BS of NC saying I had 112 dollars a month they will pay for me
to enroll in the gym of my choice (there is a list I need to check)
and for yoga mats, dumbbells and more...
I have to log on to find out more but that certainly seems enticing, a program
called FitOn Health
but....

I have stayed out of public gyms for many reasons, primarily avoiding human contact
to reduce chance of getting sick. But that's always in moderation and context; my concern is for
sweaty equipment ripe with someone else's germs. And what about enclosed locker rooms, how about the ventilation
in there. One sick all sick?........
I of course overstate but I've stayed pretty healthy by doing this.

alternative is to get a treadmill for my home.
they have a benefit stated as: Browse fitness equipment
browse? just browse?

of course another reason I have stayed out of gyms is avoiding
the cougars on the prowl. Maybe i should stop avoiding...
If you are thinking of a home treadmill or elliptical, around here auctions can get you substantial discounts. My wife's Nordic Pro strider was $6. at a local auction, plus the gas to drive over and pick it up. Treadmills have more wear items, but pretty easy to service much of the time.

I have zero interest in a gym for all of the reasons you mention. I used to swim at a place that made you walk through the gym to get to the pool locker rooms, and the gym always had looky-loos of both sexes eyeing the parade. Not exactly comfortable to be viewed as meat on the hoof.

All the best,

Peter

good afternoon, high winds, raining leaves, Oaks and nut trees still holding on to the leaves

Stacked more wood using the loader to move it down under the barn overhang. Stacked the row up to 6 ft and working on getting it to 8 ft high. Making sure to get the right lean in before starting the second row.
Daughter's MIL had surgery and collapsed after being discharged. She has spent last few days at the hospital advocating for her. She had second surgery last night and it turns out a vein was open from the first surgery.
Wife is having a better day and when that happens she loves to do some creative cooking and I love to eat. Win win
Need to look into getting a hammer drill for drilling into the stone wall at the barn

IT IS SNOWING OUT!
It wont stay and I guess the Moms will be sending their little 'darlings' out in snow suits tonight.
Canada - Snow! Oh my!

Meanwhile in central Texas just 1,500 miles South - 75˚F with sunny skies.
"Trick-or-treaters should enjoy perfect conditions Friday evening with a clear sky, light wind and comfortable temps slipping into the 60s after sunset."

We have no trick or treaters in this all adult community.

How many people on the morning thread get trick or treaters and how many?

Did drizzle some overnight. Last night we heard a loud honking or bugleling which might have been a moose. Never heard them before.... hope everyone's Friday is good.
Cow moose will make like "bugleling" sound mostly if young bull moose bothering her, male doesn't make loud sound most grunts.
